Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

I think it was closer to home but it certainly could have been someone nearby, an acquaintance or stalker. It also could be a total stranger or sk but I don't think so.

I think it was thought about ahead of time but not sure by how much. Not for a long time. It was messy. I think the person knew who all and what they needed to take care of to get away. Meaning they knew the occupants, layout, dog, etc.
Well it was overkill. Anger. Serial killers have killed that way in a seemingly personal way. But I agree. I don't think that's the case. How long had they been thinking about it?. I think it took some planning. The overkill IMO being personal intense anger that who knows how long it was bottled up for. I consider a stalker personal.

I was just reading a theory that may have been born from a rumor, but as speculation it makes sense.

The 911 call could have been for one of the surviving roommates who fainted, rather than one of the deceased.

Yeah I don't get the jump to an sk really. There aren't any others that seem to tie convincingly in any way. People have dug and found a stabbing or two and not even that close to there, etc.

I think the fact it is four people is why some are thinking that way. I also think the Bundy thing is a reason but that is so unconnected in any way other than he killed several students once, it sure doesn't mean anyone who does is an sk like Bundy. This seems more like someone who kills their own family. Or one member of a family and then the others because he killed the one. Or they were in the way of the one.

I think the other reason people think sk is because it "appears" cops have no clue who did this. My bet is they do know. The longer it goes though, the more I have to wonder if they do...

I don't see it. There were two roommates and possibly a bf. One faints and they don't hear her say what for first or wonder what caused it or find her near the victims so the remaining roommates know what caused it? I can't make that work but I am on my 6th day of work in a row and pretty wiped. Maybe I'm missing something in that theory?

TBH I did see some stumbling. Very clearly when they are at the truck ordering. They did appear drunk to me, but probably because I was specifically looking for it.

Also from the video/interview, when the girls left, he said that he asked the guy if he just gave them their food without them paying, to which he said yes because they had to go. But the girls would have paid for their food when they ordered it, like everyone else. The video clearly shows them paying.

I'm pretty sure the hoodie guy that left IMMEDIATELY after them is one guy who investigators have said is not involved. But his behavior is more suspicious to me.

The guy interviewed does seem like a strange dude. Kind of like, "I have to prove I'm 'better' than these people." But I don't know. He's not super suspicious to me.

Just my thoughts.

Here is a link to the full food truck video if anyone hasn't seen it: PLUNDER TRUE CRIME on TikTok
More clarification from judgey sober guy. I’m feeling way more comfortable about him now.

What if they saw what was going on in the house and one roommate fainted because she was in total shock and then the boyfriend or whoever it was that came over and called 911 said “come help me she’s fainted” and maybe they even said because they just saw grizzly murder, but they didn’t share that part. We’ll find out when the 911 calls comes out. Just speculating on how in the world these people were killed in a bloody way and the 911 call was about somebody passed out. It just doesn’t make sense.

I agree on the part that it doesn't make sense that they thought a bloody body/bodies were just unconscious.

I mean it with respect but other than in novels like Gone with the Wind or movies, how often have you, I or anyone actually seen anyone faint at the sight of something? Seriously. Maybe go into shock, maybe lose their marbles/coping ability in that moment but not faint. One is more likely to faint or feel lightheaded from hunger or heat and even then fainting I think is rare, wooziness more common.

Sorry but I really think that far fetched. There were two roommates. They managed to call friend/s or someone did after seeing something and hadn't fainted yet then. They said something when calling the friends regarding what it was about I'm sure.

I do get it not making sense though. The more I think about it, the more it bothers me. I mean we have blood dripping outside the home. Kind of hard to believe they saw only something that made them think someone was simply unconscious. I guess though I would have to say it more likely they went into denial of what they were seeing more than I can believe someone fainted and they called 911 not about the dead victims but about a passed out roommate who fainted.

I'm sure it will make sense when the cops are ready to release more information.

I don’t mind that you think it’s far-fetched. I think it’s possible when someone is in shock.

We can agree to disagree.

As authorities continue to investigate the grisly stabbings that left four University of Idaho students dead inside their home earlier this month, police said that detectives have now moved five vehicles from the crime scene to a storage location where they will continue to examine them and process evidence.

"Today, as part of the ongoing homicide investigation and original search warrant, detectives relocated five vehicles from within the police perimeter to a more secure long-term storage location to continue processing evidence," the Moscow Police Department announced in a news release posted on Tuesday.

The Wednesday vigil to honor four University of Idaho students killed Nov. 13 has been moved to the Kibbie Dome on the UI campus.

With forecasts of heavy snow and strong winds all day Wednesday across the region, the university decided to move the 5 p.m. event indoors.

Vigils will be held simultaneously in Boise, Idaho Falls, Coeur d’Alene and McCall. Visit uidaho.edu/remember for details.

The university encourages alumni and supporters nationwide to turn on their porchlights and stadium lights in solidarity to remember Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. The vigil will be livestreamed at uidaho.edu/live.

I don't see any evidence that they know who did this murder. It's just horrifying that he's out there acting like nothing is wrong!

“We do not have a name of a person or persons who are actual suspects.” Prosecuting attorney in Moscow, Idaho tells me they have made progress eliminating possible suspects – but don’t have a current suspect or person of interest in the University of Idaho murders.

So now the "targeted" comment is also clarified.

Prosecuting Attorney Bill Thompson says "targeted" was perhaps not the best word to use in relation to the Moscow, Idaho murders. He says the residence was targeted, but they don’t have evidence of a specific individual being targeted.
Interesting. Opposite claim here...

:thud:

I'm done posting about my amateur speculations about this case! The information keeps changing!

May an arrest happen SOON! Whatever happened, whoever did it - we're less safe with this monster walking among us!!!!!!!
I am not convinced the perp was male. I believe LE knows a LOT more than what they have made public.

😭

He added, "My wife's biggest fear, part of the reason we didn't have a funeral, is because she couldn't be guaranteed that that monster was going to not be there."
