That's basically what I think but we will have to wait unless anything leaks via journalists or podcasters.
Yeah. I just think he has to have something solid and real but the hearings keep getting adjourned. This is supposedly the second time.

It's odd. By the way did you see enough of that video to hear him say that this hearing was also scheduled outside of court hours? He said I think it was for 8 a..m. but they don't do court until 9 at that courthouse. Keeping the radar down and people around at that hour not so many or what? Squeezing it in maybe plus he'd have to be transported and maybe wanted a murderer's tranpsort and entry to be handled before regular hours, however is that true with Webex and Zoom and all that he'd have to attend in person... And it ws k nown to be looking like adjourned already when that video was made so i was not surprised to hear it the day of that it was.

Odd.

Maybe they've been informed of evidene but there is a delay with LE/prosecutors getting it to them...I'm just speculating.

I am sure prosecutors and LE may want this to wait due to timing they perhaps want with other things or some such but no reason the defense would agree to that or have to or should have to...

Of course no reasons for adjourment AHEAD of time are given.

Yeah, sigh, I guess it is a wait and see.

And now we are heading into holiday time when most courts that already are delayed just come to a standstill.

Did we know this already? Rader must have written immediately he heard of CB's arrest.

This is an article from just after CB's arrest and it mentions that Rader wrote to Fox news. Whole article is interesting.

Dennis Rader, also known as the BTK serial killer, laid out a series of similarities between the two cold case investigations.
"I was arrested age 59. Married, two kids," Rader wrote in a letter to Fox News Digital. "Husband, dad longtime a serial killer, stalker, used electronic devices, lives in a neighborhood undetected."BTK and Heuermann were taken down similarly, Rader argued – "DNA and electronics his downfall much like me." The convicted killer claims he predicted the similarities years ago.

"I was correct," he wrote."I was correct," he wrote.

Police arrested Rader in 2005 after years of cat-and-mouse games in which he taunted investigators and the media with messages, ultimately leading police to his doorstep with a trail of digital evidence. He had given himself the nickname "BTK" in reference to his preferred method of murder – "bind, torture, kill."

Also like Rader, Heuermann's arrest shocked his family.
The lives of his wife and children were turned upside-down the night of his arrest, their lawyer, Bob Macedonio, told Fox News Digital.

"My first question when a long sought suspect in multiple murders is caught is, ‘does he have a family?’" said Kerri Rawson, Rader's daughter and an advocate for victims. "My family’s life was upended 18 years ago, February 2005, when we got the noon day knock and simple notification from the FBI, 'Your father is BTK.'"
Her father hid "in plain sight" for more than 30 years and committed 10 brutal murders, she said, including one around the corner from her childhood home.

Heuermann lived about a 25-minute drive from where the bodies were found in the brush north of Ocean Parkway – and there is evidence he could have gotten there just as quickly by boat as well.
Neighbors tell Fox News Digital that Heuermann was quiet and kept to himself. They mostly saw him during his morning commute, when he took the Long Island Rail Road to Manhattan, often in a three-piece suit and carrying a briefcase. Some said he creeped them out, and they avoided him.

Rader worked for years as a compliance officer, boasting to Fox News Digital that he had handed out more than 350 citations and other complaints before his arrest.

"From my own long experience and my own family’s, I ask [Heuermann's wife and children] be treated with dignity and respect, granted privacy and time to begin to wrap their heads and hearts around what is unfolding," Rawson told Fox News Digital.

Rader will spend the rest of his life behind bars. He admitted to 10 slayings after his arrest in 2005 – but police are now investigating him in connection with two cold cases.
One is the disappearance of Cynthia "Cyndi" Dawn Kinney, a 16-year-old who was last seen leaving her job at her aunt and uncle's laundromat on June 23, 1976, in Osage, Oklahoma. The other is the abduction and murder of Shawna Garber, 53, on Halloween in 1990.

Rader has denied involvement in both cases.

Do Rader and Happy write to each other too? I mean seriously this is ridiculous. Maybe they shouldn't have access to the news and info they do nor a pen and paper.

We now have a SK club and they all want to bond.

Both daughters and both dads need to step away.

Both of the men want attention and it's always been the case and here we are with them getting it, not as much as they wanted thank God but enough. Rader could be on the brink of death and he'd do this. He isn't, I am just saying he would still be the same monster and do the same things til his last breath.

I also think both daughters need to find a life beyond their dads and involving themselves in SK stuff. No expert but my God.

It's horrible their lives were upended but they were upended by their pscyho dads who played the wife and the entire family for years on end. Most likely. Who knows. In Asa's case, I don't believe she was clueless. Who knows in each family for that matter if they should have seen or not but regardless, I'm sure such a type could play them all quite easily, but again it's dad that did it not and their searches and entering their lives one day and so on.

In a way the men are laughable freaks. Such a need for attention even when incarcerated old men. Such a need for twisted sh*t that they did as they did. He can compare himself to CB and the age and that tech brought them down and whatt's that mean? Many thiings are not comparable at all and so what. One big one is Rader's taunting by writing the news and/or LE, etc. and taunting. Not a hint that CB ever did that, more likely he was worried about them figuring it out. Rader really brought himself down for his need for attention and need to be known to be smarter, yet not known, but... Etc And the tech isn't even close to the same.

