UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson killed in Midtown Manhattan by masked gunman in December 2024

Yeah, I'm not so sure this is his unless he had somebody publish it for him. People have shown that it was published after he was arrested. How did they get a copy of it unless they were instructed to publish it when and if he was arrested?
I haven't had time to look at a lot lately, but I'm not seeing anyone cite their sources.

It was in his possession and a copy was given to the media.

And it won't. A man was stalked and gunned down by a criminal.

Not directed at you, personally. IMO it's just so disgusting to me that so many people have said he deserved it and such. :(

Killing is not the right answer. However, how many people have died or gone into bankruptcy due to denied coverage? I'm sorry he was murdered, but I'm not shedding any tears for him.

Plus, it states that the media refused to publish it. No way! I'm sure they would have been all over it to publish it and try to be the first one that did.

This newsweek article talks about the "manifesto" but doesn't show it. It does seem to explain where it came from but advises caution about it. So i think we should be wary too about its authenticity based on what it says in this article.

Its evidence and they have to prove he wrote it. If it is released now it is prejudicial. He could be a patsy for someone.
Yeah, I'm very skeptical now.

I don't believe that's true at all.

So what is your so-called Obamacare that everyone talks about?

I guess one good thing to come out of this is that the perp will now have free healthcare for life.
Boy, I don't know when I've seen so many posts by people.

I skimmed I think most since last night.

I am not responding specifically to this one but it is the one I grabbed.

I agree and disagree. Trying to recall the various points.

Everything here is a mess but also is imo in much of the world. I'm talking healthcare, the justice system, LE, you name it and I guess depending on what one believes, some can be looked at either way.

Man there is so much I could get lost in but also just can't.

Obamacare was fought like both "sides" fight everything. Without going far into it, my states does not have the same options as "this" state. Our governor at the time rejected the help. This one didn't. Oh it's there, one just doesn't have the same funding as the other, etc. or price. It has helped many probably but not all.

Trying not to go too deep here or sidetrack.

Our State has their own kind of plan but it's always had people it doesn't cover or don't fit the criteria. Meaning a low cost coverage or free help.

I'm going to stop on that as it's just a subject in itself.

On to other things and comments.

This whole case has been weird from the beginning in the amount of info the media was getting. It still is.

Let's remember in Delphi, media published a handwritten thing they tried to duplicate of a confession or letter. As far as whether media will publish something or not. Might have been one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen including trying to duplicate RA's signature if I recall. Because if I recall they couldn't take pictures and only had so many moments to jot notes or commit to memory. But to get it out there and get the ratings and so on, they did. I forget who.

Someone here is leaking or wants or all this info out or is "selling" it. Or has an agenda. The timing seems political but who knows.

I'm covering other posts or some here too.

Trump never got rid of Obamacare his first time. Maybe he will try and now there's a majority, no idea. I've said many a time, I don't do politics but it doesn't mean I know nothing either. That's not at you, this is my post and just the one I replied to, not at all, talking about several I read some moments ago.

I like Unibrow too, that's a good one. NAH though as far as NOT A HERO I am sticking wtih. He isn't a hero.

I think emu may have said in my skimming that, gosh now lost the train of thought, from various things I wanted to talk of here, I'll come back to,,,

As far as something getting changed right away, does anyone really think this guy accomplished that....?? HE is NAH.

And saying such will then get other "martyr" or "notorious" seeking youth trying to do similar.

It is a very dangerous slope and thing to say.

Oh, I recall one thing. I'm not shedding any tears over the victim either but I'm more ambivalent. And there's huge money at stake, like stocks even. Don't know the victim, haven't seen much on him because of course it is all about the defendant.

I think emu said wasn't shedding any tears over him. Same here. I've never espoused our systems and am not a fan of "corporate" America nor our health care, etc. Let's not even go to big pharms for instance, as a topic ever.

There's something about this whole thing that is just OFF though.

Was it you who said "patsy"? Someone did in my skimming. Not that he necessarily is one but something like if he is.

