A sheriff's office in Alabama issued an alert Friday night after an inmate and the assistant director of corrections went missing earlier in the day. Authorities said the inmate, who was being held on capital murder charges, should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous."

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told reporters Friday night that Vicki White, a 25-year veteran at the department, left the local detention center with Casey Cole White at 9:41 a.m. He said she told other officials she was going to drop him off at the courthouse for a mental health evaluation and then was going to seek medical attention because she wasn't feeling well. Despite having the same last name, the two are not related.

Shortly after 11 a.m., someone found her patrol vehicle in a parking lot of a shopping center. At 3:30 p.m., officials became aware that no one had been able to contact her, and that the inmate had not been returned to custody.

Just a guess but this is the DREAM she has been waiting for, the days they could be together... I have to wonder how she is liking it...? Is it all she dreamed of for so long....? Champagne and caviar? She financed it all and helped with all and he will make it up to her with buried treasure...?

Wow, it is just a simple video but when you know already what they are doing it takes on more meaning...

Pretty casual way for a jail to handle a murderer, not even another officer in sight as he leaves the building... She just opens the door and he gets in... No checking, double checking, nothing...

As for him, she is a means to an end for him, and likely nothing more.

They need to catch these two pronto.

So she is 18 years older than him on top of everything else. I really cannot understand why she even bothered to fill out retirement papers. I get the ruse of the rest of it leading up to retirement, the selling the house, etc. and talking of retirement. I suppose even if in prison she still gets a retirement check??? Probably. Still makes no sense unless planning on getting caught.

What is it with this man, he has his mom sn*wed too it seems...

Casey was serving a 75-year sentence for attempted murder, burglary, robbery, kidnapping and animal cruelty. He was facing murder charges after confessing to the stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway, 58.

His mother claimed he copped to that crime to get a change of scenery at the rural county jail.

“The only reason he came out to Lauderdale County was to get out of the prison he was in,” she said.

“He wrote a letter to say that he murdered that woman. But he didn’t really murder her, he just done that to get back up here.

“He just wanted to be out of that prison because it was so bad and there was no food.”

He also has admitted he did the other crime to the girlfriend by saying if he got out he would finish the job. What's her excuse for him for that? Sheesh.

No kidding. Apparently we have a mother in serious denial and it would seem they are close if she just talked to him... He clearly lies to his mother if she truly believes these things and what she should be doing is telling him to turn himself in! I'm going to bet his escape here will be fully on the corrections officer in his mother's opinion--she "forced" him OR she knew him to be innocent just as mom knows... Unbelievable.

I have to wonder how many others in the jail/prison system may also have fallen for this somewhat--it is pretty difficult to believe no one knew that these two were more than chummy. It is one thing to say nothing because it is your boss but it just seems like more than that... Maybe not.

Interesting though that inmates knew he got extra food and special privileges due to her and that's who that info allegedly comes from... I mean was this assistant director and head of transport responsible for working in the cafeteria and delivering and picking up his food trays too...? Maybe the other employees didn't know about a planned escape but they KNEW about this behavior and special treatment and relationship, they almost had to don't you think?? And I'm sorry but what about the sheriff? One has to wonder. She isn't his boss... I don't think. The other way around I'd think. I'm not blaming him or others but just thinking there had to be signs and a lot of them I'd think. However she was cunning I guess as to this plan...

The reason he's in prison, probably, in part, is from his mother being willing to believe almost anything.

🤦‍♀️ Unreal. So the mom believes he would go to jail for the rest of his life for a murder he didn't commit? So he could have nicer accommodations? He's certainly a smooth operator, for sure!

Less than two minutes. It isn't much but towards the end it shows the squad car going past a gas station. No one having a clue at that point...

This one says among other things that she sold her house for like 1/2 of what she paid for it! She bought the car it sounds like at a used lot just days before... I imagine the car has been ditched already one would think and they probably hid it well...
