Girl last seen in Manchester in October 2019; police seek tips from public

Manchester police are seeking tips from the public about the disappearance of a girl not seen in more than two years.

Harmony Montgomery, 7, was last seen in a home in Manchester in October 2019, when she was 5, police said.

Police said they first learned Harmony went missing earlier this week. Chief Allen Aldenberg did not specify who reported the girl missing but said his department has been in touch with multiple family members and will continue to speak with them.

Aldenberg said police are not searching for any adult or vehicle in connection with the case. Investigators are focusing on the whereabouts of Harmony.

"No time is a good time for a child to go missing," Aldenberg said. "I'm begging the community. I don't care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it's irrelevant. Call us."

Aldenberg said at a news conference Friday his detectives are working to confirm where Harmony is from and where she went to school before her disappearance.

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

"We need help," Aldenberg said. "This remains a very active investigation."

I watched a clip on this last night and watched them take out that refrigerator. That made me feel creepy as far as new tenants, also. I also Saw the interview with the mom and she has always believed harmony was alive and now she doesn’t. Sounds like they told her something about the tip, too. 😢
She did say it is clear now they are looking for a body or something on that order and yes, it sure does seem they told her something that changed her way of thinking.

That would make as much sense as anything. Something seems to have provided new info or cause for this search and the mom's thought now that she is deceased.
with their mom and Harmony's dad being in jail, they would most likely have access to the kids to talk to them about what they know. These interviewers are good at getting info out of these kids, even if they have been coached. They will ask seemingly unrelated questions and then peel back the info little by little.

I thought the other kids' mom was released on bail?

They rearrested her on another charge right after she was released, but not sure now if she is in or out at the moment. They might have interviewed the kids at any of the times she was in though. It might have taken a bit to get enough info for a search warrant or to convince the owner they needed access. Plus, I doubt she has custody of them right now.

This would explain the change in her mom

I read all that and see her beautiful face and just think how awful people are, she was just a baby and was living in he77.

So this was the second warrant related to this apartment. I'm going to guess they got hits on evidence from the first time that came back allowing them to look further and take things they couldn't the first time.

Apparently the apartment DOES have a current resident...and several residents since they lived there.

The apartment’s current resident, who wants to be identified only as “Ginger,” shared photos of the home’s interior with Boston 25 News.

The current resident does not wish to be identified.

But in an interview, “Ginger” told me Harmony’s case is on her mind.

“It’s heartbreaking to be in an apartment that you think something might have happened in,” Ginger said.

Apartment 2 is a small one bedroom unit.

In the kitchenette stands a new refrigerator, replacing the previous fridge that was wrapped in black plastic and removed from the apartment Tuesday.

Ginger is not sure why police grabbed the refrigerator.

“That fridge is supposedly a newer fridge,” she said. It wasn’t here when they were here. A lot of the stuff, the maintenance man was telling me, was not here when they were here. There were three tenants before me.”

In the kitchenette, in a small front hallway, and in the bedroom, it was clear that police removed sections of the tiles and carpets.

In the bedroom, police seemed to be most interested the small closet.

“The closet was all just ripped up,” Ginger said. “They took my things out of the closet. Then they took the walls off the closet. There was a shelf and a bar, that’s all gone.”

A maintenance worker is helping to rebuild the closet and replace flooring.

In the bathroom, Ginger told me police cut a hole in the ceiling over the tub so they could access water pipes.

She also said door knobs and shower faucets were removed, collected and replaced.

That's weird stuff to take.

I can’t think of a good reason why the refrigerator would be important if it wasn’t there when Harmony was living there. The closet and the drain pipes? House of horrors, is what it sounds like.
You know I wondered even when I thought the frig was there when they lived there, why the frig and I thought would LE maybe take it just to cover something else they were taking out (putting other evidence inside)? That way no one watching outside for bystanders, recording with their cell phones, or even news reporters could know what all they were taking out....? Another thought I had was taking such things gives the case some buzz and just may worry a possible perp about if they took that, what else did they take and what all did they take...

I feel like they have boxes and much easier methods to accomplish "no one seeing", instead of wheeling out a whole dang refrigerator for no reason.

Honestly I agree and that's why when it crossed my mind when first hearing this I didn't say anything, and told myself no, they wouldn't do that BUT a picture is worth a thousand words, it isn't just that, it can get talk going, worry a "perp" about what else they took if they took the frig, etc...

I told myself the thought was farfetched but on the other hand, look at some of the cases and how intrusive (good and bad) interest is, bystanders, people yelling in the Petito case and watching the Laundries and staking out their home, etc. The world is changing and LE and anything, I'm sorry doesn't always keep up with it. AND/OR they can also use that interest if learning how by taking a frig or something else or even executing a warrant here knowing it will be covered and blasted out on the internet for speculation...

I maybe am giving too much credit and I did dismiss it but they could use such to distract, send thoughts in another direction, etc., etc.

If the frig was truly NEVER there when they lived there, then why would they take it? IF that is true then that is more incompetence to not have done their homework and realized it wasn't there when they lived there...

And I agree it is probably farfetched and yes, they could take evidence out in bags, etc. So what then is your thought of why they would take a frig then years later...?

It was probably just in a warrant to take for testing, possibly not knowing at the time it was newer. In serving a search warrant, they don't take time for explanations. They let the testing answer the questions.

Father of missing Harmony Montgomery indicted on 7 new charges

The father of missing New Hampshire girl Harmony Montgomery was indicted on seven new charges.

Adam Montgomery, 30, was slated to appear in court for a status hearing but he was not present to face a judge. He now faces charges including two counts of armed career criminal, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, theft by unauthorized taking, and one count of receiving stolen property.

During the hearing, potential dates for three separate trials were discussed with the prosecution. A motion to sever a second-degree assault charge from cases related to misdemeanors including child endangerment and gun charges was granted.

“In that case it made sense the second-degree assault had to do with a time -- a distinct time period --when Harmony’s whereabouts were known. The misdemeanors all have to do with a later time period where Harmony’s whereabouts were unknown,” New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jesse O’Neill said.

Neither Adam nor Kayla have been charged in connection with Harmony’s disappearance.

Kayla is free on an appearance bond while she awaits trial. Adam remains in custody.
