JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori & Chad Daybell *GUILTY*

1580704661510.png

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

Nate also said the other night that Prior owns Chad's house and corrected himself in this one. I gather he was informed Prior owns only part as others signed on and are part owners as well. Interesting... it also means Prior has gotten a lot less money than guessed if it was just the full value of the home as he is not a full owner.

Nate had John Thomas , a death attorney last night on. Tonight he has Keith Morrison, tomorrow Nancy Grace, the next is Vinnie.

I caught one from Linda on my breaks! I think most of us know she isn't on much any more or regularly but she was on the first day's trial yesterday and it sounds like intending to see this one through and do shows. I was on my phone so don't have it hand to link right now but I'll try to find it if I recall and link it. Sounds like she watched all of yesterday's jury questioning and probably did today and again sounds like she plans to keep on it all. Had some good tidbits as I am not going into even try to go back and see all the juror days. I could but this is going to be long enough and hard enough to keep up with. A recap by Nate each night and if Linda does one and trying to fit them in without other cases with happenings and life and work will be hard enough.

I'll go right now before I forget to find Linda's.

Got it. It was 20 hours ago and so she was on it. She's not always timely these days either which is fine, she has a life to deal with like us all but this one she had out same day/night of.

Nate on today's, has Keith Morrison on, haven't had a moment to watch yet, linking it for others before I start it and likely fall asleep wiped. My alarm was set for 3 a.m. today. Been a long one.

I watched and I was taken aback that Keith Morrison said this is the strangest case he’s ever seen. And he’s seen a lot of cases! He also wonders who was the leader and who was the follower? I have to think that they were both a perfect storm.

I am so wiped lately. I dropped off watching it before Keith came on if I recall. Just woke up "to go to bed" and it was over. i'll have to go back and finish if I get back to it. in the meantime, Linda's had come up which i'm watching now. She has one both days so far, rare for her these days!

I struggle with the leader in this one. Many think Lori led Chad around as if she was some blonde temptress with a leash around his uhm you know what. Taht's going to be the defense imo but I think he may well be the worst of the two if one Is worse. I hate that age old ease to assume such a thing and it's easy to do, I could do it too but this man is s devious intentional soul imo. There's a LOT that supports that. Perfect storm is more like it definitely.

Prior asks jurors is it an agreement if someone is ticked into it. Yeah right. CHAD killed his own wife for God's sake, he was tricked into nothing. He was the one with the light and dark scale which he changed daily or thereabouts... The man is EVIL. He likes to play this very still buttoned up dumb male clueless toad but he ISN'T.

I was going to set my alarm and go to bed only to find my phone at almost zero percent charge. I really don't want it ringing the first time it wakes me across the room from me and so stupidly and tired, I am trying to get some percentage on it and watching Linda. Jury selection sounds interesting and she is giving quite some examples. She has sunk into this one so far.

Far as I'm concerned Prior is already planting seeds and the scenario they are going to play.

I wasn't going to try to watch or keep up with this part but sounds like it is already something. Thank goodness for Linda and Nate. Linda says she will see us on day three. Wow is she going to try to keep up with a day by day throughout this trial?

She said it's like he's already tried the case or some such (I am paraphrasing) and it's not even trial yet and treating jurors like they are witnesses and so on.

I'm not surprised because of the bit of glimpses we'e gotten from him at a prelim, etc. that this one is going to be different and a lot more fiery and of course he already has been called to task a bit . So Chad is going to be some cuckold who was apparently gone fishing at Lori's urging or instead or maybe digging on his property (just giving an example, who knows what is going to be said) while Alex and Lori were maybe there waiting bo bury bodies when he got done with the hole unbeknownst to him. This was NOT said, I am manufacturing an example of where he is likely going to try to go.. I wonder how they tricked him into killing his wife, oh he didn't, Lori got him to run to town for a head of lettuice and they then did it and then he looked bad because of X, Y, Z.

After all Lori just stopped by to see her good friend Tammy (remember her saying Tammy was her good friend?!! and probably sent Chad to the bath for a warm towel or to town or some such and set him up. I MAKING THIS ALL UP but just trying to say what his remarks are seeming like, as If Chad was there or whatever at all these deaths but there was no agreement and he was just fishing across the pond, across the yard, out of the bedroom at that moment, etc. and TRICKED by this femme fatale.

Tell me no one could ever fall for this crapola. Puhleez!

