Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

The state hasn't executed anyone since 2009 or so.

Federal had been paused for a long time, too.
I am pretty sure I was hearing of it during the Boswell charges/case. Maybe it was referring to the last time and it was that long ago, didn't seem like it though. But maybe.

I might be thinking of TN... Because I tie it in with the Boswell case when I heard it for some reason... They were talking DP for Boswell and it seems it came up in that BUT it was a woman, I'd swear to it...

Indiana has the Federal Death Row. There was a woman executed in the Federal Terre Haute, Indiana facility.

I go both ways on News Nation. They have pushed it too far in some cases and inaccurately but they do cover or get things that some don't. I haven't liked the pushing the connection of Kohberger and Radar earlier in this case etc. when there is no info at all they ever met. He simply had a professor that had known BTK and it was a big leap imo.

So this one has me wondering. I fail to see how or why anyone could fire Kohberger's siters or lose them their jobs; however, I can see a truer headline and show that maybe media attention or calls or losing time over family trauma may have them missing work, dealing with problems, etc. may lead to them asking them to take a leave or them asking if they can, etc. So I feel the truth lies somewhere in the middle of what it is made to sound like...

So they bring on BTK's daughter which again I feel is out there on the overall case but what she has to say about what her family went through is interesting.

So all in all, short and worth a watch but the headline would make one think the siblings lost their jobs as if they were fired for being his sister, etc. and I seriously doubt that. Clikcbait to a point.

people related to people in high profile cases have often lost their jobs...for many reasons. A LOT of them have lost their jobs due to customers coming in places making life difficult for other employees and/or the employee. It's usually the customers that make the person lose their jobs. Think of the lunatics that come out in these cases and what they do.

Latah County prosecutors notified a judge this week that they are disclosing "potential Brady/Giglio material" related to an officer involved in the investigation of Bryan Kohberger, the 28-year-old criminology Ph.D. student accused of murdering four University of Idaho students last November.

Brady material refers to information that could potentially be exculpatory for a defendant, meaning it could prove his or her innocence. Giglio material pertains to information that could impeach the credibility of a witness – in this case, an officer who worked on Kohberger's case.

The relevant material is "in the form of a confidential internal affairs investigation" related to the officer. Judge Megan Marshall granted a protective order that was requested by the prosecutors to shield the materials from public view because they are personnel records.

Part of it with many I'm sure. Also playing in is the people are missing work is part of it and some of it due to not being able to leave home easily maybe due to reporters. Or just dealing with family crisis. Etc. What I watched on this with the sisters and what they said sounded like it maybe partly that as well, doesn't necessarily mean they were fired (in any case, not just this one).

What the heck...??? Not to prosecution's benefit the way I read it but disclosing something they need to so it doesn't come up later negatively...? And could help Brian is what exculpatory would mean right...?

Wow it would be speculation but the mind runs rampant on what that could be... If you wanted to nail a perp it could be getting rid of evidence of another person's presence. It could be getting rid of something of the victim/s' dead or alive that would be negative to them. Could it be the officer was involved or just helped Kohberger cover something?

Total guesses of course, who knows. I think most likely would be getting/obtaining evidence the wrong way or getting rid of something that wouldn't help the case but would hinder it... Or getting something without a warrant, etc., messing with something.

Predicting that this is going to lead to a LOT of speculation.
