Girl last seen in Manchester in October 2019; police seek tips from public

Manchester police are seeking tips from the public about the disappearance of a girl not seen in more than two years.

Harmony Montgomery, 7, was last seen in a home in Manchester in October 2019, when she was 5, police said.

Police said they first learned Harmony went missing earlier this week. Chief Allen Aldenberg did not specify who reported the girl missing but said his department has been in touch with multiple family members and will continue to speak with them.

Aldenberg said police are not searching for any adult or vehicle in connection with the case. Investigators are focusing on the whereabouts of Harmony.

"No time is a good time for a child to go missing," Aldenberg said. "I'm begging the community. I don't care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it's irrelevant. Call us."

Aldenberg said at a news conference Friday his detectives are working to confirm where Harmony is from and where she went to school before her disappearance.

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

"We need help," Aldenberg said. "This remains a very active investigation."

Jury is out for deliberations. Verdict watch.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Observations and my own opinions below:

Kids, don't do drugs.

Jury instructions are so convoluted that I don't know how an ordinary person makes any decision.

Defense closing was good. Not based on fact but MIGHT still resonate with jury.

Prosecution closing was better. Presented the facts as opposed to "what might have happened"...... seemed to have overcome defense obfuscations.

IMHO.

MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Jurors are now deliberating whether Adam Montgomery is guilty of weapons charges that could put him in prison for decades.

Adam Montgomery faces six charges that stem from the theft of a rifle and shotgun in 2019. He is charged in a separate case of killing his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony.

Before defense attorneys began their case Wednesday, they moved to dismiss charges, arguing that the state hadn't proven its case. The judge denied the motion.

In closing arguments, the defense began by attacking the credibility of the prosecution's witnesses.

"The state's case relies on lie after lie after lie, and the police in this case reached the wrong conclusion," said defense attorney Robin Davis.

While the case is about stolen weapons, the defense said that the only reason police and prosecutors pursued the case is because of Harmony Montgomery's disappearance.

"In 2022, the Manchester police wanted information about Adam Montgomery," Davis said. "In 2022, the police wanted Adam arrested."

The defense added that many of the prosecution's witnesses had reason to change their stories in exchange for consideration in their own cases.

Prosecutors told jurors that this is a simple case, saying that what the defense said in closing arguments is not evidence and was just a story created by an attorney.

Closing arguments wrapped up shortly after noon, and the judge gave the jury its instructions. She had anticipated that the jury could get the case Wednesday and had them order lunch earlier so they could begin their deliberations immediately.

Twenty minutes or so in. Unbelievable they are letting him smoke in the interrogation room. Nowadays. Wow. I suppose anything to hope to get a confession...
That's exactly it. Smoking. Buy them food, Sodas. Anything they want to make them comfortable. It is ridiculous. How about I turn that camera off. I'll get a confession. I'm so sick of them being catered too. O.K. Now let me burp you. Do you want a hug?. The criminals know they have the control really. And pull any crap they can. My rights were violated. While, Whine, Whine. Uhhhh....I think you taking away the victims rights away in the way you did was way worse.

Not really. BUT... the (maximum) sentence for the federal gun charges is 70 years, if he is found guilty. I cannot see a judge or jury handing out the maximum, but as long as he remains in jail for an extended period of time, that will be goodness.

RIght Cuz?????
I think like Murdaugh and Daybell, charge for all they can and keep on going so they end up in jail for as long as possible.

As we keep seeing, life is not life in prison any longer.

Leave him without his smoke. He will get ornery, he will want out of there badly. He is already likely without his drugs (at least for the period of time they are questioning him) and take away the smoke crutch too.. Don't know that he'd confess but he might just in exchange for a cigarette... Not saying he'd do a false confession but get him worried it may be his last one and watch the truth come out.

Only a half exaggeration...

They are so soft on defendants, these days someone would whine that was torturing them...

I don't mean LE is soft, I mean the things that they can't do, have to do, etc.

Being nice in a first interview or two to get a slip out of them and things on tape is one thing but continuing to cater is another. And smoking isn't allowed in any government building I'm aware of but they let him do so. We'd be thrown in jail for doing the same as we walked through the lobby I'd imagine.

I just learned of a loophole that they are trying to pass in a woman’s name. I have to look it up to find out more. IDK What state yet. Regardless of the minimum amount an inmate is sentenced to serve. They can file for parole every year. So before they even serve the minimum. I am going to read up on it. That is completely unacceptable!!! I was shocked. I watched a show today. They were speaking to a parole board woman member in Massachusetts. For someone to get early release, They just have to complete 3 things. And she was being interviewed because the guy got out after 14 yrs for abduction, Rape and murder. Living on your own. At first kind of supervised, He was living at a halfway house, A job, And a certain amount of money in a bank account. He went on to murder his ex-fiance. WHAT?!

We know the public doesn't want this sh*t, that's a no brainer, or most of the mature public anyhow. Someone out there somewhere, a reporter, SOMEONE needs to find out WHO changed this sh*t and passed things and started allowing life to not be life, release from prison to occur that should never occur, light sentences, and repeat offenders never kept in prison, etc.!!!

The verdict is in at Adam Montgomery's weapons trial. It will be read live in court soon.
Adam Montgomery has been found guilty of all six weapons charges he was facing, including the most serious charges of being an armed career criminal.

One by one in court Thursday morning, the jurors read their verdicts: guilty on two counts each of being an armed career criminal, receiving stolen property and theft by unauthorized taking.

The charges of being an armed career criminal carry a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. Adam Montgomery will be sentenced on a later date.

Thank goodness. I just watched it, not live, but wanted to see it as if it was before looking.

You are NOT going home Adam. Not that you had one nor provided any decent home for Harmony ever.

A big step today in justice imo.

"theft by unauthorized taking."

Is there any other kind of theft?

"Theft by unauthorized taking". Isn't that what theft already is?.
