Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

1) outside on the balcony in the dark corner.
2) on the ground floor in the utility room area where the water heater/ furnace might be located. Killer didn't realize the 2 survivors were in their rooms asleep with their bedroom doors locked.
3) step into the bathtub in a dark bathroom, pull the shower curtain all or most of the way closed. Risky, but if someone is using the toilet to pee after drinking beer, they are most likely not going to be paying attention to a shower curtain arrangement.
4) in a closet
5) crawl under a bed and wait. Even better if their are a few boxes under the bed to help someone hide. How many people look under their bed before climbing in it to sleep?
6) in one of the 2 empty bedrooms- the empty one across from X's room, or K's old room.
7) outside, in a car. Either the Elantra or another vehicle. Maybe one that perp didn't own, but it had been left unlocked or he had tools to pick locks.

The fairy lights on the living room wall would have provided a dim light for an intruder to find their way around part of the second floor.
( the floor where X and E were sleeping.)

All MOO.
I've mentioned before that I had a stalker who went through an attic crawlspace from my own closet and hid in the attic! I don't know how much attic space this house had with all its renovations, but it's a possibility.

Does anyone think there may have been 2 killers? One for each floor? Just throwing it out there.

I just can't shake the feeling that a female was involved in helping commit these crimes and i don't know why I am feeling that.
I don't know about a female however I've considered two men to be involved since Ethan was overpowered. Not knowing how intoxicated he was may have played a part in it though.

"From the toxicology, you could learn a great deal about where the decedents were during the hours before their death, what, if any, drugs they were taking, their state of mind," Dr. Michael Baden said. "Did they take drugs that could have caused them to sleep and not wake during the encounter?"

If you can believe this, I fell asleep last night trying to plot out 2 killers. I can't make it work. Too much noise. I won't discount it, but I'm set on one. But anything is possible.

The Hyundai they're looking for had four guys in it IIRC.

Idaho murders: FBI adds agents to unsolved slayings as 10,000 tips flood in, police say

The FBI has assigned additional agents to investigate the unsolved, Nov. 13 murders of four University of Idaho students, according to local police.

The Moscow Police Department (MPD), which is leading the investigation into the stabbing deaths of students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves and Madison Mogen, said in a Monday press release that 60 FBI agents and two members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) have been assigned to the case.

On Dec. 15, the last time police issued a press release, there were 46 FBI agents and two BAU analysts assigned to the case.

"We have had right around 10,000 tips come in. We're reviewing all those tips. We're checking to ensure we have individuals to look at all of those tips, and any piece of evidence they can link to this case, they're doing so," MPD Chief James Fry said in a Monday video.

A crashed white Hyundai Elantra sits on Seneca Road near W. 7th. This vehicle is the same make and model as the vehicle of interest in the Moscow, Idaho murders. .
Many people in the community have wondered if this crashed vehicle could be related to the Moscow, Idaho murders.

We reached out to the Eugene Police Department to get a statement about this vehicle. Here is what police are saying: “We are aware of it and have sent the vehicle information to Moscow Idaho. We will refer everybody to call Moscow Idaho police for any additional information.” ~EPD.

If they were sleeping in bed, as the coroner stated early on, it wouldn’t take much to overpower any of them. Though there’s been a lot of special about where they were actually found.

I also believe it’s one male killer. Not discounting anything though. Including planners, getaway drivers, etc. Though I personally think a single male individual is most likely.

About 5,000 of those tips are probably: I think it was my ex-husband/boyfriend, I'm a psychic and I see a fat guy 6'10" tall, I heard it's a serial killer who did this and that and that murder.

People don't use this as a way to get back at an ex, ply your psychic abilities for attention and just rumors.

I hope they are looking at any Hyundai's sold or junked since they made the announcement.

I went to Carmax's website a few days ago and did a general search for Hyundai Elantras from those years for sale. nationwide. There were over 800. Not all of them were white cars. For some reason, Illinois had a lot of white Elantras for sale. There was nothing in car info that stated how long the cars had been listed on the site or when they had been acquired by Carmax.

A driver, a lookout at/near the house, and 2 killers. KIllers enter through unlocked slider- one takes the 3rd floor and the other the 2nd. The front door on the ground floor had a passcode that needed to be entered. That passcode was apparently known by many people who did not live there , had partied at the house, and was no secret.

Where are you two getting this info about 4 people? I haven't seen it anywhere.
