Authorities search for Missouri doctor who has been missing more than a week​

Authorities in a small Missouri town are searching for an emergency room physician a week-and-a-half after his mysterious disappearance.

Dr. John Forsyth, 49, was last heard from May 21. Police said he was reported missing when he failed to show up for work that day at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, a town of 3,100 residents deep in the Missouri Ozarks.

Forsyth’s black Infiniti was found in a remote area near an aquatic park in Cassville. The car was unlocked with his wallet, two phones and a laptop inside.

Several law enforcement agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, have joined in the search using people, dogs and drones. Forsyth’s family set up a Facebook page seeking information.

Richard Forsyth said his brother had been at the Cassville hospital for about 15 years. He described John Forsyth as a doting father who became engaged to his girlfriend just a couple of days before he disappeared.

Ok. I have been waiting to post this when I could properly look at it. I don't do fb so it took me a few days to get to one I have access to for these kinds of things

what I find interesting is that there are NO cameras that caught him leaving his car there. They are not even sure he left his car there himself. She verified with the sheriff's dept that no video exists. Did this info come from the brother that there was video of him? AND his car was notated as being parked in that very spot the day BEFORE he was reported missing due to a child lost in the park. They were taking notes of all vehicles parked there that day.

She stated that he had a video of his trailer that was parked there so I delved through hers to find it. What I did see was a Challenger motor home. While they are very nice, I would not call it a "luxury" model compared to many out there available. It's one of the nicest of the more economical ones. While 250k sounds luxurious, this is far from that at that price point. 500k to 1 million is very, very common for a new class A. Again, the "luxurious" . came from the brother. Envy??? Don't get me wrong, it is very nice, but far from what I would label "luxurious", especially with what is the average in the market right now. I guess he would think my nice, but far from luxurious camper would also be "luxurious". Nope, just basic, nice camper. Nicer of the low end, just like his seems to be.

I think she's an investigative reporter and was down there on another case when this one erupted and then got assigned to it. Can't get back on for a while to verify though.

I'm not sure who's doing the lying here.. Could be either side.. Or both

Also, the day the police first saw his vehicle parked there is the same day that he was missing.

Yes, the info that there's video of John came from Richard and I suppose one could speculate that it wasn't John who was driving his vehicle but that info is based on the colors of the clothing that the person is made out to be wearing compared to what John is known to have been wearing when he left the hospital.
Also, the day the police first saw his vehicle parked there is the same day that he was missing.

You might want to listen to what she says she has verified through the sheriff's dept. and why she was there the day prior.

Sure the sheriff's dept might have lied to her but all we have to go on is from the sheriff and the brother. That's it

I don't think anybody is lying... and I may be repeating myself but it appears to me that Richard has shared info as he's understood it to be, in other words, as he's come to understand it from LE.
It seems to me that there needs to be clarification from the sheriff and that reporter as to what the video does and does not show.

It's a very nice entry level class A. "Luxury" would be in the eye of the beholder.

John owned a home in Aurora. He renovated an old theater/auditorium or whatever it was in it's day. They were showing it all over the Springfield news in the days right after he was reported missing. I was where we were watching that market at the time he went missing. They were standing in front of it at times. I haven't seen anything saying he ever sold it but that is totally possible that he did.

How is this in any way saying he couldn't afford a home?? His divorce was JUST finalized.

John owned a home in Aurora. He renovated an old theater/auditorium or whatever it was in it's day. They were showing it all over the Springfield news in the days right after he was reported missing. I haven't seen anything saying he ever sold it but that is totally possible that he did.

That's interesting. All I know is that the sheriff said he lived in Springfield with his fiance.

Btw, the sheriff also said that among difficulties of the case is the fact that John wasn't from Cassville. Now what do you suppose he meant by that?

I read this and read Guessy's response to it. I haven't had time to look at all of course and apparently you haven't either based on her response.

EVERYTHING keeps coming back to Richard. I'll be fair and not say necessarily as a perp but as to false info fed to us all. And then why would that be...
