Arguable. You've seen those video's of African leopards dragging
away same body size gazelles? Mountain lion should be able to
do the same. Particularly, if it's a female with cubs to feed - they
get desperate in that case. It's in the mountains after all, they
can't be expected to look under every bush for fallen off shoes,
or follow through every rockoutcrop to where ever its den may be.
(Note: not applicable to SM, refering to Edna Quintana here).

I did just that and no it wasn't.
Read the last line or two.

Yes I mentioned Edna and Suzanne too. In fact I think they have four sets of remains now and Edna's still to find.

From the link I posted earlier.

Five people have disappeared or been found dead in the same area where Suzanne's remains were recovered, she noted, including Suzanne, Quintana, Kristal Reisinger, an unidentified man whose remains were found on July 26 and another unidentified person whose remains were located in Saguache County last weekend.

Are there any cases of bicyclists being attacked by mountain lions? Not disputing your theory, as all theories are valid and should be covered. Are there also any cases of mountain lions taking the remains and burying them miles away. These are the questions. I just hope they can determine a COD after all this time and find DNA on the remains.
Just to share what I've learned about lion behavior and incidents, I can think of one attack on a bicyclist where the lion then tried to drag the person away but I don't know of any instances in which a lion dragged or carried a victim for miles, hundreds of yards (and uphill!), yes, but not miles. I also don't know of lions burying prey. I know they'll cover prey but I'm not sure about burying.

This article asks what's next and provides a statement from BM's attorneys. Don't know if it has been posted already.

Just posting the statement in full below.

Also here's the statement from Suzanne's family....

The family released this statement on Thursday, "The Moorman family would like to thank all involved for the discovery of our sister Suzanne. Over the last three years, countless hours have been spent looking for Suzanne by a determined group who have never given up hope that she would be found. The memories of her gentle spirit and wonderful smile have been a constant presence since her disappearance to all who knew and loved her. We want to thank Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze, his staff, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, and the hundreds of volunteers who never gave up. Fate may have played a key role in finding her, but it does not negate the resolute commitment of all those involved. We would also like to thank the citizens of Chaffee County who have been subjected to this unimaginable saga for their support and prayers.

"We look forward to finding long-awaited justice for Suzanne in the successful prosecutions of those involved in her disappearance."

RELATED: Suzanne Morphew's family shares statement after remains found more than 3 years after disappearance

We've posted the entire statement from Barry Morphew's attorney below:

The first and most important focus should be that the Morphews just learned that they lost their beautiful mother and wife after she disappeared 3 ½ years ago.

What appears to be the overriding focus is a finger pointing right back where it started 3 ½ years ago: a movement to blindly re-accuse Barry for Suzanne's death.

Here are the facts.

According to the authorities, Suzanne Morphew was NOT found anywhere in the vicinity of her home, the town nearby, or the county she lived in. She was found in Moffat, Colorado. Moffat is 45 miles south and a 45-minute drive away from the Morphew home located in Maysville, Colorado.

According to authorities who found Suzanne, her remains were found in a shallow grave in a dry desert field of sagebrush and natural grasses. Contrary to prior accusations, her remains were not found in a rocky mountainous region near her home, not in a location that was a "difficult spot" to get to, or near the home and impossible to get to due to being in a mine or under frozen tundra and buried under 6 feet of snow.

Barry was the most scrutinized, dissected, surveilled individual, minute by minute, hour by hour using law enforcement cameras posted by his home, phone taps and GPS devices placed on his car – all during the time frame of her disappearance and the years following.

At no time did the FBI, CBI, Chaffee County Sheriff's Office, or DA's Office pinpoint or even generally claim that Barry was in any area south of his home, near Moffat, or anywhere near Saguache County at any relevant time frame. It would be ludicrous for anyone to now try to fit the now-known facts to prior false assumptions and accusations.

