Police search for family of little boy found wandering Florida neighborhood

Police in South Florida are asking for the public's help to find the family of a young boy who was found wandering alone in a Broward County neighborhood.

Miramar police said the child, who appears to be 2 to 3 years old, was seen walking near SW 68 Ave and 18th Street on Sunday morning.

Investigators said officers spent hours canvassing the area and knocking on doors, but said no one recognized the toddler.

Officers are asking anyone who recognizes the boy or has any information on who his parents or guardians are to call Miramar police at 954-602-4000.

A toddler who was found wandering around a Florida neighborhood in a soiled diaper and without shoes over the weekend has still not been claimed by a parent or guardian, police said Monday morning.

Authorities said officers have been going door-to-door in a bid to locate someone who may know the toddler or his parents are.

She told the station that aside from his diaper being soiled, the toddler looked like he was in good health.

In an update Monday morning, police said: 'His family has NOT been located. Officers spent hours canvassing the area, knocking on doors, speaking w/ neighbors.

'No one recognizes the child,' police said.

Footage of the adorable toddler shows him interacting with police officers at the station and pushing around a chair.

The toddler is now in the custody of Child Protective Services as police continue their investigation.

I didn't see a time but I did notice they mention other sightings of her including Vero Beach, Cracker Barrel, Las Olas, RaceTrax gas station...

It looks like there are a few new pictures coming. Other than that, nothing sounded too promising. The most interesting part was his words that people knowing of her disappearance or related to it some are still around and some are not. (Paraphrasing). It hints at more than one person...? Or maybe he just meant witnesses but still...

I wish they would in PCs do them so reporters questions can be heard. I am sure the technology exists lol. I also wish he had went over the pictures and they were showed closer but it sounds like they are being give to the press in a press packet so they should be coming out momentarily one would think.
 
I wonder if the FBI press conference had anything to do with this. It will sure get this out there nationally anyhow... And to those that maybe don't watch news or were vacationing in Florida...
 
Interesting so far... Mom thinks she was living with grandma (her mother) but not sure...? Now they are starting to think she was crashing somewhere else too or instead... This is mom and brother so far... Sister coming up next... Leila was still breastfeeding Kamdyn. She had been hanging with her uncle a lot (mom's brother) and she mentioned to him that she wanted to go to Florida but he didn't take it as a serious plan. Brother saw dating site tabs on computer.

Thus far, they don't seem to know much more than we do.

They said she would not have money for trip. However, uncle gave her $40.00. And she was selling things on FB. Dr. Phil remarks on truck taking a lot of gas. They said most she could have had was gas money to get down there.
 
Sister on. He is asking her about her post on FB about her fear something would happen to Leila, I feel she sidestepped that question as her answer did not answer the question really. Leila was living with her for a bit but it kind of fell apart. Nothing big... Says she worked, Leila didn't, sister stuff. She also had Kamdyn for awhile... She says Kamdyn very smart, knows ABCs and more. Since 1. She says she has moved or went out of state before but always has told them. She said it would NOT be normal for her to go meet up with someone from an internet meeting...
 
This sister said she is the oldest and considers it her responsibility to see to her younger siblings... That was her answer to the question of her fear actually about Leila...
 
Their attorney is now on. They are all skyping or appearing by zoom or similar. Apartment Kamdyn found at 2.5 to 3 miles from Walmart where she last seen. All agree he did not get there by himself.

No one on here really seems to know a thing we have not already heard. Other than providing some family info.

Attorney says it will be hard with different states to get custody of Kamdyn. Dr. Phil says he best with family and he most likely to open up to family if he witnessed anything. Attorney says he best with maternal family, that is the family that has been in his life since day one.

I wouldn't give all these details if it was not case related. Just letting any know who don't have TV access.

Truly though, not hearing much new. However, it will get some pictures and info out there.
 
Dr. Phil saying foster care system broken. What can they do to facilitate getting him with family? Atty explains Florida system with court and custody. And that's about it. Very little new info but it got it into the spotlight I guess.

They are going to touch on a few other missing women next, Suzanne Morphew, Natalie Jones...

And by the next morning after that last picture, Kamdyn was found. It appears he's wearing the same shirt and no shoes that he was found in. It does appear he has shorts on in this picture though, and a face covering obviously.

I'm glad they released these. Leila's hair is styled differently than every publicly released photo so far.
 
Hmm. She looks like she is moving at a good clip in the first pic in Cracker Barrel or at least swiftly and not slow and he is behind her, at Cracker Barrel. I can't see if he has shoes on but the shirt looks like it may have been the same one there too. The second photo she appears to be at a jog or slight run and no sign of Kam. Third photo, is this where she is supposed to be getting in a Lexus? No sign of Kam. She appears to be getting in the driver's side? The gas station photo it appears Kam is barefoot? Hard to tell. I seriouslly doubt it would have been allowed at Cracker Barrel, means nothing I guess but just an observation... Odd mask she is wearing and Kam too, did she just improvise with something?

You are right, I noted immediately her different outfits. The dress, sandals and hairdo, I am not sure I would have recognized her based on her other photos, of course the tattoos I maybe would...
The Lexus really throws me...?

One thing her attorney said and Dr. Phil said was the woman in the hospital was a girlfriend of the guy, I guess I can say Shannon, as he put up his own public video and referred to the woman. He never once referred to that woman with the heart transplant and Covid as a girlfriend. Curious. Maybe it was just an assumption.

The other thing her family said on Dr. Phil was the pictures they have seen of Kam make them think of when he had just awakened in the morning. I didn't make much of it as we saw Leila at a Walmart with Kam in GA where he was barefoot and in just a T-shirt... But I keep going back to the easiest explanation of him in that apartment building parking lot or near there is that he came from the apartments... Now we see Leila is clearly free enough to go a few places, change clothing, etc. and again the Lexus throws me...

I would like to know more about the woman in the hospital... The Shannon guy said she was not from Florida and had no help there and that is why he was staying down there... How did she come to be in Florida, did she have a vacation home maybe, could it be her Lexus? I am just throwing flat out thoughts out there without basis...

Leila is packed well enough to at least have extra clothes with her... Unless she purchased them there. The truck is nowhere in sight in these photos. Could she have rented the Lexus, but why?

This is one ODD case. There is still a part of me that wonders if she is not missing voluntarily. IF and it is a big IF, the Shannon guy is telling the truth, he gave her $3,000 for the truck on arrival. He also said she had stolen from him twice and disappeared and one time she was with someone who stole from him...

And while her family said again today not since he was born would Leila ever leave Kamdyn, that is contradicted at least a bit in that her sister said she had him for a time...

All just initial thoughts on the pictures, the FBI deal and Dr. Phil today.