CB has not done a single thing to look for attention from inside jail that we've heard of. Or before the arrest. He taunted victim's family members though, totally different.

But I'm sidetracking. I'm surprised Rader would even want to compare himself as he thinks (as many SKs do) he was the smartest of all but this entire LISK thing is huge news as is the arrest and he was just a Kansas boy. LISK has Long Island, Manhattan, big time LE agencies and major national attention while he languishes in prison a nobody and forgotten. Until of course he rears his head or his daughter helps bring attention back.

And no, I don't recall hearing this so it shows that MOST ignore him for good reason. These men WANT their letter shared, etc. and to be relevant. Let's not forget Rader gave himself his SK name. I refuse to use it. I also have to quit saying Happy and come up with another moniker for him as I can never recall his name. Fitting imo. That I hardly recall him.

They aren't geniuses. They are warped abnomalies. NO criminal is smarter than LE nor the public, they have the advantage of knowing what they area gong to do, that they are going to do it where they are going to do it and of WHO they are (who did it). Duh. But they think getting away with something none of the rest of us knew was going to be done makes them smarter. There is NO mystique, or specialness OR genius mind there. And Kerri isn't Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs and her dad isn't Hannibal.

To this day, I think of Dennis Rader as a homely, average dog catcher. He doesn't have any power or special power, none of them do other than they surprise and attack victims through unfair and cowardly means.

Movies and documentaries both fiction and true have made SKs out to be almost some notoriously smarter than the rest of society people.

They aren't. Oh and the study of one or another two or engaging them will have them knowing what a new one is thinking so they are then important as is happening here. NOT.

He's just another Dennis. Let me look it up. I did. The other is just another Keith. Ted was just another Ted. I'm thinking of calling Keith Bubbles. Lol. Don't ask me why. Both he and CB liked prostitutes for their victims. That wasn't Rader at all so his comparison lacks there.

Anyhow even responding here is too much attention for them imo and what they want, to e relevant and matter to where they now insert themselves into a more relevant case because THIS guy is getting attention and they are irrelevant and imprisoned. I'm sure any attention even insults are good for their needs but I don't think they like to be thought of as stupid. And they are. Or obvious. And they are.

There isn't anything special about them. And that bothers them I'm sure. They sought it and got it for a brief moment. And still seek it.

Yeah it's my first day off in days in the morning and so my first wandering probably nonsensical dumping my week off my shoulders post. I'm sure most can see the pattern by now. Trying to go from work mode into home and life work mode and catch up and transition. Not a free day of course, a lot of life fires as always to put out. Actually got seven hours of uninterrupted sleep but think I needed at least 12 as I went with about 3 to 4 for several days before.

Still waking up.

Anyhow, So Denny wrote a letter to the news about CB. Wow. I'm unimpressed Denny. Does LE want to talk to you and get your help now on all your knowledge of CB? I'd sure hope not. Smh. he should go eat some Wheaties and shut up. But if he wants to talk, I can tune him out.

BTK is a media whore. He likes seeing his name in the paper.
Always has. Nowadays he probably is trying to transition to seeing it on TV and on SM though rather than the newspapers or is he lol. He's old news and newspapers aren't much a thing any longer. And them catching him wasn't big time cell phone stuff, etc. it was a computer disk was it not? Dumbarse Dennis.

Someone needs to tell him it is archaic, he is and that he's old news.

Some good news. The law is going to be changed so that relatives of killers cannot profit from crimes.

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- Outrage over the money that's being paid to accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann's estranged wife Asa Ellerup is prompting a potential new law.

Two new bills aim to amend New York's Son of Sam law to prevent family members of defendants from profiting off crimes.

Christmas decor hangs from the Heuermann house, but there's no sign of the film crew that followed Ellerup to her estranged husband's latest court appearance.

Ellerup is reportedly getting paid seven figures by a Peacock TV docuseries, a deal that prompted outrage.

Shannan Gilbert's sister said she was disappointed, disgusted and flabbergasted.

Outrage spread to Albany.

"The amount of money that's being thrown here while victims' families get nothing is just horrible. They're just exploiting their pain for profit," said Sen. Kevin Thomas, of Garden City.

Thomas said his bill closes a loophole in the Son of Sam law.

The same bill is in the Assembly.

"Why should the family or the former spouse profit from this crime either? It's an insult, I think, to the victim," said Sen. Fred Thiele Jr., of Sag Harbor.

The decades-old Son of Sam law blocks criminals, like killer David Berkowitz, from profiting off their crimes. The law was ruled unconstitutional and amended. Victims are now notified of movie and book deals so they can sue for the profits.

The new bills would expand the law to include defendants' relatives, a move applauded by attorney John Ray, who represents victims' families.

"[Ellerup] is a ghoul and she's feeding on the dead by using their memory and the circumstances that her husband caused and she may have a part in," said Ray.

