A Chaffee County woman is missing after a neighbor said she went out for a bike ride Sunday and never returned, sparking a search involving more than 100 emergency personnel.

The Chaffee County Communications Center received a report on Sunday at 5:46 p.m. regarding a missing woman in the area of County Road 225 and West Highway 50.


Anybody who has information on Morphew’s whereabouts is asked to call the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office at 719-539-2596 or Chaffee County Crime Stoppers at 719-539-2599.

Baden is well known and respected but he talks of the body being intact and we already know bones were scattered... He is also about 90.

Why are you making a very partial match into this was a rapist? It bothers me I don't know how to find or have the time to find what I watched (more than one GOOD SOURCE) that explains this isn't some bombshell AND explains how defense took it and reporters and viewers online ran with it and made it fact AND the judge fell for it. It is pretty scary in fact that could happen and unbelievable that it DID happen.

I don't care if Baden is 89 and have respect for him, his knowledge and his career but your article clearly showed they just asked him for a general opinion like talking head and clear he doesn't know the facts or details of the case or the find or was asked before we knew bones were scattered. He from the start thinks the body would be intact most likely. He is answering on a basis of being called up etc. and given specific questions or limited info. Like if someone asked any expert a body was found in the desert and it has been there three years, uhm sir, what would you expect it to be like oh and in a shallow grave? That's it.

They have to give him info or ask question like what IF she wasn't there this entire time but moved? What IF her bones ended up scattered later? What IF she was wrapped or unwrapped? Etc. These are news BITES based only on what some reporter asked him and for HIM based on only the info that person provided him.

It is meaningless other than in a general way because of it. Had he intimate knowledge of all of it and was doing the exam that would be different. I have respect for him. And don't care if he is 89.

I haven't read the AA in a year or more and of course they never contain all but NO ONE reached her Mother's Day and there wasn''t even any check in by her or the girls on the days before was there?

My daughter who is MARRIED and in her 30s just went to San Diego with her hub. Every day, despite my long hours, I didn't bother them but if I got home wiped where I can't even keep up on my own things sent her a text at a time I figured they would be back in the hotel and not doing much of uhm, check in, safety check, where is it, just confirm. She'd send something as proof of life lol and then I'd leave them alone unless she wanted to keep texting. I'm not saying all moms do this but I AM saying all we know about Suzanne, she would definitely want them to check in daily. Macy wasn't even an adult yet. WHEN on their trip is the last time they had contact with mom?

Something I was watching last night thinks it was Barry on her phone with JL. I hadn't really given that consideration and am not sure what I think of that... I and most do widely accept it was him friending guys from their hometown or attempting to on her FB account.

I don't know how you search a thread but have you searched it with me speaking of the DNA and linking a show? How do you search a thread and all pages of it specifically that thread?

Yes I knew that some people suspected him for Delphi. It was around that time I followed the case.

Personally I think of Libler as a weak man. I'd say more about it but don't have the time to go that route. I think Suzanne needed something in life aside from the brutal reality she was living for years and with Barry's cheating, she finally just gave up but stayed for the girls but got herself something she could have for herself to get through. Not excusing it but he is a nothing as far as a suspect so am not going to waste time on that route.

The texts, dates, time of day of course matter.

I think the entire Ecuador thing etc. was fantasy, just affair and escape talk.

I don't feel Libler would have really left wife and kids when it came down to it. That's just my opinion. He doesn't have the nerve. He didn't even come forward in the case.

Other than times of texts, etc. and if Barry knew or was trying to find out, I personally don't waste time on Libler.

I use search to find a case thread by title I generally check because not checking title I end up if too generic of a word with way too many results. So that I know, are you talking of searching ALL threads? In other words if I search DNA and don't check "title" I am going to come up with every thread and post DNA was ever mentioned in right?

I'm no DNA expert but I'd be surprised if they found much of such BUT then I am surprised constantly these days like with the hairs in LISK how many years later. Of course those hairs were found and kept from years ago.

Aside from that I am interested in what was found with her, near her, clothing, jewelry, etc. I hate getting gruesome but if a skull, whether it was bashed in, etc.

As far as this DNA that you can't answer right now, understandable,but the point is made why isn't there a big clamor and search and arrest for this guy that raped all these women and killed SM and possibly raped her to put this all to rest? It is because it isn't what the defense would have you believe and got everyone (almost) to believe. All I know/remember is I felt it was one of the biggest hoaxes pulled off I'd ever seen to a judge, news and people and took on its own life SINCE judge and news bought it. Sad state of affairs if you ask me.

The fact this MAY end up in another county isn't necessarily a bad thing BUT it is really going to depend if there are connections and pull. I don't think much of CO, clearly there is corruption and I'm not basing it just on this case. And sway and power.

By the way, to all, I have not had Scott Reisch pop up with a show on YT in forever. Where did he go? He was weekly and often. I haven't had time to wonder but did something happen to him?

I am going to go on ad nauseum that Suzanne Morphew was NOT on a bike ride. Not at you or anyone, just saying.

I agree with the rest, the mountain lion did not attack SM as she was not on a bike ride but even if true, the lion did not haul her cross country to Moffat AND bury her. That's ridiculous and all of it rules it out completely now that she has been found miles away. She isn't even an issue with regard to a mountain lion.

The Edna woman however, I believe was walking in the area they are looking. Suzanne wasn't.

Also Edna was not on a bike nor was 'Suzanne so the bike is a moot point with a mountain lion anyhow. Edna was said to be last known to be on a walk but I'd like to know how they know that? It may be no more true than Suzanne being on a bike ride was. Depending on who or what it came from.

Oh, I don't know. If Barry's DNA was found on her body and no one else's, that would say something to me imo IF t is conclusive she was murdered and for me, she WAS murdered and put there. At some point.

Background on the disappearance of Suzanne Morphew
Suzanne Morphew, who was 49 when she disappeared, has been missing since May 10, 2020 — Mother’s Day — from the Maysville area in Chaffee County. A neighbor called 911 to report that she had gone for a bike ride and never returned. Barry, her husband, was working in the Denver area for his landscaping business when he learned of her disappearance.
Investigators started rigorous searches in the area and created a tip line. Barry and a family friend said they were offering $200,000 for her safe return. Her bike and helmet were both found, but there was no sign of Suzanne. Investigators obtained DNA evidence from the bike, helmet and Suzanne’s vehicle.
Colorado Bureau of Investigation forensic analysis determined that an unknown male DNA on the bike helmet, bike, Suzanne’s car’s glovebox and the backseat of the car did not belong to Barry. That DNA was later determined to partially match DNA found in three out-of-state unsolved sexual assault investigations.

It being on all that screams of being planted. How would this supposed killer get to get car and inside it if he got her on her bike?
