Manchester police are seeking tips from the public about the disappearance of a girl not seen in more than two years.

Harmony Montgomery, 7, was last seen in a home in Manchester in October 2019, when she was 5, police said.

Police said they first learned Harmony went missing earlier this week. Chief Allen Aldenberg did not specify who reported the girl missing but said his department has been in touch with multiple family members and will continue to speak with them.

Aldenberg said police are not searching for any adult or vehicle in connection with the case. Investigators are focusing on the whereabouts of Harmony.

"No time is a good time for a child to go missing," Aldenberg said. "I'm begging the community. I don't care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it's irrelevant. Call us."

Aldenberg said at a news conference Friday his detectives are working to confirm where Harmony is from and where she went to school before her disappearance.

Harmony is estimated to be approximately 4 feet tall and 50 pounds. Investigators said she has blonde hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses.

"We need help," Aldenberg said. "This remains a very active investigation."

Yeah, he told lots of people in the family, including Harmony's mother. It took him over a week, but he did call family services.

Why didn't Adam's uncle SAY SOMETHING? It's so sad. I know it's hard to "turn in" family members, but this can be the result if you don't!

I think he feels how he does here is beyond crucial and is worried that one thing wrong will find justice not served for Harmony. I know that stress or feeling even if you are not a witness or the key one and even with VI statements and it took me OUT. I see it in him. It matters THAT much to him, he is putting iTHAT weight on himself. Wrongly he also probably guilts self and wonders what he could have done differently like GOOD people do when he is not responsible, Adam is.

I think he did well. Defense was smart enough not to go too hard at him which is surprising. The sarcasm question was ridiculous.

And it is ONLY Adam that claimed Harmony had her hand over the baby's mouth. I never believe perp's statements/excuses. I wouldn't doubt though that she may have been trying to quiet him knowing it would p*ss daddy off that he was making nose when he was trying to take a sh*t in peace/do drugs(?), etc.

Just some of the disturbing thoughts this case causes in one's mind.

He'd have bashed her around for any reason and likely did often.

It's a hard one to watch although thank goodness not into the worst of the worst details yet. I think I'll bail then if I'm even around to be able to watch.

This was hard enough.

I felt for the guy big time. He was stressed and struggled but did well imo.

Thank you. Not sure if I will get to but I should go back and watch that. They really got moving then on this trial this morning. Openings half done at least before I was up and key witness already testified. By the time I was in the mood to take a look, the uncle was on. Didn't see all of his but think I went in at a time where I saw most all.

I had no clue they like started out with Crystal. Normally I'd expect all investigators, maybe DCF and THEN these family members as a big ending but what do I know, I guess they lay the groundwork for when investigators get up with the full findings.

I'm so used to trial delays and breaks and hold ups that wow, kind of surprised they already had her up.

Not that it didn't take this case long enough to get to trial. it did.

I doubt I will go back and watch openings. I've seen people saying the details were awful. Seeing people talk of it was enough. So I'll just ask you, do you think one side's opening was stronger than the other's? Not that openings are testimony but just hoping the State is doing a top job.

Tim Callery reports that jurors heard Sorey testify that she originally lost custody of Harmony in 2014 when the girl was 2 months old. She admitted she's a recovering drug addict and wasn't in the right frame of mind to care for her daughter at the time.

She said the two reconnected in March 2016 before Harmony returned to foster care 10 months later. Sorey became emotional when she recalled the last time she saw her daughter, which was in April 2019, right before Easter.

Sorey said the two spoke during a video call, and after that call, Adam Montgomery cut off all contact with her. She said she tried for months to reach Adam Montgomery to see her daughter, but she could never track him down.

I myself am still surprised by that and behind the eight ball on it catching up still. Trials should go like this but I think we've gotten used to months long trials like Dulos just for one and many others we can name, or weeks long like Murdaugh.

I woke up to openings basically done and haven't caught up since.

I think investigators and any experts will take a lot longer but probably not days on end and who knows if defense will do a lot with their case or just claim no proof it wasn't Kayla etc. and not proven...

I don't even think intricate trials with a lot of sh*t should take months like Dulos. Not necessary but defense is private paid by big money so not hard to understand why that one will draw out forever...

Testimony continues this morning.

Harmony's mother, Crystal Sorey, took the stand Thursday and talked about the last time she saw Harmony in April 2019.

She said she tried desperately for months to get in touch with Adam Montgomery and his now-estranged wife Kayla Montgomery to find her daughter.

Sorey said she even reached out to Adam's uncle Kevin Montgomery, who also testified Thursday. He talked about what he saw on Harmony's face in the summer of 2019.

"She had a black eye," Kevin Montgomery testified.

Kevin Montgomery said he told a number of people about what happened, including the state Division of Children, Youth and Families.

Kayla Montgomery is set to take the stand Friday.

Testimony should resume around 9 a.m.

Court officers say Adam Montgomery declined transport to court again Friday.

It is interesting to note that his absence goes completely unacknowledged by the court, with no explanation to the jury, who is not informed that he is currently incarcerated, which is why when he does appear, he is in civilian clothes and why the leg shackle discussion on Monday were so important to the judge, to clarify to Adam Montgomery that his shackles could signal to the jury that he is incarcerated. He said he understood.

Kayla Montgomery is on her way to court right now, according to court officers.

HERE IS SOME INTERESTING INFO that I don't think we knew. Adam on Feb 7th was going to go to court but had a fit when he found out he needed to be strip searched before leaving for court in transport. Repeatedly. He then said he f'ing was not going! I am watching ickedmel who has the trial live and he shared a filing that came from the online SM account of The Docket. I think The Docket is on Twitter, unsure, but the person gets all actual court documents from the docket in cases. So it is fact.

Funny the judge didn't order his appearance but maybe knew he'd make a public issue of strip searches or some such... Just my guess... She'd basically be ordering he go which would then be ordering he get a strip search i a way wouldn't it...?

The bright side of him not appearing in court is that the people who know him don’t have to look at his face. I would have a hard time being in the same room with that monster.
