Girl last seen in Manchester in October 2019; police seek tips from public

Manchester police are seeking tips from the public about the disappearance of a girl not seen in more than two years.

Harmony Montgomery, 7, was last seen in a home in Manchester in October 2019, when she was 5, police said.

Police said they first learned Harmony went missing earlier this week. Chief Allen Aldenberg did not specify who reported the girl missing but said his department has been in touch with multiple family members and will continue to speak with them.

Aldenberg said police are not searching for any adult or vehicle in connection with the case. Investigators are focusing on the whereabouts of Harmony.

"No time is a good time for a child to go missing," Aldenberg said. "I'm begging the community. I don't care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it's irrelevant. Call us."

Aldenberg said at a news conference Friday his detectives are working to confirm where Harmony is from and where she went to school before her disappearance.

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

"We need help," Aldenberg said. "This remains a very active investigation."

Kayla Montgomery, stepmother of missing NH girl Harmony Montgomery, released from jail on bond

Kayla Montgomery — the stepmother of missing 7-year-old Harmony Montgomery — walked out of a New Hampshire jail today following a judge’s decision to allow her bond in cases connected to the disappearance of the little girl.

The order allowing bond in the cases was issued Friday and follows a bail hearing on Thursday.

Kayla Montgomery was released from jail around 7:30 p.m., Friday.

In her ruling, Judge Amy Messer says Kayla should be released given her limited criminal history and close ties to New Hampshire.

well, it looks like the time in jail did her some good, so there's that. Hopefully the next story isn't that she od'd as soon as she got out.

I wonder what she lied about. I'm thinking they are doing and bringing what they can to pressure the truth out of her/them or "pit" them against each other...

Father of Harmony Montgomery appears in family court over parental rights

Adam Montgomery was appearing in family court, where cameras are not allowed. Harmony's mother, Crystal Sorey, was also there, and as she left the courthouse, she said the topic was Adam Montgomery's parental rights, something she said should be terminated.

"So that we can terminate his rights and get her the help that she needs moving forward," Sorey said. "But we're kind of stuck in a standstill until she's found."

The hearing was continued to a later date, so no decision was made. Sorey said she had an opportunity to address the court.

"I said I'm going to continue to do what I'm doing," she said. "I'm going to stay on track. We will find her regardless of who's talking or who's not talking. God is on our side. The law is on our side. We will find her."

Adam Montgomery is being held on charges of abusing Harmony, but he is not facing charges in connection with her disappearance.

Search for missing New Hampshire girl Harmony Montgomery leads officials to father's former Manchester home

Law enforcement officers from state and federal agencies swarmed a Manchester, New Hampshire, apartment building on Tuesday in connection with the disappearance of 8-year-old Harmony Montgomery.

Officials said investigators on Tuesday took over 644 Union St., which is the location where the girl's father, Adam Montgomery, and his estranged wife Kayla Montgomery, previously lived.

FBI personnel and investigators in Tyvek suits were seen working on the second floor of the apartment building. While Sky5 flew overhead around 11:30 a.m., it appeared that investigators were bringing out pieces of interior surfaces.

Numerous boxes were arranged on tables under some of the tents outside the building.

"I heard an alert on my phone, and I looked at it, and I was just like, 'Oh my God. They’re somewhere. They have a new lead,' which is what we always hoped for every day," said Kristin Rosati who has spent time searching for Harmony.

"We hope this is one step closer to finding Harmony and getting her the justice she deserves," said Crystal Sorey, Harmony's mother.

Why I wonder would it take 6 months to search former residences or WAS this a tip or a lead of some kind?

maybe the unit is now available? As in maybe the previous tenants have now moved out and now they are free to search as they wish.
Maybe. Or maybe if they were here before they got a hit on an item which now lets them get a more extensive warrant to pull down interior walls, etc.? If they've been there before, maybe this is a first, I honestly don't know. If it is a first, six months was a long time before looking here...

If it was that they were waiting for a tenant change, it seems they aren't too worried about anything. Maybe just a "just in case" thing while it's vacant. Testing from prior (if there was any done to get back?) might just now be back, too. Could also be a tip, like you said.

Harmony Montgomery: Refrigerator seized in search of missing girl’s former home

Authorities seized several items, including a refrigerator, on Tuesday while searching a New Hampshire home where missing girl Harmony Montgomery used to live with her father and stepmother, according to WFXT and officials.

Harmony’s mother, Crystal Sorey, told WFXT on Tuesday that the search in New Hampshire was “rough.”

“I know in my heart this is no longer a rescue mission,” she said. “They’re looking for a body.”

taking a fridge could mean any of the things we were guessing on.

This is definitely a recovery mission. I have felt that way since the very beginning.
Having not been seen for more than two years, never did have much hope in this one.

Taking the refrigerator is definitely not typical...

I watched a clip on this last night and watched them take out that refrigerator. That made me feel creepy as far as new tenants, also. I also Saw the interview with the mom and she has always believed harmony was alive and now she doesn’t. Sounds like they told her something about the tip, too. 😢
