Far as I'm concerned Prior is already planting seeds and the scenario they are going to play.
I wasn't going to try to watch or keep up with this part but sounds like it is already something. Thank goodness for Linda and Nate. Linda says she will see us on day three. Wow is she going to try to keep up with a day by day throughout this trial?
She said it's like he's already tried the case or some such (I am paraphrasing) and it's not even trial yet and treating jurors like they are witnesses and so on.
I'm not surprised because of the bit of glimpses we'e gotten from him at a prelim, etc. that this one is going to be different and a lot more fiery and of course he already has been called to task a bit . So Chad is going to be some cuckold who was apparently gone fishing at Lori's urging or instead or maybe digging on his property (just giving an example, who knows what is going to be said) while Alex and Lori were maybe there waiting bo bury bodies when he got done with the hole unbeknownst to him. This was NOT said, I am manufacturing an example of where he is likely going to try to go.. I wonder how they tricked him into killing his wife, oh he didn't, Lori got him to run to town for a head of lettuice and they then did it and then he looked bad because of X, Y, Z.
After all Lori just stopped by to see her good friend Tammy (remember her saying Tammy was her good friend?!! and probably sent Chad to the bath for a warm towel or to town or some such and set him up. I MAKING THIS ALL UP but just trying to say what his remarks are seeming like, as If Chad was there or whatever at all these deaths but there was no agreement and he was just fishing across the pond, across the yard, out of the bedroom at that moment, etc. and TRICKED by this femme fatale.
Tell me no one could ever fall for this crapola. Puhleez!
He made the "scales" and adjusted them as to who he wanted gone. He is the one who taught this b.s. He is every bit the sick cult kind of leader and he found one who ate up every bit of it. NO EXCUSE for her but he was NO clueless knob as he likes to seem to portray. Not by a long shot.
It's going to be a fiery one I dare say and he will probably wear 'em all out by the end somewhat. It should make for some great cross examination as each time the prosecution goes in to show what b.s. this is. But Prior is not to testify in his questions and that's basically what doing that is doing. It's probably going to take countless objections and the court admonishing.
He also has pointed out the four prosecutors and one looks and this big DP case and it is just him sitting there with Chad. Linda had some humorous points...
How is he going to get the people around Chad and Lori to point to he as the trickster? They mostly seemed to point out or try to that he was the leader in he trial (to help her I felt) but prosecution needed to point out how she was aware and just as much the planner to make her a conspirator and even a leader in it and now they will need to kind of do the opposite and Prior said not so different not long ago that they couldn't do that or tried to get that to fly.
Like Kimster said they were the perfect storm and both were total coconspirators at minimum.
Prior claiming that poor doltish Chad was led around by a ________ around his ____________ is the oldest claim or story in the book but there are people that buy such. I've seen it in chats and such where he fell for her blonde sh*t and hot sex. Most don't say it makes him not guilty but they think her the worst and it seems to mitigate it for him somewhat and that's total b.s.
I's pretty clear what she is imo but he is the darker more devious and evil if there is a way to measure because honestly they both tip the scales on it to no end. His sitting there through the years like some turnip is even imo such a play to I'm just a dumb dolt that was played by this woman or her brother or whatever.
But there is sooo much we know comes from him.
Enough about it anyhow, but it seems like even jury selection has already had a lot of interesting things to watch and I've seen examples with Lnda last night and so on. Thank God for those that cover such and get to watch or I'd never have a clue.
Her seeming to intend to cover all of this is something too. She's been hit and miss on shows for quite awhile. And Nate covering. I'm not sure I am going to be able to watch both each day for as long as this trial goes on AND the live coverage AFTER the fact but I'm going to do my best.
Any important happening or big part of the day from those able to watch the trial or keep up with Nate or Linda or Justin if he is covering, etc. put down here I will also appreicate in case some of us can't keep up.
Prior has a few people on his witness list too that some out there seems to mean they are on his side and why do they think that? It can or only means he can or may call or subpoena them. No expert but don't we all know that game and that it does not mean that?
I don't see how this one will be tried without at least the son of Chad's home being called to the stand. There will be some differences imo with a lot the same but some differences. One difference will be a defense mounted.
I wonder how Archibald feels about being cut off at the knees by Lori unable to show he could mount a defense if she had let him... His most fire was probably shown at Audrey and only because Lori let herself be affected, angered and wanted to again intimidate Audrey so she let him. You know it makes no sense she wouldn't even allow Alex to be used/blamed except to perhaps wonder if all was for Chad to use anything he wants or because she wanted to show she is so divinely right that no defense is needed and her God will save her as the supreme being she is.
Smh. Not sure why I am trying to wrap my head around it as it is very clear both knew what they were doing and their reasons for all of it. And when you get two minds and two people who unite for the same purposes, I think it is even less unlikely to be the case. Not where one is necessarily controlling or leading the other although he may have had more of a hand that way, but both fully in for the same reasons and goals. And I think that's what we have here.
They could use the same theme here imo. Power money and sex or whatever it was. I'd likely add freedom to that. Freedom while profiting from kids, spouses and so on. Imagine their ultimate ridiculous goal where they never got near. I figure it was to have he compounded and the how many thousands self functioning in Rexburg at a compound maybe run by a lower one of the group while they oversaw from Hawaii as the exalted chose ones of THEIR God... With all the $$ they could ever imagine flowing in from all the plans they had... No kids as they told some landlord when Lori still had kids, etc. No spouses--well except each other once offing the other two...
Okay. I need to stop. Tired last night all to heck. So didn't get to catch up hardly at all other than watch the shows.
This one is going to be a doozy I think. And I agree with Linda and a million others who have said it, Boyce needs to learn how to pronounce voir dire. I've said all along he was never an experienced judge and he is not. Scary in itself but he goes and consults and buys time but then he also lost the DP for Lori, etc. I'm sorry but all us average folk who follow crime know how to pronounce it and a judge doesn't? It's funny in one sense but it isn't at all in another sense. it shows a LOT.
