This case is hard for me to keep up with. So is he free for now? Should I change the title of this thread to dismissed?
Honestly I missed it too and haven't had a chance to look at all details. I mean I heard it and people were referring to the case dropped or dismissed but I wasn't sure if they were thinking it should be or what. It seems it is for the moment but hopefully we will see a refiling. DA claiming they think they may know where she is but that also is who knows just talk maybe... Want to find her body and trial was coming too fast or some such. Suzanne is still missing. I'd say Barry is still the suspect/POI but for now the charge is dismissed. There is still the voter fraud and something else charged but not sure if those will be pursued either but for now I think those charges stand... He already was free but with minor bond conditions. No bond now I imagine.

Possible human bones have been recovered near a campground in Crestone.

Law enforcement responded to Saguache County Road 71 just outside the gate to North Crestone Campground Monday evening after a caller reported bones left along the road. A member of the sheriff’s office located the remains after getting on scene -- and said they looked like they had been burned.

“The bones did appear to be human in appearance and appeared to have been burned or cremated, as there was what appeared to be ashes mixed in with the bones,” the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The Saguache County coroner and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are now working with a forensic anthropologist to identify the remains. At the time of this writing, they have not been definitively confirmed as human, though the coroner suspects they are.

The bones are currently not believed to be missing women Suzanne Morphew or Kristal Reisinger, the sheriff’s office said.

Are you kidding me? Wow. I'm going to just say nothing for the moment as I'm not sure where my thoughts will settle on this. I totally get wanting to scatter ashes in a favorite fishing hole, over a favorite vacation area, etc.... Often per the request of the deceased... But it sounds like this wasn't a wind spread water burial, etc. and someone came across crematory remains...? And now they've been disturbed...

That's all I've got... Apparently the inability to get to a trail head resulted in this. And CBI took remains along a roadside to determine who the decedent was...

Okay I have one more thing and I mean it tongue in cheek.... It happened in Colorado... The state is becoming quite the name in missing people, bodies and crime...

Barry Morphew, daughters speak for first time after charges dropped to ABCs Good Morning America

The family of Suzanne Morphew sat down with ABC’s Good Morning America for an interview for the first time since the murder charges against Barry Morphew were dropped.

“We’ve been silent for a long time and we’ve decided that we finally want to break the silence,” said daughter Mallory Morphew. “…It’s been an emotional roller coaster, but we feel like we can finally take our first steps in healing, which is a blessing. And we just know our dad better than anyone else and we know he was not involved in our mom’s disappearance.”

Mallory and Macy Morphew walked out of court arm-in-arm with their father just moments after the charges against him in the disappearance of their mother two years ago were dropped last month.

“We want to heal,” Mallory Morphew said. “We feel like we haven’t been able to heal these past two years.”

“I just love my girls and I love my wife, and I just want her to be found,” Barry Morphew said.

Morphew’s daughters say he isn’t a killer and are celebrating the dismissal of the case. They are also demanding District Attorney Linda Stanley do more to find their mother.

“I just hope that Linda will step up to the plate and do everything she can to find our mom because what they’ve done is not fair and we’re never going to stop looking for our mom,” Macy Morphew said.

I'd have to be in the right mood to watch the above. Think I'll skip it for now. I have enough to say just on the comments shown. GMA not surprised. Not sure what is different now, the girls couldn't talk for their mom or even write anything for her when Barry was out of jail before arrest and when she was missing so what is the difference now? He is out of jail, she is missing, same as before?? Hmm so why now willing to go all major public? They were avoiding it and protected and now it is okay? Of course it is, it is for one reason and one reason only. He was not acquitted or exonerated in no way, no matter what they want to play like. And demand the Chaffee D.A. find their mother? All would love to find Suzanne, get real. Smh they don't even live in the D.A.'s county and they can get off their behinds and go search for their mother and should as well but they couldn't even drive to Chaffee to visit daddy much less search. Just like Barry, they don't even see what they come across like. Sorry but it's what I see and many others, I gave the benefit of the doubt for a long time but I'm past it...

This is long but well worth watching. Not full of PR and fluff and smokescreens and fake people.

