This is what the article said.

"John Ray had been tipped off ahead of time that dad of two Heuermann, 59, was going to be arrested last Thursday, he told the US Sun.

The same well-placed source also named a second suspect, according to Ray — who refused to share the name while teasing his long-held belief that a woman may have been involved.
“We also believe that some of the victims could’ve been lured by a woman,” he told the outlet, without elaborating on why or if the “we” included investigators."

So it had to be LE that tipped him off. Noone else would have known about the upcoming arrest. The same source actually named a second suspect as well.
So we will have to wait and see what develops.

1. Ray represents two victims, and their families.\
2. Ray has been doing so for some time.
3. The two victims were sex workers but Ray represents them.
4. The sex worker community doesn't trust the cops and certainly not the former administration, chief, etc. but none.
5. Ray has been doing his own investigation for some time for the families, etc.
6. Sex workers want to help and wonder if they can trust Ray AND Ray himself has contacted over time workers and friends Shannon and Taylor knew and the families helped name friends and/or Ray found which might know.
7. Sex worker friends shared things with Ray who KEPT it confidential or just sex workers that wanted the guy caught and thought or felt they knew a weirdo it may be that fit LISK etc and lived there and so on.
8. Ray shared info with LE but protected the working girls only sharing what they said. There is this guy and a woman with him, etc., etc. or they took us to their house or a house, etc., etc.
9. Losing all the things i want to say and tired train of thought right now but yes Ray gets notified that HEUERMANN is about to be arrested...
10. The entire vehicle thing and otherwise probably got went back to from something that once they knew or knew some things they went back and started looking for matches to anything about this guy and this woman companion etc.

This is just a start and ALL of it is based on various things Ray has said or hinted at AND on the fact someone informed him which, it could be so simple as they will do for victim's families and he represents victims (not that their crimes were charged) but wondered about with the LISK thing always too but I think it is more than that.

NOW LE etc. are talking to sex workers in jails, etc. but I suspect or think Ra and the families may have already been goign down this road and lit on info...

This isn't far fetched. It actually fits the whole thing. Perfectly. I'm tired and some can refine my thoughts but I have heard about all Ray has said over time... And it FITS.

I think a lot of things came together here and got connected...And it makes total sense that i f other sex workers wanted to share anything, or could, they'd share iit with the man defending two sex workers and their families. He also has said that or alluded to this very thing. They'd also go to those families as another alternative...

GILGO BEACH, N.Y. -- New details about the Gilgo Beach murders were revealed Wednesday afternoon.

John Ray, attorney for the victims, held a press conference at 3:15 p.m. in Miller Place.

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison also attended.

Harrison says they're interviewing four new people who could connect more cases to suspect Rex Heuermann.

Heuermann has been charged with murder in three of the Gilgo Beach murder cases and is a prime suspect in a fourth.

"When it comes to Miss Vergata and when it comes to Miss Gilbert are the ones that we are going to take a closer look at and see if they are connected to our defendant," Harrison said.

Standing with Ray, Harrison confirmed his office is interviewing four new potential witnesses who first came forward to John Ray, who has represented the family of sex worker Shannan Gilbert, who was discovered dead in 2010 near Gilgo.

A livery cab driver signed an affidavit that she picked up Gilbert from a Sayville motel as Heuermann allegedly fled the scene.

"Suddenly, a giant man who fits the description of Rex Heuermann comes out, and he's covering his face with his arms so he can't be seen, and he runs to a van or an SUV right nearby that's parked right there. She continues to flash her lights and beep her horn, and out comes a girl, crying, shaking, very upset, and gets in her car," Ray said.

Another witness in another sworn testimony said she and her boyfriend were swingers and went to Heuermann's home with sex worker Karen Vergata, with Heuermann's wife taking part at times.

"She said that she would service Rex Heuermann over 20 times and that he was a serial user of a sex workers. He would sometimes have them come two at a time to his house and his wife was home, upstairs," Ray said.

She claims they left as a naked Vergata, allegedly playing swinger games with Heuermann stayed behind.

The four who have come forward in the serial killing case had no agenda, they said.

"We have a job here as law enforcement, as Suffolk County Police Department, to make sure we investigate every single complaint or interest in this case, make sure we look under every single stone to see if there is any connection Rex Heuermann or if there is a connection to somebody else that may be involved with the bodies that were discovered on Ocean Parkway," Harrison said.

Just catching up and maybe it has been answered since I haven't read ahead but why would it be the former disgraced police chief? If someone in that department from higher ups to middle and what I would hope were the FEW in the know like the task fore are sharing info with him, then the department still has serious issues and a problem. This was a kept quiet serious thing so do you mean he has buddies in there yet or there was a leak to Burke??

