(CNN)Four Minneapolis police officers have been fired for their involvement in the death of a black man who was held down with a knee as he protested that he couldn't breathe, officials said Tuesday.

The FBI is investigating the incident, which drew widespread condemnation of the officers after a video showing part of the encounter circulated on social media.

Atlanta’s mayor says two police officers have been fired and three placed on desk duty pending review over excessive use of force during a protest incident Saturday night.

Smh. Just what Georgia needs with Arbery already a Georgia case. :(

I would like to hear more about the other dead however. I read the other day a Hispanic man was killed, I took it to be from rioters, and a few others. Very little I have seen about them.

That's just the way to help calm down the protesters.

People were getting stupid here last night. It was all fine and peaceful with a LOT of people gathered until about 3 dumbazzes went and started throwing things at cops. They tolerated it for a bit then when it didn't stop, they fired tear gas. What purpose did it serve to be throwing water bottles (some were FROZEN) at cops that were just there in a line doing nothing it seemed to provoke the crowd? It only took about 3 guys to ruin what was a very peaceful, uneventful experience for what was estimated at about 1500 people. A few minor fires and property damage happened after that, but most of the people in the crowd went away peacefully.

I read an article this morning that DeBlasio's daughter (NY) was arrested. I feel so badly for the victim here but the use of this incident is getting ridiculous. I am sure some really care and it is about the issue but definitely not all.

I mean come on, what are cops and the guard or anyone else supposed to do? Let it go on and they will be criticized or do some serious crowd control where they will also be criticized? You can stick together and make a huge statement for change without killing, injuring, looting and vandalizing and I am sorry but those caught in those acts deserve to be arrested.

Anyone who knew George Floyd, and his girlfriend front and center, said he would HATE this. Honor the victim. Imo.

Throw the dirty cops in jail who are abusing authority and throw the looting, burning, vandalizing protestors in jail until what is left is serious peaceful protestors and decent cops. Easier said than done I am sure. SMH.

I did get another slight chuckle at one of the bone heads that were throwing things at LE. When the fully protected LE fired the tear gas canisters at the crowd, one of the guys that appeared to be one of the ones throwing things at them to start with, went up and grabbed one of the canisters and threw it at the fully protected LE and got engulfed in a cloud of tear gas. No sympathy for him.

Smh. Was he arrested? This is getting ridiculous. We had breaking news cut in again and it was not Covid, it was this. Couldn't even tell you what it said as I shut it off.

hey @kdg411 how did you guys make out this weekend there?

Daytime protestors are calm, organized & focused, then at dark it all comes out!

Guess where this is ... none other than Ferguson

From the People article I posted above (the son also commented in it):

"In a recent interview with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts on Monday, George Floyd's brother, Terrence Floyd, condemned the violence and looting occurring during some of the protests, saying that it is "overshadowing what's going on."
"He was about peace, he was about unity," Terrence said of George. "But the thing's that's transpiring now, yeah they may call it unity, but it's destructive unity. That's not what my brother was about." "

Emphasis added by me.

That's pretty much when it started here, too. 8pm curfew in districts means that they could arrest/detain anybody in those designated areas, so that was a good idea. The people that were there for the peaceful part are most likely to abide by that.

4 Target stores in St. Louis County closed and all Wal-Marts within a 50 miles radius of St. Louis close at 5pm now.

Well, I hope these people realize that there is a deadly virus that is more likely to take their life than a law enforcement officer. (JMO)

Those people aren't even there to protest, just loot and pillage. They are there only to take advantage of the situation. Just as it only takes one bad cop, it also only takes one bad "protester".

It would be different if every protester was truly protesting for the racism, the issues, the death, etc. but that is not what all are doing. The cop is under arrest, hopefully the others will be and while I think the cop's charges may be a bit light thus far, when they have enough put together, they may very well be increased. Those that knew George Floyd for goodness sakes are saying this is not what he stood for or would have wanted. Jmo.
