BREAKING: Colorado police release Suzanne Morphew’s home back to her family, sources say

Authorities in Colorado have reportedly released Suzanne Morphew’s Maysville home back to her family members, after obtaining a search warrant for the home earlier in the investigation.

The CBI Public Information Officer assigned to handle media requests connected to the missing persons investigation told CrimeOnline that the release of the home had been “pending” and did not have immediate confirmation the residence had yet been turned back over to Suzanne’s family.

Chaffee County Fire Chief Robert Bertram said on Tuesday he had been told by a member of the community who had been bringing Barry Morphew food and supplies at a temporary location, believed to the home of a friend, that the house had been released back to the family. The fire chief was not sure if Barry Morphew had yet returned to the home. Bertram also said he does not know where Suzanne and Barry’s two daughters are staying at this time.https://www.crimeonline.com/author/ekilloran/

Hmm. All I am going to say is it is interesting timing, but then that may mean nothing. Clearly they have done what they want and/or have what they need. Jmo.

It looks like this was put out late last night. Nothing to get excited about, nothing really in it. However, they never generally put one out...

Boy has this case went silent. I can only hope it is like the Gannon case where it did about at this type of point too, and then a week or two later, here came an arrest and then they found his body.

Reading some comments on the search page. One or two remarks I will share in the other thread.

What stands out though is I think what most of us already think. No one is putting out active fliers etc. to look for this woman, no family member, not the missing site by the family, nothing. Not LE. Not the daughters (do they know what happened perhaps, not accusing them whatsoever, I just mean maybe they know she was not abducted). The site for her missing and to help find her has not posted in 13 days.

I hope instead of being at a standstill that a case is being built and they are awaiting test results and putting ducks in a row, combing through everything, etc.

Well, just to be pragmatic, if Suzanne was abducted, there would have been strange cars , strange people have been noticed in the neighbourhood before, no? But of course there doesn't seem to be much of a neighbourhood, it seems quite isolated. This for sure might have been answered before, sorry, but how close are the closest neighbours?

They are out of sight for sure. The aerial view of the Morphew property shows how very secluded it is. I doubt they could have seen anyone drive by unless they had cameras down the driveway. I did see one video on the missing site that was a mountain biker who allegedly went biking on Mother's Day and he said he did see a vehicle out of place and IF true, it makes me wonder if that was someone placing the bike actually... Or the personal items... He allegedly told LE so perhaps that is what led them to the items or some such? He never said anything about seeing her on bike, just a car parked somewhere he thought was odd... This comes from the FB missing page where it was posted by someone, but there IS a video.

Thank you, I guess there won't be an easy solution for this😕. But I also understand that they keep an eye on the husband, since that would be the most common solution to a case like this. Some perps like to make sure they are somewhere else when the actual crime happens.
So, I'll wait like anybody else until there 's more evidence . I'll keep on praying for Suzanne and her family until this is resolved.
Just my personal opinion.

I agree. If there is one thing that generally ends up being true, it is that LE knows far, far more than we do. All we can do at times is try to read between the lines, which I guess is what we usually are doing :)

This case is bothering me. I hope the lack of searches and news since the blow up day means things are being put together, evidence is coming back tested and a case is close. This silence is always when I think they stopped working on a case and nine times out of time I have been wrong and an arrest comes shortly thereafter. I hope that is the case here.

One thing is for certain, no one is treating this like look for this woman everywhere, she may have been abducted. Not LE and not the FB page by the family nor the family. Nothing has been posted in weeks on the missing site other than comments.

I don't know what happened but I hope the silence and lack of searches mean a case is being put in order.

Jmo.

so maybe the rumors have some half truths to them, at least.

One has to wonder that's for sure. This is one case where it seems like what they haven't done or said seems to "speak" volumes. Imo.
As i have personally seen, LE lies in press conferences. They say what they want the public to know. I think sometimes it's to see where somebody's story goes and if they actually have valid info for LE or just what they've heard.

I entirely agree. And it is allowed/legal. Letting Leticia Stauch hear things and talk and talk and talk sure worked wonders, changing her story to fit what she thought was going on with searches, evidence, what they were looking at, in this very same state...

We've all heard the phrase "from 0 to 60". Well this case went "from 60 to 0" real fast. It's been silent since that big search and massive rumor storm.

Missing Mom: Suzanne Morphew Disappeared 4 Weeks Ago

It has now been four weeks since Suzanne Morphew was last seen. Morphew reportedly went for a bike ride near her home outside of Salida on Mother’s Day and never came home.

There haven’t been any updates from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office regarding her disappearance since May 26 — nearly two weeks ago.

At last check, more than 400 calls were made to the tip line.

I can only hope they are building a case and putting evidence together, lining up phones, whereabouts, getting returns on testing perhaps. It is difficult to believe they would go gung ho and bring in the feds and state so quickly and then just stop or give up. I have watched a few podcasts recently and one had something interesting, I believe it was Plundr who I only watch occasionally. She went back to the request for people to save security footage to help and pointed out that they never asked for it to be turned in though, in fact they did the opposite and just asked them to hang onto it and IF there came to be a reason to search in their area (any person's area I guess), they would come look for it and ask for it. I don't know that I ever read the official release prior, probably just a news article? Say WHAT??? All I can figure is they know what happened and don't need it or have already checked the route they know they need it from? Meaning they know a lot more than we think? I will post about it in my following post.

From the Chaffee County SD Facebook page, May 18th:

"Continued from yesterday’s update: Chaffee County residents are being asked to preserve any and all video footage from devices such as Ring doorbells, security cameras, game cameras, etc., from May 8th thru May 12th.

Citizens are only being asked to preserve the video at this time. Please do not send these videos to the sheriff’s office or call the sheriff’s office. As search areas are identified, investigators will contact residents in those locations to collect any camera footage within that May 8-12 window."

Emphasis added by me. This is odd when one thinks about it. How can they contact people and know they have every bit of say deer cam footage, etc. in an area? They don't seem to want people to even let them know they have footage, just to save it in case. This was also announced 8 days from when she was reported missing and longer if one considers she may have went missing prior to that day. I believe many systems cycle over after 7 days or I have sure heard that in other cases anyhow. Just some foot for thought, they never really went looking for nor asking for any of this video requested be saved. They didn't even tell people to call nor do they want them to call, what if for instance, they saw something on the video. I think when one adds up all of the odd little things in this case that they know what happened already but need to put a case together. Jmo.
