If my father was arrested for my mother's murder, my first reaction would not be to tell him I love him...

He's had a year to convince them he's innocent and they're "unfairly" focusing on him though... I hope that's all this is. Them wanting to believe the best.
It is hard to understand. These girls need to wake up. He was not arrested due to a fluke. The county believes they have enough to convict on all of these charges and have reason to bring them and evidence to back the charges and the girls need to realize that LE has ample reason to believe their father did these things. There is not just one either, but THREE charges.

I understand the need to keep a connection with their father and their devastation, but it is their father that did this to all of their lives. I guess innocent until proven guilty and they are young and probably hanging onto that thought... I don't think though that means one should wear rose colored glasses or total blinders. Jmo.

It is interesting to me that we finally see them publicly now in support of their father but never once a sign of them in support of their mother. That may sound harsh but it is a fact and has been very difficult for people to understand. If anything, this makes it appear as to who in the marriage had the loyalty of the daughters over the other parent...

I think it is them wanting to believe the best SheWho. The whole situation is such a tragedy.

In some cases, the children never let themselves see it/face it and it causes divides in the families. I think most of the Moormans believe he did it and the girls do not, I hope that changes as all have been through enough :(

There is a video with Mike of Profiling Evil (former LE), Scott Reisch (active defense atty in CO) and Linda of It's a Crime. I detail them as their info is generally reliable. I gather Mallory was to graduate from college this weekend and that Barry was allegedly packing up and getting ready to move after her graduation as the girls were through school. Some feel this is part of why LE acted now so they do not have to extradite him later. It was also stated on Mike's friend, Chris McDonough's YT channel I believe.

Barry Morphew, the Colorado man charged with murder in the Mother’s Day disappearance of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, was ordered held without bail at his first court appearance Thursday — where one of his daughters mouthed the words “I love you” to him.

Morphew, wearing a white-and-orange inmate jumpsuit, said little during the 15-minute court appearance, during which he remained handcuffed, the Colorado Springs Gazette said.

The judge issued an order of protection for the 52-year-old murder suspect, which grants him the right to speak with the couple’s two daughters, who were in court.

Both were crying and one appeared to make a heart symbol while telling her dad she loved him, Denver 9News reported.

“That contact must be civil,” 11th Judicial District Judge Patrick Murphy told him, the Gazette reported. “So, you cannot threaten, harass, or annoy.”

Barry Morphew is due back in court May 27.
I was wondering how the girls were taking it. I guess we know. What has he done to this family? So much damage. So much pain.

I will point out the following is the Daily Mail which is not considered the best source but most of this recap in here is pretty accurate and there's quite a bit of info on the case. Lauren Scharf noted a big police presence at the female's house too. Much speculation as to why.

Finances may have been motive for Suzanne Morphew’s presumed murder, sister says

Financial problems may have played a role in the presumed murder of a Colorado mother who has been missing for a year, Suzanne Morphew’s sister has said.

Authorities on Wednesday arrested Suzanne’s husband Barry Morphew and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of his wife, who vanished on Mother’s Day weekend in 2020.

While investigators have not publicly identified a motive, Suzanne Morphew’s sister told KCNC-TV that she believes financial pressures may have strained the couple’s relationship.

“I think life happens, I think pressures and stresses in life, I think financial pressure bears in on people very heavily,” Melinda Moorman told the television station. “It creates an atmosphere of discontent and strife and sometimes living beyond your means is a very hard thing to do.”

Moorman cautioned that she does not know anything specific about what happened to her sister, and she suggested that her belief about their potential financial distress is based on her knowledge of their relationship generally — not necessarily a specific incident.

Interesting. I think finances were a huge part of this.

And wanted to mention that I am SO glad they arrested him, that means that they were diligently collecting evidence. I thought nothing was happening, but I am so glad I was wrong❤
I too was to the point I truly thought they were doing nothing although I tried to keep a little hope that I was wrong but it was hard the longer it went. I am glad too it was not the case or appears not to have been the case. Hopefully that arrest warrant will be out soon--by the way, maybe all know it, but in case they don't, I should mention the D.A. wanted the arrest warrant out to the public and did not oppose it.

I hope that they have ALOT of evidence, they charged him with first degree murder, so I guess they have a case . Crazy how you don't know a person (in this case Suzanne) at all and can still be happy when things move forward 🤔

Me too. I think because we waited so long for an arrest and there was no sign of evidence nor anything shared, I worry too about what they have to make their case. However, they did charge him with murder with deliberation and the other two charges and must feel they have enough to do that. The fact that the D.A. wants the public to see the arrest warrant is encouraging to me, I hope it means they want the public to see they have done a lot of work and it hints at a very solid case.

Like you say, it is crazy how one cannot know a person, as we did not know Suzanne, but this case sure caught me.
