Who is the Long Island Serial Killer?

The Long Island serial killer (also referred to as LISK, the Gilgo Beach Killer or the Craigslist Ripper) is an unidentified suspected serial killer who is believed to have murdered 10 to 16 people over a period of nearly 20 years.

Bought home from his mom in 1994. Worked in Manhattan since 1987 per that interview back when with him. if I remember correctly he started his own firm about the time he bought mom's house. Made me wonder if he came into some kind of money around then to be able to do both things and did he work for someone else prior to starting his own firm.

The Gilgo murders I am finding varying info on. One says they were from 1996 to 2011. Another says they were from 2007 to 2010. I have no time this morning but throwing this out there for anyone with the time to determine this and why the variance in the years. Either way, what was he doing before this. The 1996 one would have him killing shortly after he moved there.

I guess I thought of the Mass. home as being bought after, maybe as a summer home or second residence. Never occurred to me it was probably first or their former home but that does make sense.

Yeah, he VERY likely did not start his serial killing here and at minimum has had other crimes like rape, etc.

As I've said the child porn REALLY bothers me too. Even though I have no desire for nasty details, I would like to now if that porn was just girls or both girls and boys. For a few reasons. It might make the toddler fit. and the Asian man even.... I also simply wonder if he was doing damage to children also although I don't want to at the same time even think about it.

Maybe he even bought his mom's home and moved because he felt he needed to if he was committing crimes where he lived formerly IF Mass or wherever.

This all makes me realize there is a lot missing as to his timeline in life. This is why I expected the digging to start and more news to be coming. I don't have any time, figured my wakeup time today and hour off, not in my favor but maybe someone who has some can take a look at at least why these disappearance years on Gilgo vary.

That's true but will say what I googled were Gilgo Beach murders, not all of the murders just to be clear on that part. The difiference yeah could have been even how far back they figured related and so forth or even how old each article I read was, not sure if I looked at that. So darned little time.

I don't know if he killed ALL of the Long Island ones either. I am more saying in his lifetime I am very doubtful there were only the four of three charged and in one him named a suspect by police so four. As for Long Island, I am open to the thought that all or most may be him but I am also open to the thought they may not be. I'm wondering more about Massachusetts, travel also, children and a whole lot more.

I definitely think he has killed more than four people though. He's 59 and owned two homes not well taken care of. Probably a major reason for that whether it was where he spent his money, if he needed to travel or if he and his wife lived a separate life in different places at points in time maybe even. Maybe like in my case where we had three at one point, none all remodled, etc. it was all just due to life, what happened to the housing market back when and more. Hard to say. I mean he could have stopped at a handful but I do think it unlikely. And hard to say before these either...

Law enforcement officials felt strongly that the alleged killer was from Long Island because that cell phone tower ping – which came from a phone belonging to one of the victims after her death – originated from the Massapequa area, according to two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the case.

Heuermann allegedly used burner phones to meet his victims and was seen on surveillance videos in cellphone stores buying the burners. He even stole two cellphones from victims, prosecutors alleged, using one to taunt the victim's family.

As NBC News previously reported officials believed the alleged killer used Melissa Barthelemy’s cell phone to call her teen sister repeatedly soon after Melissa disappeared in 2009. The alleged killer made explicit sexual comments, claimed to have killed Melissa and related details of her killing that only the murderer would know. Police believed the caller was a white man and the calls came from midtown Manhattan.

It was previously unreported that the same victim’s cellphone briefly pinged off of a tower in the Massapequa area around the same time. It was that potential clue that led officials to believe the suspect could one day be found in that area.

The Asian man was dressed like a woman. I think he was completely separate. That often sex workers who want to dress like women and live like one and are not anatomically one. Get killed when the customer didn't realize they were not actually physically a woman. They become enraged and kill that person. And that is no excuse for taking a life.

He is probably not a victim of this man BUT who knows. Who expected this man to be into child porn as well. And depending on how the Asian man advertised IF a sex worker, was he? I guess I don't know. Maybe Pizza Pie Pig didnt' know but did the same to him anyhow. Or maybe didn't care or was into such as well. He likely didn't care and was just on for doing his sexual sadism (most likely) and murder. So I do think it possible he is a victim of his but that doesn't mean I don't also believe he may well not be.

Also, who knows if this was his only dumping ground? Or the only type of thing he did...

In his interview with that guy who seemed French, he said he has been working in Manhattan since 1987 and was born and raised in Long Island. So we have holes or whatever to fill in. Go for it SM or YTers and news, etc. Nothing wrong necessarily just info we don't know. I just mean he bought his mom's house in was it 1994 or something close. Also when did he marry this wife and where did they live. Where did he or they live from 1987 to buying his mom's home in the 90s and starting his own business about then too? Who did he work for in Manhattan before starting his own architecture firm in the 90s around the time he bought mom's home? When and how did a Massachusetts home ever come into play?

There is so much here to find out and fill in. I mean maybe LE knows and the feds probably certainly do but we don't...

@Mel70 right?? @Tresir you need to be on this one and you research a lot on cases you are on but you're not on all. And give thoughts. Was there another home? An apartment? Even a period of time he wasn't married since he ha been working in Manhattan since the 80s where did he live then... He definitely COULD be responsible for the earliest of other murders in the area, maybe not the same dumping ground, who knows or maybe he wanted mom and dad's house because that was his dumping ground, etc....?

Worth mentioning I think that the three they have him on are 2009 and 2010 or allegedly have him on. Considering he has worked in Manhattan since the 80s and he bough the home in LI in the 90s... That's a long period before that and after...

Just also starting to watch Grizzly now that she has had two seconds to go through this one. She is pretty thorough. She knew the case before, I'm talking of the recent developments and her take on them and her review of it.

I heard about this arrest Saturday but only just got around to checking for this thread after seeing the lack of posting in the basement and here you all are!!!!!
