A 20-year-old soldier stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, is missing, and Army investigators are reaching out to the public for help finding her.

Pfc Vanessa Guillen was last seen wearing a black T-shirt early Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment. Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet were found in the armory room where she was working, Fort Hood said.

Mayra Guillen, the soldier’s sister, posted on Facebook that her sister’s phone was last pinged near Belton, about 20 miles east of the Army post. “Something is not right,” she wrote, “please help me find her.”

‘Extensive search’ continues for missing soldier in Texas after keys, wallet found

Agents at a U.S. military post in Texas are searching for a soldier who has been missing for three days.

Private First Class Vanessa Guillen, 20, was last seen Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot at Fort Hood, where she’s stationed, wearing a black T-shirt.

“Her car keys, barracks room key, identification card and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier in the day,” officials said in a press release.

Friends and family of Guillen have flooded their social media accounts with pleas to the public to contact the authorities if anyone has any information.

Mayra Guillen wrote on a Facebook post that her sister’s phone was last tracked on Belton, Texas, about 20 minutes away from where she was last seen. Neither her boyfriend or relatives have heard from her since she disappeared, she said.

“Please help me find my girlfriend,” Guillen’s boyfriend, Juan Cruz, tweeted on Friday. “Please anything helps.”

“An extensive search is underway by military members, as well as civilian and military police,” authorities said. Special agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are also involved in the search.

THIS IS NEW SINCE THE PRESS CONFERENCE THIS ARTICLE, Vanessa's family ties the suicide to Vanessa. For one thing.

In your link:

Khawam said she's discovered at least two alleged incidents of sexual harassment -- a superior walking in on Guillen showering and another verbally assaulting her with vulgar remarks in Spanish. She says the person who died by suicide was the superior in the shower incident.

Yes, I am watching the press conference now. I think it is way past time some of the people who shoved this entire investigation in a drawer be named! Including the superior!

I would almost bet money there is a serial killer here. I remember things over the years but they just disappeared quickly from the news as was tried here. The male soldier was found not far from her, another case they ignored and still have down as AWOL! There has to be a connection. Maybe not the soldier to Vanessa but to the same man OR to Vanessa, perhaps he was someone she confided in who was going to help "blow" the whistle... This is STILL in cover up mode. How ideal only this morning the man kills himself... One that does not even have to face his SHAME. He can't be the only for cover-ups this big.

I watched a podcast yesterday I think, can't name it where the two women point out at least one like mass shooting incident at Fort Hood and something similar that also have just kind of disappeared from people's memories.

How connected are some of these people/higher ups at this base? I am surprised by now in an election year we don't have more than a few politicians backing this family...

Also allegedly the person she worked under/with that day I believe I read. In all of these months, they would not even give the family that name of who she worked with!. These archaic old school places and that includes bases and courts and other things imo, better get with the times. A family without a voice not too many years ago, nor any power, can spread word far and wide and fast these days. It took them awhile but that is what this family did was not give up.

Sorry, I need to settle down. I hope they/the family continue this for one and all. This should not end here. This base needs a full clean out and obviously others had to be involved in this corruption and the coverups.

This is in an ABC 13 article. So we have a recent suicide related to Fort Hood and "a case" there????

A press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. today in Washington.

The event comes on the day after human remains were found in central Texas during a search for Guillen. There's no confirmation that the remains belong to Guillen, but Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller told ABC13, "The search for Vanessa is now over."

As family members gather in Washington, investigators in Killeen are looking for answers after a person of interest in a Fort Hood case died by suicide Wednesday morning when authorities tried to make contact with them.

It wasn't yet clear if that person of interest was related to Guilen's case or another open investigation.

I told my mom how the same sergeant that sexually harassed me would follow me whenever I would run and exercise and how uncomfortable it made me feel. My mom told me she would put a stop to it, but I told her I would take care of it myself. I felt I could put a stop to it myself. All I had to do was do something, say something. I was ready to take care of it.

:(

Linda said when Vanessa was found, again no one called the Guillen family, they found out from the news. Only Tim Miller had decency enough to call them. They have a whole nation watching and they still dare to treat this family like this?!

This is getting even more disturbing by the minute😕. I almost hope they would take the phrase 'heads will roll' literally. No words for this.

I know :(. I am listening to Linda on It's a Crime and she is fired up and angry. And tearful. Suits my mood because that's how I feel. I am so irate at how this family is STILL being treated. Yes, changes by the minute... No way there were not more involved here in the cover-up imo.

Part of this (says to me plenty are involved, one of many things that does):

Kwaham said that, among other problems in efforts at the base to account for Guillen, Fort Hood officials falsely accounted for Vanessa at 3 p.m. the day she went missing.

In addition to calling for a Congressional investigation, Kwaham also said Secretary of Defense Mark Esper should speak with Guillen’s family and support investigations at Fort Hood.

“After that I think the DOD [Inspector General]’s office can come in, the FBI can come in,” Kwaham said. “We have a lot of other agencies. We don’t need that base to investigate itself.”

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who is also a major in the U.S. Army National Guard, joined the family during their Wednesday press conference.
