Who is the Long Island Serial Killer?

The Long Island serial killer (also referred to as LISK, the Gilgo Beach Killer or the Craigslist Ripper) is an unidentified suspected serial killer who is believed to have murdered 10 to 16 people over a period of nearly 20 years.

Are you sure of that? They didn't share all with us and I was under the impression they searched for this make of vehicle and it had something special between the cab and the bed or something on that order. Also we know it was seen at least twice, once in Costello's driveway or near and the other when it passed by after she walked towards the direction it came from to meet someone, her last sighting. I don't have time to go rewatch but I do know they started this with searching some vehicle database. Not even sure it was the DMV for that matter. Maybe they determined the make from the special whatever it had on it and went from there. It isn't like they told all. Then from there I believe they could connect him to having locations in both areas, home and office, etc., etc.

I'd also add I don't feel like 5,000 is a lot at all if that even was the case. You discard ones that don't fit the color. You discard female owners or 75 and older year old owners, anyone in their 20s and probably 30s, etc. Well maybe not discard but put to the side just in case but don't focus on them, and instead look through the more likely ones first. I'm sure a half dozen other things could rule out or totally or put that one to the side.

The older woman in the YT discussion of this case I posted above was in the discussion of supposedly crying when arrested and saying he didn't do it and they were discussing whether he was really crying and all said they'd have to see it, and see the arrest, etc. and I agree.

But I bring that up to give context, in discussing this at a point she said you know as far as serial killers getting nicknames, she joked that maybe his should be Crybaby. I agree. I like it because they want and he wants a big bad name, it's what serial killers want.

I like ogre and I get your Shrek too but I think I may like BIG Crybaby best. I added BIG lol.

I think so too and responded that before seeing this.

As to the hairs, they try to say they were but imo they weren't doing sh*(t on this case in most of the years since finding these girls.

However, I don't think his or his wife's hair were in any DNA database plus the genealogy thing wouldn't have been a thing either or as much of one.

I seem to recall all the pimp did is describe the truck or draw it. I don't think they knew the make and model. Then you have kids, friends, parents and others who could be using the truck. The first investigation had a lot of leads they glossed over and this could be one.

All I know is that LE made it clear in this PC that this was never done and they did it and this was the result, etc. Other things were mentioned like the something special or different on the vehicle and more.

I'm sure there may be more that I am not recalling but just as they released info on the belt, they never released where found, etc. did they? And the same with the truck. I'm not sure but @Tresir said the same and we both have reason for it and she may recall better or know more but this was not some search for some "any Chevy truck" in NYC which wouldn't have probably been 5,000 but more like 25,000 although I doubt most there are "truck" owners and many don't even drive probably. Regardless, I don't think they told us all back when by a long shot.

It wouldn't be odd to me at all this bf or pimp would have eyed every detail of this truck, the value, etc. Their entire operation was about money and getting it from JOHNS who had it.

I wasn't impressed hearing she was at the first court thing and thought she was likely going to support him but then something I read recently said the family has been fully cooperative and do not condone his actions or some such, I can't recall but making it clear they are appropriately condemning them.

I hope this divorce isn't just to protect assets, etc. and she is fully leaving him and trying to protect herself and is not on board in any way with him or supporting him in the legal process etc.

I haven't voiced it but just have wondered if there marriage hadn't in these past years turned into one of convenience. He was so hooker oriented, and with porn, that alone would be enough for most wives and no way do I believe she never had a sense of at least that much. Daughter is grown, hard to say where the son is or if she has him, etc.

The YT video I posted had info that his brother who he co-owns the SC property with was a hothead who a neighbor said came after him with a tool. It then went onto say Rex was hoping to retire in SC with his brother. No mention of with his wife...

There were a few things in it I hadn't heard and don't think we have. Joel (the YTer) did have the truck info wrong though. Dennis Rader's daughter was very interesting to listen to. Most I've watched her. She had the doll info in THIS case and also talked of her dad with such, etc.

I think this is going to unroll and unravel for some period of time, maybe even years. I think more is going to come than we expect or see in many cases quite quickly, not necessarily shared but much that can't be hidden easily either. Just his number of places wow. His number of phones. The fact anyone who sees his build and face that has ever met him or been hired by him, etc., etc. they are going to know it was him immediately or was in their store, their neighborhood and so on.

The YT show also referenced a young woman he struck up a conversation with in a bar about this case and if she followed crime at all, etc. My guess is and it seems as if immediately on seeing him she knew that was who she'd had a conversation with.

This thing at the house could be anything from a body, to body parts, to murder mementos. However, you don't need to reposition cars to take out small stuff that you could bag...

It could be to just take no chance ANYTHING is seen because news is getting intrusive or something. I suspect the news who rarely are present or on a thing unless this big are on this one.

That was a second truck they picked up in SC.

See below links, a black one and a green one. The green one is the one he owned at the time of the murders. I am assuming the black one is a newer vehicle and the older green one he kept for use in SC.
