LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *GUILTY*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

Listening to a bit of the one I linked here earlier. I actually went into it when it was the midst and live so started over.

Also Holman talking of how manipulative he is and how he manipulates his family with religion she is mentioning from today.

I truly hope those that don't think so start to get a glimpse of the real monster RA is as this all comes out.

NO ONE from RA's family was THERE!
I saw a bit of that where she spoke to Aspen. He mentioned how when the jury were watching all of RAs confessions and shenanigans in his cell, the screens were turned away from the public gallery yet when it came to the girls, they showed all the crime scene pics and details to the whole court and he was not happy with that at all.

Any idea why he had no one there today?

An article I read here said he requested his family not be present. I haven't listened to anything just read the news article

What's New

Richard Allen was sentenced to 130 years in prison on Friday for the 2017 murders of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana. After the hearing, his attorney Jennifer Auger told reporters they plan to appeal the decision and seek a new trial.
Newsweek has contacted Auger by email for comment.

Why It Matters

Allen, 52, received the maximum penalty of 65 years for each count of murder for the killings of Abigail "Abby" Williams, 13, and Liberty "Libby" German, 14.
A relative dropped the eighth graders off at a hiking trail on February 13, 2017, but the girls never returned. Authorities released files from German's cell phone, which included two blurry photos and an audio clip of a man, believed to be Allen, saying, "Guys, down the hill." Their bodies, which had been stabbed, were found at the bottom of the hill the next day.

What To Know

Friday's sentencing hearing lasted less than two hours. After finding out Allen will have to serve his two 65-year terms consecutively, Auger told the media that Allen's legal team plans to release a more detailed statement, "but today is not the day for that," the Indy Star reports.

"Thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims. What they went through was unimaginable," Auger said.

It took five years for police to arrest Allen, who worked at a CVS Pharmacy in Delphi in 2022. The families of the victims said Allen even helped them print photos for the funeral free of charge.

Nearly everyone involved in this case, including law enforcement and the families of the teens, has been under a gag order that prohibited them from commenting on this case during or after Allen's trial. The gag order was lifted Friday after Allen's sentencing.

What People Are Saying

Nicholas McLeland, Carroll County Prosecutor, during a Friday press conference: "We're very happy with the jury's verdict. The judge's sentence is appropriate. As Judge [Frances] Gull stated in court, the aggravators outweigh the mitigators, and the heinous nature of this crime deserves a fully executed sentence."

Becky Patty, German's grandmother, in a victim impact statement on Friday, per ABC News: "I can never change my choice to let Libby and Abby go to the trails that day. I hope he lives with the same fear he caused Abby and Libby in the last hour of their lives."

Mike Patty, German's grandfather, to Allen in court Friday, per ABC News: "You could've taken accountability. You need to stand up and not appeal."

Diane Erskin, Williams' grandmother, Friday in court, per ABC News: "This is a day of great sadness for our family. We won't be going home to celebrate with champagne. I've watched her friends graduate college and wonder how many great-grandkids were murdered that day, too."

What Happens Next

At the time of publication, the Indiana State Police are holding a press conference on Allen's sentencing.

Where is says "Whats next for Richard Allen?" Is where it states he asked his family not to be there

No idea but I'm sure curious. Had an appt. and took up much of the day and daughter had to take me and she is staying over. I've not seen all of Lauren's either. I was past the part with Aspen but was a long way from watching it all and really haven't had time to look at much of any coverage.

I mean his family did not even show to give statements, I mean that side can as well pretty sure, like to his character, etc... Friends, coworkers, etc. but sounds like no one.

Has the family bailed? Absolutely no idea. She did say (Lauren) that the girls' families were there and many and when those seats weren't filled (the ones for RA's side all empty) they were able to take them for enough seats.

Haven't caught up here either, not watched anything else and don't know but am very curious although it would all likely be speculation anyhow as to real knowledge why they did not show up.

Thanks for answering. Unfortunately that article is not accessable to me.
I read this last night. It was very good. I don't compliment "news" often but it was, however, it mostly the content from the people who spoke that was good so there's that...

I started a post about it but was beyond me to finish and post it.

Also watched a video or two, I truly didn't have much time yesterday but later last night got some things in.

Lauren from HTC has most of the family's actual statements that if I have it right, I think they provided her. Not all, but the majority of people's and she read them verbatim on a show. Every single word. Meant to link it but much has been just beyond me right now.

I pretty much have the answers to the things I wanted to know between all such. I can cut and paste this for you if you like, I got in, and assume I would again. By now though you may know most of what is said in it from other sources plus I'm not caught up here and maybe someone already did.

Still have to catch up but think I've heard most now.

The man is a monster, I hope some of the remarks maybe changed a few minds of those that maybe thought otherwise.

And the D attys were flatly called out finally even by name in one case and they SHOULD be. It's about time.

You obviously didn't watch it. It has some interesting points to cast doubt on RA'S guilt.
Can you summarize what the good/interesting points are? I am not going to read anything to do with Odin for a start. RA was there and admitted it.
If you want me to read something - could you please copy pasta the relevant bit? So many articles are not available to me anyway.

I went into this but it would not show any details of what you claimed. I tried several times and am just wasting my time on click bait.

I'm not looking at it. It has O sh*t from the lead in in the article. If there were Os with RA then he needs to admit it, I don't think there were. However, it doesn't take him out of the picture. He is solidly in it and he did that to himself.

Every single impact statement and I've heard them all I believe, I can only say it is ABOUT TIME the other side gets to talk, and the families.

The D even knew better than to do much or say anything on this day, at this time. This time is A & L's time for ONCE. Of course they're silent as well as RA for other reasons, they'd never do anything so noble...

I'm glad investigators, family, and more called them out. It's been long awaited by them all. Not a one made it sound like they weren't behind the leak of course.

Of course this is just my opinion.

I haven't went in. I'd much rather copy what pasta you make lol.

The D shot their wad and did their part in running the show. And trying to ruin lives. It's over.

Most of the family members apparently gave their statements to her, I watched this.