Ellerup's attorney Robert Macadonio responded, "It's a sad day in America when people are willing to trample on the constitution to get press coverage. The next thing they will attempt is to control media coverage."

"To the extent that the law is going to apply to a family member, who may not have done anything wrong, you've probably got a significant First Amendment problem there," said Fred Klein, a Hofstra law professor.

A Peacock spokesperson told CBS New York that Ellerup "was not paid for her participation, but was paid a licensing fee for use of her archive materials," which cannot go to Heuermann or his defense.

Peacock said it reached out to the victims' families to appear in the documentary, but all either declined or did not respond.

If passed, the bill would take effect immediately, which could impact the Ellerup case.

If passed, the bill would take effect immediately, which could impact the Ellerup case.
Peacock can creatively name the payment a licensing fee but doesn't matter what they call it and they and Macedonia can go to he77. It is what we see it as and it is profiting off victims of murder and their family's pain. If even true they reached out to victims families to appear and they refused, they have more integrity and class by far than asa the ghoul. John Ray titled her aptly. It fits her and what I see in her. Not even going to comment on the law professors comment which is full of mays and probablys to make it a nothing statement.

I will NOT be watching That doc. And I won't be watching Peacock.

I hope they pass this/close the loophole. I don't like either how the original son of Sam law has been changed. Not sure I knew that.

Did I say it was a good thing?
You were all for Peacock and that if she spills beans or lies, etc. and were going to watch and didn't see a problem with it as I recall. On this very thread.

And don't get me wrong. IF she did, Or provided some pictures or said something that LE then finds in the doc some serious nugget in, well then great. I saw sh*t in both Mel's being on TV sh*t in Daybell but not that worked the way it should have imo.. And much of it was to also indict THEM. Didn't happen and to my knowledge NONE of that came up at Lori's trial. LE interviews maybe but not the TV stuff. And I don't believe Asa will implicate CB or herself with whatever deal was made here with anything provided. I could be wrong of course.

I don't think though it matters more this WRONG payment than the CHANCE that could happen and very likely won't.

And yes, you did not see it as a bad thing, don't make me go back and find it because you know it, of Peacock doing this and the payt. etc. seemed to not matter either.

So have you changed your mind? Because I hope you have.

Oh, ok. That makes more sense. Aside from giving her a million bucks, it is a good idea for the reasons stated. The million bucks makes it hard to swallow, but if the prosecution gets some valuable information it will work out well. Especially if she accidentally implicates herself in the murders.

And I'm saying I don't think she will do that or even come close to doing that. I also don't think she will on giving him up or implicating him. Your state is trying to now change the law on this by a few politicians and they darned well should. She should NOT be profiting off her husband's alleged murders. Especially when it is unclear whether she had any part in them.

Your response here to me makes no sense. What makes more sense? I was citing you.

It is flat out wrong. Some hope it will provide some clue or Peacock calling it licensing or an archive fee is bullsh*t and one has to take a stance imo with such and not excuse it on some hope, prayer and magical wish that they will get something out of it for evidence. That's your excuse too no? They won't. But even if they did, THIS cannot be allowed to go on or set a precedent.

Mark my words. That woman is a cat. Not a sleek one that's for sure but she knows what she is doing. So does CB. Even aside from murder, the two play the system.

Jmho. Have fun watching it. I'm sure I'll hear about it from those that give the views like you and YTers that say they had to to report on it and keep us informed, etc.

Asa does not look like a peacock but at heart she is displaying the feathers and may even think she is as colorful and important as the male. She does have the upper hand now...

Why doesn't she just have coffee with Hap'\s daughter and Rader's daughter and check their progress and work on some other plan... Maybe not nice and a bit facetious BUT what is it we are seeing...

CB may plead guilty just to have butter for his rolls in prison. That's what Hap suggested. We haven't heard the HALF of it. Imo.

But forgive me, I'm sure Asa is missing CB in her bed and him her in his. Uh huh. Swinging. Prostitutes. Sure. They had though I bet a sacred marital bed and relationship. NOT. But they may well have a pact. THAT I can believe.

I didn't know about this. I knew about the possible fourth murder but didn't know about a GJ being convened.

Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all the murders he’s been charged with.

The district attorney has repeatedly said he believes the Gilgo case against Heuermann is “very strong.” It will also rely extensively on phone and cell tower records.

The grand jury was empaneled this year, in June 2023, and it’s this group that was expected to make the decision in the Brainard-Barnes murder.

Oh yes, that's what they've been waiting on and in fact about a month ago or so there were hints they thought there would be news on it soon... I think Harrison said as much and the DA hinted at it as well. It never happened though or hasn't yet anyhow...

Just came across this and have not watched or checked out so no idea if there is new news or this is click bait. Maybe someone else will have time to check if new news out there.

I like/d Grizzly but in the past couple of months she has done some click bait stuff here and there with misleading headlines. Not often but a few times.

It may well be new real news though. No idea.

I also don't know why she'd bother with click bait as she tries to cover every case under the sun these days and barely keeps up these days because of that. When I linked this I see the "headline" is different than what I saw which inferred there was an arrest or was about to be. I've seen her do that before too.

So just saying it could be a nothingburger.
