Authorities search for Missouri doctor who has been missing more than a week​

Authorities in a small Missouri town are searching for an emergency room physician a week-and-a-half after his mysterious disappearance.

Dr. John Forsyth, 49, was last heard from May 21. Police said he was reported missing when he failed to show up for work that day at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, a town of 3,100 residents deep in the Missouri Ozarks.

Forsyth’s black Infiniti was found in a remote area near an aquatic park in Cassville. The car was unlocked with his wallet, two phones and a laptop inside.

Several law enforcement agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, have joined in the search using people, dogs and drones. Forsyth’s family set up a Facebook page seeking information.

Richard Forsyth said his brother had been at the Cassville hospital for about 15 years. He described John Forsyth as a doting father who became engaged to his girlfriend just a couple of days before he disappeared.

He either wants so hard to believe it's him or he wants everybody else to believe it's him he sees on it. I'm not set in either way but it's most likely one of those things.

I lean one way then try to be fair and lean away but always get brought back. Just a few examples--the man inserted himself over and over; the man failed a polygraph; the man has said bizarre things; the man has said things that have no backup or proof of or that are verified by LE.

YES he could be just a caring brother but that brings me back to I have been there and the most worrisome part of such a case and rime is YOU DO NOT want to affect or ruin the chance for justice in your grief. It is overwhelmingly hard to keep one's mouth shut and trust but you try and you leak a bit on occasion you can't help it but he got OUT THERE.

I mean even the last thing where I actually half believed him and liked him he got that box of rocks thing added in.

Either LE is corrupt or the brother is...

I swear this is why they should in all cases share SOME INFO. Because it breeds more speculation otherwise.

I'm pretty sure they might have even shown him any video that might exist to see if he could tell if it was possibly his brother on it or not.

As in even with grainy video taken from far away, you could at least rule out the person was him or not, not that you could be remotely positive it was him.

I am too and have said as much. I can't even pinpoint who lied about the kidnapping or if one happened or not.

I had early on ruled out suicide but now leave it open.

I can't help but go back to the brother and all his odd stuff but that is also because that is who we know. Maybe if a gf got on and talked, I'd find her more suspicious, who knows...

The brother however, IF true by his own admissions, has been looked at hard by LE and searched and polygraphed. That is the one thing that gives a lean plus there is just something off there although that could be need and sheer grief.

The missing child was just a child that was lost in the park and was soon found. Until the child was confirmed found they were doing their job in notating all vehicles in the area and that is when they simply notated his plates/make/model. Nobody knew he was missing at that time. He wasn't reported until the next morning and they then went back and saw the info and the car was still there in the same spot when they went back, is my understanding of how it happened.

I'd need to go look and find it but the reference to the missing child mentioned a hospital or as if the child went missing from a hospital or some such, a hospital related to it somehow. Does that help or do you know what I mean or am trying to think of? I found it odd hospitals playing in in both cases...? Or do I have something all wrong? It would have been some link I read here re his car, the missing child, etc. Week or three even ago?

No, it's that the info as it came across to me as he told it would have come from someone who actually did see the video.

Apparently, there's some sort of indication that he'd been to his RV- I'd like to know what- but needless to say, he couldn't have been there for more than a few minutes...

I have little doubt he met somebody in the park and something went south from there. What that is, I have absolutely no idea, but that's what I am leaning towards. I think it was supposed to just be a quick meet up and then....??? Too many scenarios seem possible after that and for what reason the meet up might have been for. Still far from stuck on that idea though. It very well could have happened at his rv and then somebody took his car there. If that's the case, then somebody that the brother seemed to believe was him.

Trying to follow what you are saying here. So you mean Richard talked as if he talked to someone who actually saw the video and was relaying what the person who saw it said to him? Who? Meaning someone in LE? The video camera owner? Or who? Does he even say?

That's not even as good as hearsay. This man needs to shut up or back up what he says. He is helping nothing. And almost all he says/does brings suspicion right back to him. I'm sorry but that is what keeps happening for me. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt but then here we go again...

And we likely don't know the half of it, he77 we don't know anything much but from Richard which may ALL be false and it seems to me there is very good reason cops are or have looked at him, he77 us knowing far less leads me there. Repeatedly. Just saying...

No video from the hospital parking lot at all?

You know I have five cameras up on my property, cheap ones, and they do an amazing job for about $25 a camera. I fail to understand why any type of business or commercial enterprise wouldn't have the same seeing every corner and seeing all. Not these days.

Hmm. I thought the child went missing from a hospital or near one or some such. I guess I have something all wrong on that and will have to find time to go look if I can as to why I think that.