We are getting fed a whole lot of info, more than normal, but some of it is not the key stuff. And big surprise he's connected to some politician. Not.

All big influential cities. Etc. A big Honcho of UHC.

I'm trying not to sidetrack but I'm not so sure we aren't being sidetracked. I have no faith in news to speak of to begin with which is probably part of it. Ebikes, Monopoly money, a hostel, eyebrows, I mean what a story...

And we aren't to talk politics and I have absolutely no desire to but some cases are rife with them, or rife with religion, etc. Daybell. Masterson. Etc. Or it's just a case that is difficult to discuss in depth because one can't discuss such nowadays. Probably one of the reasons certain ones are not my type of case. Race cases or those that seem to have that as a factor. Followed a few but that's just another one I avoid and are hard to fully talk of.

Anyhow, a bit all over, speaking to most of the posts I skimmed and can recall.

I guess I'll end with people not able to discuss in the world real things hasn't helped a single thing. Since that's kind of where I've ended here, and on what note.

you've put up a few good links or so it seems, one about his life which is much of what I always wonder about in almost any case. Hope to get time to go back and read a couple, that one for sure.

HE is NAH. Not sticking to the abbreviation but no one should be giving him some hero status. He committed murder. Not sure how and why that would ever be taken lightly.

Okay that leads me to one more. Yes, healthcare and denial of claims probably surely have lost some people their lives but that's allowable rules that maybe should not exist, welcome to the bigtime money praising and wanting world and the greed of so many. But it's not the breaking of a law and flat out hunting someone down. And gee I'm glad if tons now are thinking they can change it and do so, healthcare I mean, but I have no belief it will. Did they care the day before? Were they on here or anywhere talking of such problems?

That's enough by me but gee biggest thing I've seen get some major interest lately. Meanwhile who knows someone else probably died that day three blocks away or some such but was a "nobody".

Yep, sidetracking.

anyhow response was not to you or to anyone, just an overall one, other than initially touching on Obamacare with you. My norm I guess.

It is certainly quite the distraction, this case. Maybe a wanted one, who the heck knows.

And we're only going to get told what it is wanted we are told.

Haven't even done much YT lately or I'd probably have a better grasp on what some think.

And I don't care what changed, but this "kid" certainly did not change it. Or his act of intentional murder. And if somehow he did, then this world has really lost it.

NAH. NOT A HERO.

I don't think he ever claimed to be solving any problems. Though yes, BCBS did a sudden policy change after the murder.
And it certainly opened many people's eyes to the BS that is the American healthcare / insurance system, for profit health insurance companies, billionaire CEOs, etc.
Who are BCBS? Are they part of United Health ?

NAH. NOT A HERO.
Healthcare won't ever change - only the funding and admin of it is what changes. Doctors, nurses and specialists all have to be trained and paid whether it is a public or private system. The guy who was murdered had a family and a life so he is a victim and it doesn't matter what his job was either. He was shot in the back heading to a work function.

I agree the info about this murder waa detailed right from the start, and the info fed to media too so that it had every chance of being solved and the perp found. And that happened. All murders should be solved as quickly but they aren't are they? Often they are in a back street or in the middle of nowhere.

This could not have been more high profile unless it was the President or a former President. ( Think how quickly they caught the assassin(s) who targeted President Trump ).
In this case they had video, bullets, trash, good surveillance video and the public's attention. He was caught.

Remember the second Trump assassin? He was only caught because a woman passerby took his vehicle details.

The key is the public attention that the crimes attract help to solve them.
When we first heard about this perp, they were saying he must have been a trained assassin and knew how to handle guns etc etc. Well, now we know that he was a self taught assassin with a home made/3D printed gun and silencer but the attention it all drew meant that he was recognised and therefore caught.

No murderer is ever a hero.

Welp, change is happening.

The PBM Act would make CVS, Cigna and UnitedHealth — and any other companies that own health insurers or PBMs — sell pharmacy assets.