He made the "scales" and adjusted them as to who he wanted gone. He is the one who taught this b.s. He is every bit the sick cult kind of leader and he found one who ate up every bit of it. NO EXCUSE for her but he was NO clueless knob as he likes to seem to portray. Not by a long shot.

It's going to be a fiery one I dare say and he will probably wear 'em all out by the end somewhat. It should make for some great cross examination as each time the prosecution goes in to show what b.s. this is. But Prior is not to testify in his questions and that's basically what doing that is doing. It's probably going to take countless objections and the court admonishing.

He also has pointed out the four prosecutors and one looks and this big DP case and it is just him sitting there with Chad. Linda had some humorous points...

How is he going to get the people around Chad and Lori to point to he as the trickster? They mostly seemed to point out or try to that he was the leader in he trial (to help her I felt) but prosecution needed to point out how she was aware and just as much the planner to make her a conspirator and even a leader in it and now they will need to kind of do the opposite and Prior said not so different not long ago that they couldn't do that or tried to get that to fly.

Like Kimster said they were the perfect storm and both were total coconspirators at minimum.

Prior claiming that poor doltish Chad was led around by a ________ around his ____________ is the oldest claim or story in the book but there are people that buy such. I've seen it in chats and such where he fell for her blonde sh*t and hot sex. Most don't say it makes him not guilty but they think her the worst and it seems to mitigate it for him somewhat and that's total b.s.

I's pretty clear what she is imo but he is the darker more devious and evil if there is a way to measure because honestly they both tip the scales on it to no end. His sitting there through the years like some turnip is even imo such a play to I'm just a dumb dolt that was played by this woman or her brother or whatever.

But there is sooo much we know comes from him.

Enough about it anyhow, but it seems like even jury selection has already had a lot of interesting things to watch and I've seen examples with Lnda last night and so on. Thank God for those that cover such and get to watch or I'd never have a clue.

Her seeming to intend to cover all of this is something too. She's been hit and miss on shows for quite awhile. And Nate covering. I'm not sure I am going to be able to watch both each day for as long as this trial goes on AND the live coverage AFTER the fact but I'm going to do my best.

Any important happening or big part of the day from those able to watch the trial or keep up with Nate or Linda or Justin if he is covering, etc. put down here I will also appreicate in case some of us can't keep up.

Prior has a few people on his witness list too that some out there seems to mean they are on his side and why do they think that? It can or only means he can or may call or subpoena them. No expert but don't we all know that game and that it does not mean that?

I don't see how this one will be tried without at least the son of Chad's home being called to the stand. There will be some differences imo with a lot the same but some differences. One difference will be a defense mounted.

I wonder how Archibald feels about being cut off at the knees by Lori unable to show he could mount a defense if she had let him... His most fire was probably shown at Audrey and only because Lori let herself be affected, angered and wanted to again intimidate Audrey so she let him. You know it makes no sense she wouldn't even allow Alex to be used/blamed except to perhaps wonder if all was for Chad to use anything he wants or because she wanted to show she is so divinely right that no defense is needed and her God will save her as the supreme being she is.

Smh. Not sure why I am trying to wrap my head around it as it is very clear both knew what they were doing and their reasons for all of it. And when you get two minds and two people who unite for the same purposes, I think it is even less unlikely to be the case. Not where one is necessarily controlling or leading the other although he may have had more of a hand that way, but both fully in for the same reasons and goals. And I think that's what we have here.

They could use the same theme here imo. Power money and sex or whatever it was. I'd likely add freedom to that. Freedom while profiting from kids, spouses and so on. Imagine their ultimate ridiculous goal where they never got near. I figure it was to have he compounded and the how many thousands self functioning in Rexburg at a compound maybe run by a lower one of the group while they oversaw from Hawaii as the exalted chose ones of THEIR God... With all the $$ they could ever imagine flowing in from all the plans they had... No kids as they told some landlord when Lori still had kids, etc. No spouses--well except each other once offing the other two...

Okay. I need to stop. Tired last night all to heck. So didn't get to catch up hardly at all other than watch the shows.

This one is going to be a doozy I think. And I agree with Linda and a million others who have said it, Boyce needs to learn how to pronounce voir dire. I've said all along he was never an experienced judge and he is not. Scary in itself but he goes and consults and buys time but then he also lost the DP for Lori, etc. I'm sorry but all us average folk who follow crime know how to pronounce it and a judge doesn't? It's funny in one sense but it isn't at all in another sense. it shows a LOT.

