Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events
  • April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
  • December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
  • February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
  • February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
  • June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
  • July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
  • August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
  • September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
  • September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
  • September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.
  • September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
  • October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
  • October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
  • October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
  • October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
  • Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
  • November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
  • November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
  • December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
  • December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
  • December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
  • January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days
  • January 30, 2020 - Lori fails to produce JJ and Tylee

Teachers, principal, people from clogging, etc. said Emma and Tammy were close and almost inseparable so he expected she would have some love, tears, outcry for her mom and NOTHING in Emma's testimony of emotion for Tammy.

Worth watching.
 
Majority of it is the juror and so worth it. Lauren and John aren't much of it, the juror is. And thank God for jurors like him who saw what he saw. Very good because of him and his take on all of it.
 
Again very worth it due to the juror who shares even more than he did he first time. Mostly all of it is him sharing.

Finally made clear what a presiding juror is and that is the foreperson I wondered and don't doubt others did as well. Not sure why terms have to be changed from what the public knows but what else is new.

While watching them I had that weird feeling that they acted as though Tammy never even existed. I couldn’t put my finger on why. I still don’t know if they were programmed, they lack emotion, they’re scared, or all combined.

I know what you mean I think and I lack words for it and I'm guessing that is what you mean of not being able to put your finger on it. he was telling people that weren't even family how Tammy was going to die young (and probably saying God had further plans who knows) and probably telling even Tammy or kids that to a point or a different version, he was after all the one with vision... I think when told their mom was a zombie their way and programming perhaps has them not grieving her, she had to go, it wasn't HER after all. Even if it is something like that, I CANNOT wrap my head around it as you'd be bawling your eyes out that some evil spirit took over your beloved mother....

I think there is a lot here we are just never going to know and can only suspect and all who should go down will not.... Imo.

Hearing people talk how close Emma and Tammy were like in the back of class giggling it just does not fit with Emma at all. There is nothing not programmed about her. I wasn't a good job though that Chad did because she failed and so did Garth, it hurt him rather than helped him... Did you watch their testimony? I know all of us don't have time but if Chad or Prior though this would help Chad they were sadly mistaken. And almost every juror so far has said as much or close to it...
 
I am actually still just finishing his interview on HTC and am doing so as well worth a watch. I had seen most but hadn't finished it but left it up as worth doing so.

WTF? After a lifetime of NEVER using such a phrase I caved and find myself dong it all of the time now. Mr. never smile or any emotion except his duper's delight as Linda points out when it occurs very aptly, here we have a mug shot with him smiling as if a class photo or senior pic... He looks not himself and happy. PERHAPS is is the feeling of not being choked by the collar and tie and he is NOW a NEW MAN.

I think you nailed it. They had heard his prophecies she was going to die and just accepted it. Pre-programmed. Now Dad Chad is wrongly convicted he is the victim in their eyes. For Garth, who still lived at home, I guess it is a little harder to accept and he is the eldest right? A bit conflicted perhaps.

I haven't had time to watch any more juror interviews.

No but his Storm is LOL. He looks like he has lost weight. I thought that over the trial period he was slowly looking thinner as his clothes looked larger on him. He doesn't look unhappy. Would he have a tablet for phone calls like RA has who is also in solitary? Maybe that's why he is smiling as he and Lori could be in touch with each other now - IYKWIM :giggle:
 
Well I think I now understand why Prior has priors put the kids on the stand. Their testimony helped convict Chad and now could help the appeal.

We have to remember that Chad and Lori and most of those in his cult are master manipulators at getting followers to believe in them and his kids were part of that cult - Emma best friends and chatting with Lori in prison, putting money on her commissary account, almost a conspirator/little spy for her Dad.

I thought there was a long standing no contact order between them. I wonder if it's still in force.
