In response to this article. 1. I have been pulled over for it. 2. There is information that he was pulled over for expired tabs.

All I could find was that the defense said they were not going to take a plea deal. But I did find this article which was interesting? You guys may have seen it before. There’s been another case where someone grabbed the wrong weapon.

I've never heard a Judge read the jury instructions before closing arguments.
They can do either or even both before and after. Imo having closing arguments leaves the arguments fresher to the jury/more recent when leaving to deliberate. That is IF he isn't going to do more instructions after. They are likely lengthy instructions.

Way behind on this and other cases but wanted to comment quick on this post.

This sounds like what I witnessed in this state but in MN it seems to be that way now also or in some cases anyhow. I thought jurors could see videos or ask to, see transcripts and so forth and ask to see them but in our case they couldn't and it sounds like here she is telling them they can't be told the date but have to go by what they recall... I don't agree with this practice and never knew it to be that way until a few years ago...

Sequestered and heading into the holiday. It should be long enough to deliberate though, they have all week.

I think the debate if there is one is going to be between 2nd degree and not guilty. I think if agreement can be reached it is going to come out at 2nd degree--I think most jurors won't see it as no culpability and most won't see it as worthy of first degree and if a compromise is reached it will be 2nd degree.

I do think she does have a chance though at not guilty but it would take all 12 and I don't see that happening. The reason I think that is because some witnesses (not all) did agree she had a right to use deadly force under the circumstances.

Just my guess at the outcome. I didn't see much of it, I wish I had but tried to keep up with most of what was going on here and there.

MOO guilty on both 1st & 2nd degree manslaughter. Closing arguments sealed in my mind however we'll see what the jury thinks.

Agreed. The defense closing was beyond weak.
I agree on the defense closing. I did not see the closings of each in full but I did catch more of the defense closing today than I did the prosecution although not a lot of it either. People in comments didn't seem very impressed with the defense closing. Even so, I'm basing it on the circumstances and the testimony I am aware of but I in no way saw it all.

I just think compromises are pretty common if people are split for one thing and 2nd would be the compromise.

Just a guess. We will see-nothing would surprise me though even guilt on both counts as you predict.

It sounds as if they can't ask questions or for documents so they likely have to rely on only their notes. Again, I don't like this practice and I don't know where it came from or if it occurs in all trials in such states but I have seen it before.

It would seem as if they may have some issue then with which charge, one or both, or guilty versus not guilty. There are not a number of charges here, just two correct? Jmo but if it goes beyond tomorrow, I would say there is a problem.
