It may or may not have helped find him though being he was using false ID and all.

Luigi Mangione traveled from Georgia to allegedly stalk and kill UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and said he targeted the health care industry because "it checked every box" -- one of a number of entries in a notebook in which the suspect discussed the plot in the weeks before the brazen crime, according to a federal criminal complaint.Mangione was hit with four federal charges Thursday, including stalking, a firearms offense involving a silencer and murder through use of a firearm, a charge that makes him eligible for the death penalty.
The federal complaint contains previously unreleased excerpts from the notebook that police said they seized from Mangione. Authorities said the writings "express hostility towards the health insurance industry and wealthy executives in particular."
According to the complaint, an entry marked Aug. 15, 2024, said "the details are finally coming together," and, "I'm glad -- in a way -- that I've procrastinated, bc [because] it allowed me to learn more about [acronym for Company-1]."
In an entry marked Oct. 22, 2024, the writings said, "1.5 months. This investor conference is a true windfall ... and -- most importantly -- the message becomes self evident."
Later on in the entry, the pages describe an intent to "wack" the CEO of one of the insurance companies at its investor conference, the complaint said.
Mangione waived extradition on Thursday morning and was transported via plane and helicopter from Pennsylvania to New York.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch were waiting when Mangione arrived in Manhattan.
Mangione made his initial appearance in federal court in lower Manhattan on Thursday afternoon and answered "yes" to several questions by the judge. He did not enter a plea.
Mangione's New York lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, said her client was prepared to appear in state court and complained the federal charges were sprung on them.
"This is a highly unusual situation we find ourselves in," Agnifilo said. "I have never seen anything like that."
She said the theories of the two cases appear to be in conflict, noting the state case accused Mangione of terrorizing a group of people while the federal case accused him of stalking an individual.
The judge told the parties to confer.
Mangione's next court date is Jan. 18.

I am never going to utter his name, his type wants that imo.
It seems pretty clear to me at least that he was going to continue doing this and not just to healthcare most likely.
I mean in mall shootings and school shootings the killer often, not always ends up dead and I almost think in some cases they go in expecting that. Some think they have an escape plan...
But that's not him, he shot one person, in the back on top of it. It maybe something we are taught but that truly is a coward, and he planned it. And then he fled. Imo he would have and did intend to continue. More out now but I suspect there's a ton more we don't know.
Yet some think him a hero, that's more worrisome even not than what he did but it's up there big time that anyone can think that and what the world is coming to.
Interesting his atty about the state v federal charges. They are different courts.
Why would federal charges even surprise her? And it's not like she has to try the case tomorrow.
I am guessing he's with a private atty at this time due to the GFM and/or parents...? Anyone know?

You know, even IF he had a personal private grudge against UHC, or any health care, who the F hasn't? But who goes and murders someone as if they are the total cause of all of it. This sh*t isn't old enough to even have a CLUE. Hasn't been through a lifelong bunch of issues to have them build up. And as Mel would say and where IS SHE, HAS ANYONE CONNECTED??? who knows chronic pain and has had a ton of issues, she would still never murder over anything.

HE IS NAH. I'm all in favor of the talk and upset over health care continuing and doing something about it when people band together but he deserves NO CREDIT for such. If this was some other case where it was said it was vigilante justice some of the very ones on board would be against such.
I guess he was willing to give up his lifetime of freedom if it even occurred to to the dumbarse. It's interesting how one can be a valedictorian but really not have any common sense, ever adult (doubt he has much), etc. Not uncommon though.

Not all that long, and imo a very good show and discussion. Leans towards wanting to be noticed and narcissism rather than "helping the people" but all of such was discussed. Wanting to have a spotlight back.

I agree his attorney should not be surprised with Federal charges. He travelled by interstate transport to commit and escape the murder. He planned it like that. I'm no attorney and am not from the US, so if i can follow it, she definitely should be able to. Maybe he needs a new lawyer?

I have not really followed the Diddy thing. Those kinds of cases I may or may not go into, I sometimes know the basics but don't always stick on them. Hate most "hollywood" kind of stuff. Is that Manhattan...? I actually think once I thought about it CB is in Suffolk County isn't he, but when jailed most go to county, city is temporary generally, just holding cell, etc. type of thing.
I don't honestly even known a lot about who he is. And don't really care to, but know he is in trouble for a LOT of bad sh*t. I mean I follow somewhat but not actively looking for ever but just hear about.

You're in good stead because emu was not immediate and no matter if he tries we all all have eaten already and any leftovers you have protected. I need some lightness and probably most do fairly often.
Not sure about the hostel resident thing, to this case now, have to be a resident and meet other criteria in most states a lot longer than that, and other criteria.
But then if an immigrant they seem to be able to bypass the rules over the rest of us. Not saying he was, he clearly went to school here, etc.
I've lived between two states for some years and the rules on that vary. Generally to my knowledge, it isn't that quick for most of us.
I have made sure a number of times I am keeping things legal.
Lol that's another headache to explain in the mess here.
This one should get the DP but will say I think there is more to come.
He is a "kid" but he made a knowing decision, plotted and planned.
