Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

I don't have a source other than a friend on the Bills board, but I trust him. However, I can't stand 100% behind its accuracy. This is the questionnaire he put up on Facebook:

Hello, my name is Bryan and I am inviting you to participate in a research project that seeks to understand how emotions and psychological traits influence decision-making when committing a crime. In particular, this study seeks to understand the story behind your most recent criminal offense, with an emphasis on your thoughts and feelings throughout your experience...

At the time of the crime, please indicate the following:

Were you employed? Y/N
Were you under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Y/N
Where are you experiencing? Any issues with your family? Y/N
Were you affiliated with a gang? Y/N
Was this your first offense? Y/N
Did you struggle with or fight the victim? Y/N

Open ended questions:
1. Did you prepare for the crime before leaving your home? Please detail what you were thinking and feeling at that point.
2. How did you travel to in enter the location at which the crime occurred?
3. Before making your move, how did you approach the victim or target? Please detail what you were thinking and feeling.
4. What was the first movie made in order to accomplish your goal? Please detail any thoughts and feelings at this point.
5. Before leaving, is there anything else you did?
6. How did you leave the scene?
7. After committing the crime, what we’re you thinking and feeling?

It appears that this is true based on the 48 Hours episode.

How would being an incel give him a motive?
(Autocorrect changed incel to uncle :ROFLMAO: )

I could see that being a stalker could give him a motive.

I'm not being snarky, I'm not sure everybody here knows what an Incel is. Incel stands for Involuntary Celibate. They have a reddit forum that I've never visited, but I've heard of several times before these murders. Supposedly, they have a lot of hatred towards women. It seems pretty obvious that if you can get angry so easily and complain, then the problem is probably you. Perhaps seeing a psychologist would be a better way to go, rather than just talking to like minded men. What is the reason women don't want to have anything to do with you?

I think she's saying that being an Incel doesn't mean he's a murderer. Some also said they think he has Aspergers, as though that could be a "reason" when it's absolutely not!

People who want to murder have something else in them that puts them in a different category than the rest of society. In my opinion, of course.

It was a general statement for people who may not know what an Incel is. Being an Incel doesn't mean you're a murderer. However, it is another piece of the puzzle.

This is just my (admittedly grumpy) take on this. At some point, labels cease to matter and cold, hard facts and evidence convict a person.

None of today's en vogue labels excuse anyone from anything.

I just tend to get annoyed with labels across the board, sorry. :)

I feel the same about generalizing people of similar types. There's an old song by Albert Hammond called "Names, Tags, Numbers, Labels" that describes the problem with it. Each person has traits of many others, but is a complex individual at the same time.

Here's more detail as to why the court case was removed public view (BBM)

Officials in Latah County, Idaho, on Tuesday announced that they had temporarily taken the case file off of the state's internet-based portal, citing unspecified "security concerns," a move several legal experts told Fox News Digital was highly unusual.

"For security reasons, case information for State v. Kohberger is momentarily unavailable in the iCourt Portal," a court spokesman told reporters, days after the case files were taken down. "To ensure public access to this information, a PDF report listing events in the case is now posted to the top of this case's entry on our Cases of Interest page."

A preliminary hearing for his case was set for June 26. He waived his right to a speedy preliminary hearing, with his defense team asking the court for time to prepare for the case.

I saw this on a news forum. Not posting it to be political, as the author mainly writes about American politics, but she devoted this entire article to the murders, Kohlberger, genealogy sites and DNA. She is shooting down some of the arguments the defense might try to make.

I read that article this morning and reading it again, it still makes me a little dizzy, lol!
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but she accepts it as a fact that LE came to know his name through genealogy, that is, LE knew it prior to Nov 29th and then she assumes she knows the reason why such info wasn't in the affidavit, but to me, the fact that such info wasn't in the affidavit is the reason I don't accept it as a fact that they used genealogy "in the first place", lol!

I'm not convinced they used it either.

Anewly unsealed search warrant in the University of Idaho murders case revealed a list of items that police seized from suspect Bryan Kohberger's apartment, offering new details on potential evidence as authorities seek to prove his alleged involvement in the killings.

Kohberger has maintained his innocence in the case, with his former public defender Jason LaBar saying in a statement that Kohberger was "eager to be exonerated."

The items seized included possible hair strands, a nitrite-type black glove, a computer tower and cuttings from an uncased pillow of a "reddish/brown stain," according to the warrant. The search warrant and warrant application can be read below.