I'd also add why would Burke share anything with the Gilbert family attorney if he did know?? He is the one who did the family SO WRONG. They'd be against each other, not buddies....?

Maybe I will understand what you mean as I read the rest of the posts here but it blew me away as to where you'd get that from??

HOLY SH*T. When I settle down not a BIT of this will surprise me BUT RIGHT NOW HOLY SH*T AND LE was with Ray. in sharing this info. AND GILBERT, long and still was being dismissed but who Ray said there were possible ties with.

AND his wife.

ALL OF THIS fits every instinct I've had on it since his arrest and events and it sure fits my instinct on his wife as well.

I haven't even had time to take this in yet or form thoughts but I'd say they maybe shared her hair found to see what she'd do, where she would go, what she might try to get rid of or what she would try to get BACK, just watching her moves. And her moves imo were planned in the event. And QUICK. So was the poor me thing.

I don't know about cutting a deal but it is a thought, more like put them both in the hot seat, let her worry (this still doesn't tie her to murder...) and see what shakes out...?

Ray said formerly just about every BIT OF THIS but not with details like about Vergata and key details etc. but he said every bit. But what we know NOW which defense tried to call him looking for limelight is there were TRULY people as he said, sex workers, sharing this info with him and now (and probably before now) LE knew it to be true as well (that other workers claimed this). Think of this too including the part about Gilbert, none of this gains them or would gain them a THING telling Ray what they knew. NADA. In fact even then they likely worried. I already find it so believable as they'd rather more likely protect themselves than come forward, even to Ray BUT they want the perp caught and the girls to get justice.

I am still just floored and I just had postd about Ray and what he had said but it was total instinct and guesses and figured we would never know if I was off base or not. And come home to this and spent all my time catching up on Delphi first.

OMG. Asa too. That woman and every move she made even the poor me so many felt for her with just never ever sat right with me. I even thougtht I was being unfair and everyone here would just think I was too harsh and judgmental.

AND these women were in their home oh I am just realizing now AND VERGATA was!!!

Heuermann wasn't tipped off. He was completely gobsmacked by his arrest. I guess he thought he was safe as he had got away with it for decades.

Yes, a doctor. There was much, much about odd things and talk of parties and what is the word I want?? Darn it. Let's just say people who would have a lot to lose of note, power,influence and so on re the Gilbert thing, a LOT being said and going around back when... Re Long Island. Re things like snuff films, parties with men that go beyond with sex workers, LE mentioned, NY cops or officials, etc. Don't get me wrong, could have been rumor mill and a lot then speculated but it was not hard to find or to hear. And no one would invstigate! And then later we had Burke with his stuff taken from his car which was embarrassing stuff, and where is it??

I don't know, I really don't but if one is even talking a group/community of swingers, that alone changes things... It doesn'\t mean CB stiill didn't have his own thing as time went and go rogue on his own BUT it also doesn't mean there wasn't other stuff and a group and swinging and using prostitutes for it AND friends who did the same, swapped, and so on. My thoughts STILL are not organized or thought out. I came into this thread after a long week, tired, and had spent an hour or more catching up on Delphi and finally moved on. I read one or two posts from Emu or between you about Burke and then tiredly hit this bombshell you posted totally not expecting it and you put it here without an announcement or fanfare etc. I am just reading it like i is another post and half awake and it was like HOLY MACARONI. I mean most all of it was the basics of what John Ray has claimed, I had heard all of that before but here we now HAD more details, LE also at the PC giving it more credence, and the fact there ARE people behind these accounts just as John Ray said or hinted at. Asa's lawyer tried to make him out as seeking to be relevant in this case, etc.

Asa IMMEDIATELY on CB's arrest went into a self protective mode imo and they knew all this or knew what would be coming. Tried to hit with an offense and fast. Divorce, suing the department, poor Asa, you name it.

I'd like to hear Rader's daughter or Happy Face's now on how she is just an innocent and had nothing to do with this!! I am not judging them but did say and am saying they couldn't know that and shouldn't have just assumed it and trumpeted it. Their hairs or their mother's weren't found on victims for one. They are coming off of their experiences and just giving a benefit of the doubt to a STRANGER.

I am going to stop for the moment as I still haven't had a moment in real life much less to take this all in and form thoughts. Again none of it is new, Ray basically had said or hinted at all, but the details, the fact there really ARE people as he said who came forward and the fact LE was also in the PC finally confirms it all. Just WOW.

Yeah in the posts even before this news he is mixing up people or something. RAY was tipped off, the victim attorney, NOT the defendant Crybaby.

He got 46 months originally IIRC but maybe he got out early. If he has offended again he should be back inside.
