Maxwell's attorney's have been fighting that & have thus far been unsuccessful since her name is not in any of the disclosure presented in the Florida case.

I find it extremely odd when they were the closest/tightest at one point that she was not mentioned/protected so was it intended not to cover her so she could be charged? I mean do we know all of the details? I haven't read the links, haven't had a chance.

I wonder about legalities with such things. I mean can you blanket cover anyone and everyone like that without naming them and having agreements with each, etc.?

By 2008 I don't believe she was still with him but I don't have a link. She began seeing Watts and that is how she got invited to Chelsea Clinton's wedding, I believe.

If the agreement covers D and P. A. I expect it will cover her too but we will have to see if it is brought up in the trial.

Annie Farmer's evidence has finished now. With the judge discounting the New Mexico incident it has also become evident that nothing relating to Maxwell occurred in NY as she was not even present. Epstein paid for her flights to and from NM.

So I guess the prosecution will be finishing today and the Defence will begin next week probably.

GHISLAINE MAXWELL, 58, is charged with one count of enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, one count of conspiracy to entice a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, one count of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, one count of conspiracy to transport a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, and two counts of perjury, each of which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

As someone who has followed the story of Epstein for many years it makes me sad to think that this behavior isn't in the forefront of all media. This case may have started in the early 90's before internet & cell phones but the severity of the abuse should worry parents more because technology has enabled these predators to continue exploiting our children.

When will we, as a society, start putting childrens needs first?

I had my first mobile phone in '97 and the internet was available to me at my work by about '98/99. The Farmers reported their incidents to police (the incident at Wexner's in Ohio and Annie's incident) and media but nothing was done. That was the chance but nothing happened. Not even an investigation? I don't know if it is even different now, maybe worse, as mobile phones and the internet have increased exploitation of minors in my opinion.

So my thought is they have not proved the travel part of the charges but not sure about the transport part. Can anyone explain the difference? I am assuming transport is within the state whereas travel is out of state. So transport could be sending a car for pick up for example perhaps?

I know they got the Mar a Lago HR in to testify about Sky Robert's (I could not see the point of that) but what about Epstein HR?

I may be wrong but I thought these recent financial settlements were from his executors and it came about after his death. He apparently signed a new will two weeks before his death which put all his estate into the 1953 trust. 1953 is the year he was born I believe.

I may have got this wrong but am not sure if there were any settlements before his death or not.

Eta I did get it wrong. I looked back to his deal in 2008. This 2018 Guardian article appears to say he did pay some victims compensation in 2008 after his plea deal.

I don't believe she's ever been characterized as suicidal. Ian's words may have been taken out of context, imo. She's isolated due to her high profile status is how I've interpreted it. Jails are not luxury spaces and someone who is accustomed to the finer things in life may be quick to complain about her current living arrangement.

Why no visitors allowed? I have never heard that before. Maybe Covid as she has been in jail since July 2020 I think. So 18 months with no visitors. Basically solitary confinement.

I know here that if a visitor is being held in certain areas they are not allowed visitors. One of which are inmates on ongoing trials due to logistics and limited visiting hours.
