Info from the first article is reportedly "made up". Steve Goncalves denies speaking to this reporter.
Not sure who to believe about that, since he apparently talks to everyone else. But also not sure I believe the info / reporter. So basically a whole lot of nothing.

Two surviving housemates in an off-campus
University of Idaho rental home in Moscow, Idaho, were awake and texting each other during a massacre that left four of their friends dead last November, according to a new report.
"Steve had been told that the two survivors allegedly had not only been awake while the killings had taken place but that they had heard everything," the report states. "More astonishingly, his grand-jury sources alleged that the two girls had been texting one another as the murderer methodically went from one room to the next."
The revelation, from a lengthy Air Mail story is attributed to grand jurors on the case, who allegedly leaked the information to Goncalves' father, although the reporter concedes that neither Goncalves nor his attorney agreed to comment.
The court has issued a restrictive gag order on the case. And neither Steve Goncalves nor his attorney immediately responded to questions from Fox News Digital about the report's claims – however the family in a statement called the claims a "very poor attempt at getting attention" and "obviously fictional."

Investigative reporter accused of spreading falsehoods in University of Idaho murder series
The father of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students murdered last November, accused an investigative journalist of spreading falsehoods in a series of TV appearances.
In a digital publication series, "The Eyes of a Killer," Howard Blum reports on the Moscow Murders. He claims that Steve Goncalves was conducting his own investigation into the murders in conjunction with the official investigation conducted by law enforcement, Shannon Gray, the attorney for the Goncalves family, said. He went on to say that Blum accuses Goncalves of taking liberties with the case, potentially jeopardizing Byran Kohberger's case.
In a statement from the Goncalves family lawyer, Steve Goncalves denounced much of what Blum states in his publications, saying Blum is profiting from his dead daughter and his family's grief.
"I just want to make it very clear to the public that we have not spoken to Mr. Blum about the death of our daughter. . . This is nothing more than grandstanding and a very, very poor attempt at getting attention. This piece is obviously fictional but written in poor taste. The Goncalves Family would ask that everyone please respect the victims of this tragedy and continue to support trustworthy journalism," Goncalves said in a statement to NonStop Local.
Blum has contacted the Goncalves family for an interview, which they say they have declined multiple times.
