KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) -
10:40 A.M. UPDATE:
Platte County Sheriff’s office confirmed the suspect, George C. Manning, III, killed a woman and stole her car at a car wash in Riverside just after 11:00 p.m. Thursday night. From there, he fled to a house in the 4400 block of NW 50th Street, where he went inside, killed a boy, and shot a second woman. The boy did die. The woman is hospitalized. It is at that house Manning took a 5-year-old girl that led to the Amber Alert. Early Friday morning, the girl was left with a relative physically unharmed. A short time later, the suspect was listed as dead in Riverside after a police-involved shooting.
8:50 a.m. UPDATE:
Missouri Highway Patrol reports an officer-involved shooting in Riverside, Mo., as a manhunt comes to an end for a man accused of shooting 3, killing 2, and abducting a 5-year-old girl who has since been safely reunited with her family.
6 a.m. UPDATE: CHILD LOCATED SAFE. SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE.
The Amber Alert issued for five-year-old Giuliana Manning has been canceled. At approximately 5:10 am, Giuliana was located and is safe, unharmed, and has been reunited with family members.
George C. Manning, the person of interest in the double homicide and child abduction remains at large. It is believed that George Manning is currently occupying a stolen vehicle in the metro area and should be considered armed and dangerous. As the suspect is no longer believed to be on foot or in the 4400 block of NW 50