I'm not the biggest Nancy fan but this is all pretty well known. More at the link.

"I met Suzanne in downtown Salida," Pamela Good told Grace. "There were some events happening. We were talking about what we do and about our kids. Right then, Barry rushed up to my left side…and right then, I saw her eyes change from our communication to fear. I was about to give her my card…because I felt like she needed me. I wanted her to be able to reach out to me."

Good's suspicions about Barry were confirmed when she met Suzanne at a local support group for victims of domestic violence, she said. Other guests describe a fractured relationship between the couple, with Suzanne allegedly referring to her husband as "Jekyll and Hyde" and telling her friends that she didn't feel safe being with him alone.

One guest told Grace that it appears much of the contention involved the family's finances. At one point, Barry Morphew reportedly threatened to not pay for treatments for his wife, a two-time cancer survivor.
[sounds like someone i know terminating insurance intentionally to cause problems at the worst times, seriously, same type imo, Barry reminds me of him constantly]

District attorney who prosecuted Barry Morphew has law license suspended

The Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel has suspended the law license of the district attorney who oversaw Barry Morphew's murder case for failing to complete required legal training.

Under Colorado Supreme Court guidelines, 11th Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanley's license can be reinstated once she files a plan to make up the 45 hours of continuing legal education she and all state attorneys are required to complete every three years.

Jessica Yates, who oversees the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, said Stanley failed to complete her required hours of continuing legal education for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 despite several notices reminding her to do so. Yates said the failure to complete the required training is unusual.

"I've worked here for four years and have never seen this happen with an elected DA," she said.

The suspension means that Stanley cannot appear in court or file pleadings during her suspension, but other lawyers in her office who are compliant can take on her duties. The 11th Judicial District includes Chaffee, Fremont, Custer and Park counties.

Prosecutors continue to investigate the disappearance of Suzanne Morphew, though the case was dismissed without prejudice in April. She has not been heard from since a proof of life photo she sent her lover May 9, 2020. In their motion to dismiss, prosecutors said they plan to look for her body in mountainous terrain near the couple's former Maysville home once the snow melts.

Barry Morphew is a free man unless the investigation finds new evidence to arrest him a second time.

I especially hate it when the rule enforcers don't think the rules apply to them. MULTIPLE notices to complete. She's been in it long enough to know the rules.

She is licensed and case will be refiled. This had nothing to do with the Morphew case. This certainly is the Denver Post supporting their famous defense attorneys though.
The suspension was indeed threatened but there was a computer error in another office.

ahhh, now I see the date of that article was June 1.

Yeah but still, she has to up her game. I was for her one hundred percent but now I don’t know. We will see when and if BM is convicted. I believe he will be.
she still let it slide as I am sure that the system hasn't been broken for 3 years. She should have inquired at the first notice if she had actually fulfilled the requirements, but she waited for them to send multiple notices and finally to suspend her before she did anything about it.

What I read and heard was that she never let it slide. (She’s not speaking out because she’s engrossed with the obvious case)
But supposedly she sent everything in on time to the office where it needed to go but they didn’t load the information into the database. When word came out license was revoked they had to correct the error.

Since we haven’t heard a peep from her since he was charged, we obviously don’t know what is going on. I know Sheriffs election is coming in January snd Speeze is running again.

Don’t know when she runs again.

it sounds like she definitely let the notices slide. That's my point. For something so important you would think that once they started threatening suspension, her office would have had it corrected BEFORE suspension actually happened. At the very minimum, her staff failed badly, but this is her license so her responsibility.

Exactly. I also have to maintain documentation and continuing education for a license that I hold. If I had turned my stuff in, and I was still receiving several notices that I needed to do so or risk my license being suspended, I most certainly would have gotten it figured out prior to it getting to the point of suspension.

Not that this really matters in the grand scheme of things or this case. I just shared because she was/is obviously connected to this case. If she's gotten it figured out since then, then that's wonderful. It was not posted to smear her or anything like that. Just as "this is what's going on" kind of thing.

it does lead one to wonder what else is not being attended to properly though.