It was the Saguache County Officials who fortunately stumbled onto Suzanne's remains last week while looking for another missing woman, Edna Quintana. Law enforcement officials that were supposedly looking for Suzanne, were never looking for Suzanne in the Moffat area or area South of Maysville, because they only focused in on Barry being the suspect. And, they knew Barry was not South of Maysville, and certainly not 45 miles South.

The authorities focused their search for Suzanne in the area near the Morphew home utilizing his phone and car forensics. The authorities pointed to the locations where Barry was May 9 and 10, 2020. Barry was in Salida (north of his home), or in or near his home, and then on May 10, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. drove to Broomfield, Colorado, a city 156 miles North of Maysville. He was never south of the house, and that is why they did not search that area. See FBI's map relied upon by the authorities about Barry's whereabouts on May 9 and 10, 2020.

The Morphew home, Barry's truck, Suzanne's and daughters' vehicles were immediately searched for evidence of human remains and Suzanne's blood using both forensics and dog sniff searches. There was no forensic evidence of Suzanne's deceased body or blood in any of the vehicles.

What needs to be done instead of pointing fingers at Barry Morphew, is asking the officials about the number of missing people and the number of human remains that have been recovered in or from Saguache County in the recent past.

Whatever happened to Krystal Reisinger, Edna Quintana, Suzanne, the man whose remains were found by Saguache County Sheriff's office in the foothills on July 26, 2023, or the remains of the person found in another area in Saguache County last weekend (more info to come from authorities tomorrow). What were the circumstances of their disappearances, what is the cause and manner of death of the remains found in the area, what happened to them, are they looking for other remains in this area?

The public should demand answers about these five people who suspiciously went missing or were found dead in this area.

The Morphew family and legal team believe that CBI, local law enforcement, and the local DA's office have a conflict of interest and should not be involved in the future investigation of Suzanne's death. An objective and unbiased examination of Suzanne's death can only be conducted by an outside and independent team of investigators.

When law enforcement focuses in on one person and refuses to review evidence objectively and fairly, it is a disservice to the community and creates exactly what has come to light… years of unsolved murders.

Didn’t he have an interview on a road somewhere and he was saying we didn’t need to look for her in “such in such” an area? Is that where she was found?
Yes by Tyson Draper. He talked of a triangle that had already been searched and Linda especially (YTer Linda) was/is struck on the triangle and was convinced it was where she was. Even now Linda is trying to extend the initial lines saying it would/could include Moffat lol. I have to laugh at that a bit, I feel she is not keen on admitting she wasn't found there BUT who is to say she was never there and BM moved her... She simply extended her triangle lines, etc. though.

Tyson told Barry he wasn't recording but he was. Absolutely every other YTer and many more have used Tysons' video of Barry and it was arguably the first thing that was big or we got to see of BM along with BM's late, pathetic 1/2 minute long preplanned video of his plea for Suzanne.

The fact that they are still searching. Edna was walking alone on a trail, Suzanne was cycling alone on a trail.
Suzanne was not cycling on Mother's Day. Sorry but there is hardly a person on this earth who followed this case that believes that. BARRY planted that seed to get them to go in that direction. and find the staged bike and helmet, etc. Suzanne was not alive on M Day, much less did she go riding on her bike.

I am really tired of people dismissing what I say!!!
No mountain lion attacked SM, I don't disagree with you or dismiss it.

I also don't believe any mountain lion attacked the Edna woman but of course don't know her case at all.

It's a common thought by many in disappearances that some animal is responsible if it was rural and the person can't be found quickly. I don't usually EVER.

And in SM's case, BARRY just like the bike ride was trying to direct the investigation with the bike ride, an abduction or a mountain lion. ALL came from him.

Suzanne did not go on a bike ride on Mother's Day. She was already dead.

I don't know what they can prove but I hope they find animal tranquilizer evidence in the autopsy. AND clothing that does not fit his story. AND something that relates to him or to their HOME, etc.
