Alabama murder suspect vanishes with corrections officer *CAPTURED IN INDIANA*

A sheriff's office in Alabama issued an alert Friday night after an inmate and the assistant director of corrections went missing earlier in the day. Authorities said the inmate, who was being held on capital murder charges, should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous."

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told reporters Friday night that Vicki White, a 25-year veteran at the department, left the local detention center with Casey Cole White at 9:41 a.m. He said she told other officials she was going to drop him off at the courthouse for a mental health evaluation and then was going to seek medical attention because she wasn't feeling well. Despite having the same last name, the two are not related.

Shortly after 11 a.m., someone found her patrol vehicle in a parking lot of a shopping center. At 3:30 p.m., officials became aware that no one had been able to contact her, and that the inmate had not been returned to custody.

I wonder if she realizes the danger she put herself and others into or if she went too far into Lalaland already. I hope they will be caught without trouble soon.
Me too. Has she also realized she is robbing another family of their justice?? And as you say placed the public in danger now? She let the other family's loved one's killer go FREE!! This case was intriguing me at first and no real emotion over it but right now I'm starting to get angry with this woman. At first I looked at it honestly kind of humorously in some ways like "what a dumb woman, what does this man have about him that got her to do something so stupid?" But now I mean really this isn't some game or romance of bad guy becomes the prince, she LET a killer out of jail!

She had better hope he doesn't kill anyone else or harm someone because if he does, she is going to be up on even more serious charges.

I just can't imagine they won't be found pretty quickly, he is pretty tall, noticeable, etc. BUT they did have a lot of time most likely to plan. And at least a five or six hour head start...

I read this and I thought it was extremely interesting. I have a family member that used to be a corrections officer and later on it found out that they had a mental health issue themselves. I wonder why they don’t evaluate them more closely? She was working there for 20 years, wasn’t she?
I had a family member that worked in domestic violence shelter and was attracted to the very guys she was protected the women there from :sigh:

Yep, I would be a bit less angry at her if he wasn't publicly stating that he was going to finish what he started if he ever got out. It's not like he mellowed and changed while incarcerated.

Okay, I shouldn't personally insult and I apologize ahead for what I am about to say but this woman deserves no sympathy and is an IDIOT if she knew these things and still helped him!! I knew some of this but not all.

She is wanted on a felony warrant and deservedly so.

She was telling everyone she was going to retire on the beach and of course the first thought here and because of location is Mexico but I'm going to guess they did the opposite or at least did not head for Mexico... I also don't think they'd use something that a ticket could be tracked for, at least not in real names... If she has any brain cells the first destination wouldn't be the final one... I'm wondering if there was help... A friend of his? I mean if she rented or bought a car and registered it, they'd figure that out pretty quick I'd think... Of course I"m crediting her with some smarts but that's debatable considering her choice here...

absolutely no sympathy from me either. She knew his history and she knows what he has said about finishing what he started. IF that alone wasn't a big red flag, I don't know what is. I don't care what his sob story is about why he's there and who wronged him, stating that on record should be enough for anybody.

My guess is she is going to have a sob story as well... Eventually...

Their faces should be flashing everywhere... All of the wasted money our gov spends and the good things they could do with it... There should be billboards in every town in America with the faces of these two flashing... And the faces of missing children flashing and more... My mom did see this case once but ONLY saw his face, not hers. She had to look it up to ever see hers when I told her.

This woman at some point was shopping... They have to have clothes and she had to buy him clothes... She must have her work gear or some as wasn't he shackled etc. for transport... They pulled off somewhere to take care of all of that... In fact maybe she is/was still in uniform which would help if anyone stopped them or questioned something in the initial hours...

There might be new info in here.

Wow, still reading but read most already and wow. NO DOUBT she aided. A shotgun and AR-15. She released him from his shackles, etc. and he is FREED. Think she has her phone but it is off. Assume she has some cash. Going through finances. They had a "special" relationship is confirmed.

Driving a 2007 Edge they THINK. That's an old vehicle, I'm guessing as I did earlier someone helped OR she bought a used vehicle, stored/hid it and never transferred title, etc. or something maybe...

This woman deserves a long time behind bars. The Secret Service is involved now. I HOPE she is realizing just how big of a wrong decision she made.

I'm not about appearance at all but what did she see in this guy? Murderer, not like the best looking, etc....

A lot is interesting but this part of that article above really gives some food for thought...:

Authorities said Vicky White violated a policy that required more than one official to be involved in transporting inmates. The policy was put in place when Casey White was jailed two years ago and authorities believed he was planning to escape.

Was this also because of her at the time...? Something happened with maybe just one officer transporting (her?), it doesn't seem it could just be because they thought he had an escape plan as that doesn't exactly make sense...

so was she the one that was supposed to transport him at the time he was caught planning an escape? Have they been planning on this version for 2 years now?

i was curious to see if your and others' minds went where mine went with it... i'm even thinking maybe they came close but it was realized and stopped and she was warned or a story was given... Or maybeeeee he had an other employee charmed at the time... Or all of them... I think SOMETHING happened that wasn't about his planned escape but that something was tried or a trial run that they caught... And so then it went to "two" employees...? And why wouldn't it be that way anywhere anyhow?? I mean really...
