LIBBY GERMAN & ABBY WILLIAMS: Indiana vs. Richard Allen for 2017 murder of two Delphi girls *TRIAL IN PROGRESS*

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, which is part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, United States, after the young girls had disappeared from the same trail the previous day. The murders have received significant media coverage because a photo and audio recording of an individual believed to be the girls' murderer was found on German's smartphone. Despite the audio and video recordings of the suspect that have been circulated and the more than 26,000 tips that police have received, no arrest in the case has been made.[1][2][3]

Police have not publicly stated nor released details of how the girls were murdered.[6] As early as February 15, 2017, Indiana State Police began circulating a still image of an individual reportedly seen on the Monon High Bridge Trail near where the two friends were slain; the grainy photograph appearing to capture a Caucasian male, with hands in pockets, walking on the rail bridge, head down, toward the girls.[4] A few days later, the person in the photograph was named the prime suspect in the double-homicide.[5]

On February 22, law enforcement released an audio recording where the voice of the assailant,[7] though in some degree muffled, is heard to say, "Down the hill." It was at this news conference that officials credited the source of the audio and imagery to German's smartphone, and, further, regarded her as a hero for having had the uncanny foresight and fortitude to record the exchange in secret. Police indicated that additional evidence from the phone had been secured, but that they did not release it so as not to "compromise any future trial." By this time, the reward offered in the case was set at $41,000.[5]

Taken from the ballistics link I posted -

Tool marks are permanent changes in the topography of a surface created by forced contact with a harder surface (the tool). When bullets are fired and cartridge cases ejected from a firearm, the parts of the firearm that make forcible contact with them create characteristic tool marks on their surfaces called ‘ballistic signatures’ [2]. Striation signatures (2D profile tool marks) on a bullet are caused by its passage through the gun barrel (see figure 1 [3]). Impression signatures (3D topography tool marks) on a cartridge case are caused by impact with the firing pin, breech face and ejector (see figure 2 [3]). Both the 2D striation and 3D impression signatures are unique to the firearmBy microscopically comparing these ballistic signatures, firearm examiners can determine whether a pair of bullets or cartridge cases was fired or ejected from the same firearm. Ballistics examiners can then connect a recovered firearm or other firearm evidence to criminal acts.Electronics Forensic Technology, Inc. [3]).

Figure 2
Firearm signatures on a fired cartridge case include the firing pin impression (A), the ejector mark (B), and the breech face impression (C) (Courtesy of Ultra Electronics Forensic Technology, Inc. [3]).

So this is clearly saying that an ejector mark is unique to a firearm and is a firearm signature. Whether the bullet is racked and ejected unfired or is actually fired and the empty shell ejected, the ejector mark is unique.

Therefore they will be able to match that ejected round found at the crime scene to RA's specific firearm, based on what is stated here.

I don't wish to bet, but this is my understanding of this narrative. Obviously you don't have to have the same interpretation as me.

ETA this photo of the marks with B as the ejector mark.

Bumping my post about unique ejector marks.

Your comment was re "electronic" evidence and I'd like to add that there's also video from the Hoosier store.
That's true. Anything else 'electronic' ? Eg. The 3 young witnesses had photos on their phone that they took, I believe, so time stamps on those photos. Also, KK's interactions via A.shots social media and the girls social media plus Libby's famous bridge photos including Abby. Libby's Dad's attempts to contact her by phone. Obviously RA's phone and internet search history too. KK's various phone histories too. Seems like there will be a lot.

Has there ever been a connection established between KK/AS and the murders? Or just the communication?

There is a connection between KK/AS and the victims but so far as we know, not to the murders. Eg. He set up the meeting but did he pass it on to a paedo? We don't know at this stage.

Electronic doesn't mean videos or pictures. It means Emails, Facebook contact, searches on computers or phones etc... The have no verifiable evidence of any of that.

Tonight at 8pm on CW is a show called "Crime Nation" it's about The Delphi case.

Those are KK's interactions, not RA's. You're assuming the BG is RA.

Electronic does include photos and videos. I'm off to do my usual fight with a pdf.

I think page 8 gets into some of it.

RL’s ex girlfriend is positive it was him.

The five confessions were over two calls. One to his mother and one to his wife.

Ron Logan's cell phone pinged twice in the area of the bodies before the bodies were found.

One person interviewed said RA doesn't fit as the murderer.

I think there's certainly more of the same kind of evidence, I mean, I know of three other people who were there before Libby's father arrived shortly after three.

Gull wants RA to get a new trial. This one is so ripe with appeal issues it's mind boggling. Number one being she didn't recuse herself.

02/22/2024Order Issued
The Court has reviewed the Accused's Response to State's Motion to Compel Discovery, filed February 19, 2024, and the State's Objection to Defendant's Response on Discovery filed February 21, 2024. It is reasonable for defense counsel to provide the discovery requested, and the Court, therefore, orders defense counsel to provide discovery to the State of Indiana on or before March 8, 2024. As the State has advanced no legal authority to support its request to the Court to force defense counsel to provide deposition exhibits in advance, the Court will not compel defense counsel to provide such exhibits.
