A sheriff's office in Alabama issued an alert Friday night after an inmate and the assistant director of corrections went missing earlier in the day. Authorities said the inmate, who was being held on capital murder charges, should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous."

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told reporters Friday night that Vicki White, a 25-year veteran at the department, left the local detention center with Casey Cole White at 9:41 a.m. He said she told other officials she was going to drop him off at the courthouse for a mental health evaluation and then was going to seek medical attention because she wasn't feeling well. Despite having the same last name, the two are not related.

Shortly after 11 a.m., someone found her patrol vehicle in a parking lot of a shopping center. At 3:30 p.m., officials became aware that no one had been able to contact her, and that the inmate had not been returned to custody.

How long did it take for them to connect a stolen car to where they found the orange car? Jeez o flip!
It "might" be a car that was not used frequently and just noticed that it wasn't in a garage or similar. I would like to know when it was reported stolen since they were asking about any stolen cars in the area at that time.

It might have been reported stolen right away, but LE didn't want the Whites to know they knew it could have been stolen by them because they would dump it quicker.

My friend and I went to a yard sale last Saturday and saw a tall guy with a short lady. Because of the light rain off and on, they were wearing hoodies and you couldn't see their faces. I said "what if they are the fugitives?" Friend said "going to yard sales? I don't think so!" :giggling:
Not going to be finding him clothes at a yard sale, most likely. But that would be a way to get stuff while on the run, wouldn't it? Not as much chance of being caught on camera.

THIS CASE!!!!

RUMOR ALERT: There are tweets saying that multiple people heard on Evansville scanners that the fugitives were found in Evansville.

I can't imagine they stayed in Evansville for almost a week, but there's been so many tweets about it that I decided it was worth mentioning.
