Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

To follow Nate's updates of when he is in court, you go to Eastidahonews.com and go to Daybell complete coverage, click on that and then pick the Digest. Minute he gets something he posts.

As most know, with little time I tried to keep up with the Stauch trial and have mostly.

Vallow I knew got audio of jury selection a day or more after the fact, etc. I figured it was just jury selection so not worth listening to. Then I saw someone in chat on Nate's live that they listened to all of it and even though much was repetitive WAS interesting as far as what each side asked and more. So since I am awake and done with four long work days again and it is quiet here and I couldn't find much on, I went to day four of jury selection and decided to listen to at least part of it.

It is interesting. AND it also is letting me hear Boyce with the jury and instructions and questions and Prosecutor Wood, now Rachel Smith is up. I haven't heard defense yet. BUT I will say I am feeling a bit better about the judge and the prosecutor because so far in this part they are very with it and prepared imo.

I don't know how many they have in at a time but I was really surprised with this day's group that when told trial would be about 8 weeks and would it cause any hardships for anyone, not a one said it would.... Wow. I would think it would for most people... That surprises me.

Rachel Smith for some reason is striking me a bit like talking to them as if they are kindergarteners and she keeps saying "Does that make sense?" After explaining this and that to them. Man she hasn't been at it five minutes and "does that make sense?" I've heard ten times already...

I picked an interesting day. One juror keeps saying he would need ALL doubt removed. As to the reasonable doubt instructions. Not sure he understands it and guessing he will be struck. They explain to him and he says he can follow it and then they ask repeatedly if he would need all doubt removed or need more proof than REASONABLE doubt (paraphrasing) and he keeps saying yes lol.

They gave up imo so I think pros will likely strike him. Of course we may never know.

Maybe Rachel Smith takes some time to warm up because I am hearing less "does that make sense" and she strikes me better now...
I am hearing the questions that I have heard of where they are asking about if a pathologist, etc. said someone died of murder or at someone else's hands but they can't tell you HOW they died, could you still believe them... Interesting...

So Lori's atty. is staying seated he said because his voice won't carry to be heard well if he stands. I take that to mean he needs a microphone. He still can't be heard well. Hope it is better during trial unless it is some permanent thing/illness, etc.

Defense is trying to get judge to get rid of people they don't want to save strikes. It worked with one... Doesn't seem to like hard working committed probably honest people... OR something was on their initial quesitionnaire he or Lori didn't like so used that part of their questionnaire to find an out for hardship etc... Military woman just dimissed by judge. Not surprised defense wouldn't like a hardworking dedicated military woman that if required would also try to do civic duty if having to serve on jury. Hardly a Lori comparison there...

Okay I will admit it is interesting. I thought it would be dull and just jury selection before testimony... I won't and don't have time to watch the other days but am glad I watched part of it. It is still going on but not sure who much longer I will be up/stick it out.

Man I need to go to bed but this is pretty interesting actually... Makes me wonder about the other days of juror questions, etc. but I won't and can't watch them and likely never will. At least I saw, well not saw, but heard, a good sampling of what they are doing, etc. and the various jurors on one day.
