KY CRYSTAL ROGERS: Missing from Bardstown, KY - 3 July 2015 - Age 35 *ARREST*

The parents of a Kentucky woman last seen 10 days ago suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, a mother of five, was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Houck has said he had nothing to with Rogers’ disappearance. He has been extremely cooperative with investigators, police said, and he took a polygraph test.

A Kentucky police officer has been fired for allegedly tampering with an investigation regarding the missing girlfriend of his brother, who has just been named the only suspect in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, has been missing since July 3. Her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, has claimed the last time he saw the mother of five was the night before, playing games on her phone.

The only clue in Rogers disappearance was her maroon Chevy Impala, which was found unlocked and with a flat tire on Bluegrass Parkway on Saturday.

Inside were her keys, purse and uncharged phone.

That's just one example I can think of right off hand. It's also how a lot of the drunk driving laws got more punishment where it used to be treated similar to speeding.
I think with that one the laws have changed but there are still many areas and people who don't see it as badly as other types of "crimes". And some get off too easily but then with some important types that is true in many types of crime, depends on who you are and who you have some say over and connections too. Unfortunately. Or how big of an attorney one can afford and pressure one can bring.

woooweeeeee! These things are expennnnnnnsssssive!
Yes, and Equuisearch lent theirs to Heavy D to help find Dylan Rounds!

I don't know why more entities don't share like that. Even the LE jurisdictions. Not every entity needs every piece of equipment. Most of the specialized equipment needs specialized training, too and not used that often - a very big waste of resources. They need to learn to work together and get different equipment than the next door jurisdiction has.It would be sooooo much cheaper and efficient for all.

I am not sure why but I have caught a few things over the months that Equusearch is helping from a distance and providing things but not going there themselves. Early on it sounded like they were going to and since they don't really say why but they aren't going but are providing support for those that do.... No idea what that is all about.

That was part of what was interesting about this video. Plus that the feds can't use this drone or it was banned and then appealed, etc. Makes one wonder that's for sure.

Grave and lifesaving technology...

Logistics, most likely. Much more cost effective to get a local team together than having to pay the costs of travel and lodging for others.

and since it's the government not wanting it to be used, nothing will get done about it until somebody in the government needs it. That's the only time things seem to get done in the government is when it directly affects them. That's exactly what happened many years ago when you could easily pick up the wireless calls on a scanner. Somebody in congress' family got their call where they did something to get busted by their phone call being listened to over one. Voila. It became law that scanners couldn't pick up that wave of signal. Nothing was done for years after complaints until it finally directly affected a higher up.

Unfortunately, IMO, this is how our country works for the most part. Too many people couldn't care less about other people's problems. Some of those problems will be impossible for them to ever experience. When it does, though, they jump right up and scream for change.

Empathy is a very rare thing here.

Seen greatly in our politicians in general. :sigh:

Bureaucracy and ego and red tape imo. Big disconnect. Here we are worrying about lives and victims and some of them, nope. I do believe there are those in the system that do but they have to deal with the system and red tape. Jmho.

I don't know. Does Equusearch and HeavyD charge for travel and lodging? And what local team is it they got together to do anything?

Not at you. Just don't think it is the case here. WHY did they not do a crime scene and arrest Brenner or at least not let him have the access he did? I can't not agree with Dylan's parents about that one if fact.

My small town has a jaw dropping heavy rescue truck. All the other FDs around us know our FD is happy to share. :)

They keep us busy floundering and trying to navigate our time and support ourselves or own and infighting over stupid sh*t and then something happens to them and yes they scream for change. Empathy I think is actually bred out in some cases. One had it but loses it. No one else cares, why should I? Plus if you mess with or fight the "powers that be" you or yours will pay for it. I honestly think there are a TON of good people over evil but that's what is done to the good ones. People just give up after how long and no one can come together for a goal. Jmo.

They have to pay for travel and lodging if they are traveling, not that they are charging for it. Travel costs $$ in fuel and lodging. If they find qualified people closer, it drastically cuts costs.

I get that but also know they get (at least Equusearch) a ton in donations that would cover travel. Not saying they wouldn't rather save it for equipment, etc. but I think their reasons for not going but loaning equipment instead have to do with something else. And I am wondering what that is. My guess is they only go in when LE is on board and in the Rounds case, well, we know that isn't likely...

They very well could be waiting for info to come back from that evidence to get another warrant on the place.
Are all these searches being done on warrants? Because if so they already must have had some new evidence to get each warrant. And hopefully each time they find more and did this time as well.

I'm sure they wouldn't be doing it without one because anything they find could potentially be thrown out.
I know that, what I meant was did each of these places they have searched, this being the most recent, need a warrant? Anyone that has ownership can grant permission. I doubt the suspect's mother granted permission but this hasn't been the only search.
