JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

I tell my daughters and mother about some cases I have followed/follow at times and I have not even attempted much with this one, way too convoluted if they haven't known much about it before now... And believe it or not for how big and well known this is, they don't know much about it at all. I just tell mention the "cult couple case" and wave my hand like don't ask, too hard to fill you in... I guess if one wanted people to get a gist of it, the Dateline, etc. kind of shows would give them an overall picture but I'd have them start with one of the first, like the one with Larry and Kay, etc.

The Lifetime movie from all I've heard is NOT one I'd recommend. They got a lot of facts wrong people say and I think took a lot of liberties... Not sure the reason but maybe we need to keep in mind Lifetime is largely fictional movies or "based on" a true story. It seems to me though this was hinted to be more of a documentary or maybe people just assumed it would be since it is a true CASE and most who know the case were not impressed. Haven't watched it myself and don't ever plan to based on the opinions of some I trust.
The way I describe this case is based on how much time I want to spend explaining. LOL

I don't have it in me to explain this one lol, it's too much with all else going on in life. Some time back, when I first mentioned it to my mom, I tried a bit to explain it and then gave up and settled with do you remember the two kids found who were missing, etc. and found buried? I knew news probably covered that and she vaguely knew of that part. Well I just told her the mother and her new husband did it, said it was a bit of whacky cult thing or weird beliefs, that she has husbands that are dead, etc. and that she wouldn't believe it all. I left it at that/gave up. Now if I mention something is new on it or whatever, she will say what case is that again, and I just say the cult mom thingy and I know she has no idea. I don't even bother with this one talking about it to those who don't know it.

My daughter in MN might know it better. We first discussed it long before now, back a year maybe? I filled her in a lot more at that time and I think she watched a Dateline or one of those shows on it back when.

People who only watch cable news, etc. honestly know nothing about most cases, even BIG ones, except the political or race ones and then those the news is biased. They don't know of the case or of local reporters like Nate Eaton as we learn of them from following the crime. Imo. Easiest way to fill them in is to tell them to watch one of those better documentaries I think lol. Or maybe all of Linda's videos on the case from start to finish of which there are tons!

Just when I think I have this case down, something else comes up! Last night Linda had a show about the Rogue vehicle. I cannot dictate back to you the timeline that she has because it was kind of confusing (as is the rest of the timeline), but it looks to me as though she gave Colby the vehicle so whatever evidence would be in it he would use it in evidence would be destroyed. What was odd to me was that she gave it to him in November I think? Or else October? I can’t member which (now see how I am), anyway there was a lot of dog hair in it. They got rid of JJ’s dog in July. You dog owners out there, how long does dog hair last?

It will last so long as it has not been cleaned lol just like our cat hair in our homes.

I wonder though too. Was this a second vehicle maybe or an unused one so it just wasn't cleaned out or worried about after the dog left? I mean Lori was very busy in those months...

Depending on how well it was cleaned and how much the dog sheds, that stuff can be found forever!

So, she was paying the car insurance for Colby to use the car? Was she hoping that by him having it, LE wouldn't think to process it? Also, according to Linda, blood was found in the car. It doesn't sound like we know whose blood it was, however.
I think she was paying insurance and his phone at least. Can't remember his age then but they were still helping him out some I think if I recall back when...

The car though, I have two thoughts. Getting rid of evidence of course and getting someone else in it would contaminate any evidence I imagine AND I am thinking they might have sold it normally but perhaps with fleeing or moving and all they had going on, they needed it not around and QUICKLY? And in addition, it might of course manipulation of Colby should she need him... I wonder if transferring to son made it easier, already paying insurance, just hand cover over? Harder to trace? My guess is a combo of one or more of these things.

It might depend on how invested she was in believing she was a goddess and therefore protected against being arrested. She may have just given it to him for her own convenience just as much as to hide evidence. She's so dang bizarre - it's almost a crap shoot!

I agree but they seem too money oriented to me, she has always been about money and lifestyle... To me if she could have gotten a buck out of it and sold it, she would have. She would have sold JJ's service dog imo. By then she knew she wasn't getting Charles' money but Chad perhaps had Tammy's. I guess it would depend... Colby was a bit upset wasn't he when he learned they moved suddenly and he had not known... She wouldn't want him talking even though he didn't likely know much but she tried to tell him too not to worry, kids were fine, etc... I don't know, it could have been anything... Heck, with Lori, it could have been mom competing with gf/wife... Mom gives him a car... She is said not to have been too fond of Colby's wife... Like you said, it's a crap shoot as to reasons and anyone's guess...

I hope they didn't have any problems finding the dog so they could compare the hair samples. But now that I think about it, why would they need that as evidence?

Back to Melani's trespassing video...

She wouldn't have been cited if she just would have shut up and left. It was only after the officer went into the house for a wellness check that he decided to cite her! And right after checking on them! I have to wonder what the Boudreaux's said to him. And even after that, she wasn't convinced they were HER children. What a piece of work!

Been watching these videos. My gosh, Melani is annoying! The officers have an abundance of patience with her. Sheesh.
She did get put in her spot once or twice though by officers. I liked that part.

She is not as sugary sweet as she acts. I thought a good one was the one awhile back when they find her walking the dog and then go to serve papers on her and Ian and talk with them. She was not a happy camper and I think that was a truer glimpse of what she is underneath and that hardly scratched her "hard" surface... I think she is a part of almost all of this, just as Alex was.

So do I! Why else would Alex be with her when she was trespassing? Body guard!

Also, this incident with Melani is AFTER Tammy has been killed and Lori and Chad are in Hawaii at this time, I think. Alex is dead a month later.

The exchange between the officer and Alex at the end of Part 1 gave me chills up my spine! Officer said he wants to make sure everyone is safe and unknowingly, he's talking to a serial killer! 😱
