LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *GUILTY*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

Verdit at 3 if hearing right. Need to get RA transported, etc. I'm sure. And so on. So an hour and a half your time right?

Crowd control, etc. That's probably supposition, heard something about it. I need to go out the door in about ten minutes so only getting bits as I ready self.

Well, sticking with my original prediction. Monday. After lunch (although hoped for morning). Guilty. Looking pretty likely. Guess we shall see. No not guilty and clearly it is not a hung jury.

Word on the street is there is a verdict, they are lined up because heard this. She says will believe it when see it. It had BETTER be fact...

People are now getting inside.

Well I'm out of time and pushing it. I may have to do a bathroom break to check my phone later lol. Although I do have a Godsend of a friend who often texts me verdicts when I am at work and hoping she might do so.

I should be worried about the verdict but I'm not. I'm convinced of it and have been. Of course part of that was hope, but most of it was looking at the facts.

Later all!!

People being yelled at to step back three feet, etc... Psheesh.
From the WishTV link in post 9310. Verdict will be at 3pm apparently - ie in approx 1 hours time. I guess to allow for transport of the accused and to let the jury have lunch.

1:39 P.M.: JURY HAS REACHED VERDICT

News 8’s Kyla Russell reports per Richard Allen’s defense team that the jury has reached a verdict in the Delphi Murders trial.
It is still unclear what the verdict is.

DELPHI, Ind. ― A jury of five men and seven women on Monday found Richard Allen guilty of all four charges in the deaths of Abigail "Abby" Williams and Liberty "Libby" German.
The jury convicted the 52-year-old Delphi man of two counts of murder and two counts of murder while kidnapping the girls. The long-awaited decision in one of Indiana's most high-profile murder cases comes after more than seven years of investigation, nearly three weeks of testimony and roughly 18 hours of deliberation spread over four days.
The verdict is an affirmation of the years-long and, at times, criticized law enforcement investigation of the girls’ Feb. 13, 2017, deaths. Although it may provide some closure for their families, the jury’s decision is unlikely to be the end of the case. Allen will most certainly appeal.
Journalists from the Indianapolis Star and the Lafayette Journal & Courier will provide updates on the verdict and what comes next.

WOW! After all that time deliberating, I'm surprised he was found guilty!

May Libby and Abby's families and loved ones find some peace in the verdict. :grouphug:

I am, too. I was beginning to wonder what was going on.

I'm sure the appeals and civil suit will follow but for now . . . peace. I'm not sure they will ever find it after what they've been through.
