Was anything reported missing? We know Barry would have an insurance claim on any of that.
I don't know the answer to that. I don't necessarily think they would release that info anyway. If she had cash or credit cards on her at the time or in the car. You mentioned a discarded water bottle - where did you hear about that? I thought she used a camelback, which was found in the car, wasn't it?

That's a water bottle.

So they got a partial familial match on the glovebox DNA which led to the Az perp eventually but they couldn't get an actual sample from him. Is that it?
That's my understanding.

Just because he lawyered up, if they were any kind of confident it belonged to him, they would get a court order for it. This tells me that they probably weren't so confident and need more proof before getting a court order.

Can the CBI have that authority in another state? This would mean a federal crime if he was in another state. Wouldn't they have to extradite etc like they did with the Daybells?

Held a gun to her and only get into her glove box for what?

I don't know. That's the problem. I can't explain the DNA, you and the police can't deny it exists. I need to know how it got there and from whom.

LE are the ones to answer all this. We can only speculate. Maybe he had gloves on but sneezed on the glove box, left hair, spit whatever.

That makes sense.

If it doesn't match the DNA on the bike and helmet, then it seems pretty irrelevant since the defense seems to be going with something happening to her on her bike. But yes, it would certainly help finding out who it belongs to. If they are confident it's him, we will be seeing a search warrant at any time now. Then they can get his alibi.

Both sides have to go with the evidence - I think the partial match on the glovebox to a sexual offender is better than no match on the DNA on the bike and helmet.

im on the side of Barry doing it, but I hope they don't refile charges on him until this is resolved, because, yes, they should go with the evidence, no matter where it leads. They also need to know who this person is and verify that it is thet same offender and get him off the street, even if he is not connected to this case at all. This is why a lot of cases get lost. It takes only one person to think that it might just have possibly been somebody else. They need to be able to quash any doubt. Hopefully finding her will answer a lot more questions for them. Hopefully they have a lot more connections than they have let us aware of.

I'm afraid that they've got Barry tried and convicted in their minds. If the DNA is the same everywhere then it'll cause a HUGE problem for them. If that dude from Arizona's DNA is on her body then there might be some movement, but it's always very difficult for Prosecutors to admit they were wrong.

But they were at least smart enough to drop the charges when they did, the way they did. They can always refile them.

I just don't want to see another David Camm fiasco.

Wow was this one apparently active today. I really am unhappy that no way will life allow me to catch up n what is top case for me that has been largely inactive until recently. Going to have to wait to look at all the posts. I do hope we are off any mountain lion thought with Suzanne. Lion did not take her to Moffat and "Barry" her. She did not take herself there and "Barry" herself.

With Edna, who knows but I doubt it there too. Don't know what the pages of posts are about and have no time, HOPE to catch up, but hoping we can agree that a mountain lion as re Suzanne is a moot point?

Most of the discussion was about the partial DNA match to an out of state offender. You probably don't need to catch up on it.