The juror from Lori's trial said that his advice to the defense in Chad's trial would be not to talk too much. After listing to some of Prior's juror questioning last night, I'd say this is most important because I don't know about you guys, but just a minute of listening to him makes me a tad annoyed. I don't know what it is about his voice fluctuation, or lack of that bothers me.

So they only need 13 more jurors. Watching Nate's from tonight. Then they have their 50, very likely to happen tomorrow and then the 18 gets picked. If Nate has it right then each side can kick out sixteen people each, equaling 32 which leaves the 18 member jury. SOOOO we should be starting trial Monday morning I I'd think. Pretty similar happened in Lori's. Attys had the weekend to prepare opening and then the actual trial commenced Monday.

Nate does his own thing with this first in the show. Next up it is him and Nancy and then he comes back on. I have only gotten that far. Here's the link for tonight's show.

Nate has a couple of pics of Tylee and JJ I've NEVER seen before. Tylee as a little girl and JJ jumping into the water AND a pic that Tylee said to be quite the photographer took of him.

His show is worth it but just for that on top of it so worth it.

So this is a bit humorous. I've said many times I go back and forth with Nancy. I've loved her and almost hated her and quit her. Lately I can take her AND I've seen some good ones with her like in the Rogers case where she really did quite the hard hitting interview.

An aside, since I started working I am never alone night or day as the cats will not leave me alone. The boys, one or the other, and they take turns at times or FIGHT will be next to me on the table (room for one although at times both try to be there) to the right of me and the laptop. When one is there, NOTHING gets them down other than maybe if one attacks the other. Frank was lolling here happy forever and Snit was asleep so Frank got the spot all his and Nancy came on Nate's video and her first response and strong one out of the gate had Frank getting up and departing and he hasn't been back as the rest of it was played. I had to laugh out loud. The timing of it seemed so related to Nancy. It wasn't like he panicked and lit out but he didn't hesitate either. It was like okay, time to go I am not going to listen to her/this and whether the voice or passion, I don't know.

She had a good point or two although I wonder if ID law versus other law etc. would play in but I'd think she would know. Lori was not charged with Tammy's death, only the conspiracy and she said she would have charged her for it as an accomplice but maybe they went with what they felt was an easier win, the conspiracy charge.

Her point was Lori was shopping for a rings, a beach wedding dress and Chad's outfit all before Tammy died and that's a good point but I wonder how conspiracy differs from that... She doesn't make it clear enough imo. And then she asks Nate about their going to Hawaii and when they booked the tickets and rental and more because that would be more evidence but it SEEMS she is talking of when they went over the kids missing and by then Tammy was dead. So is she talking about tickets for their beach wedding or when they fled after being married over the missing kids?

No sure it was the full interview with Nancy, he ended with saying he'd share all but it may be all. You'd have to watch to know what I mean. He had a tech glitch so maybe he means he will share the same without that glitch when he reposts it or maybe he means this was just part of a longer interview. Not sure.

Worth watching regardless. Frank didn't seem to think so but I did. Lol.

So an interesting tidbit. Crime Con is coming up in I think Nate said the end of May? And he is going to be interviewing and talking to Summer. We know from last year and others this has gotten big wherein lots of YT channels, our known reporters like Nate, even attorneys like PRIOR went last year and podcasts and stuff come and crime victim families attend, etc. I don't really get it all, it sounds like Summer was matched with Nate as one to have on the stage and interview as he covered the case. Huh? And then it sounded like it can be watched if one pays a fee, not huge, to watch the Crime Con stuff at the time such occurs.

I've known a bit about a lot of Crime Con and seen it change over some years with attendees and such but not sure I knew about this kind of thing. Do people like Summer (Lori's sister) who are affected by crime like get invites in the mail or by email? News to me. I know the Delph families have attended with I think it was Doug Carter for years on end. In fact that's probably where I first learned of it. Long before all these others and YT channels and average people and defense attys were attending....

Anyhow, an interesting aside. I don't know but would guess Nate can come out later or on his own with the Summer interview but much of this or hints of what it seems is news to me.

Wow I didn't see one last night when I expected one from what she said but on a refresh this morning here is Linda. She's made her third day in a row with coverage on this trial/jury selection. Haven't watched it yet. Just found. Sharing for others while I start to watch. I don't know if she will be able to keep up with a daily for many weeks on end but look for her to try to do so it seems.
