The Long Island serial killer (also referred to as LISK, the Gilgo Beach Killer or the Craigslist Ripper) is an unidentified suspected serial killer who is believed to have murdered 10 to 16 people over a period of nearly 20 years.

The "witness" who places her at the Heuerman''s with them and they brought her there said she just got out of jail and she was hungry, i think dirty, etc. and had nowhere to go, etc. The woman was a swinger whose partner was a NYPD cop who became a detective at some point... He picked her up and you have to wonder why and who had him do so etc. or if he was part of it. She feels it WAS Valentine's Day or near as it was winter and her and her partner generally did swinging on the holidays or for the holidays. There is a lot more...

I think they stopped at a gas station if my memory serves and the guy was gasing up or something and the woman (thought to be KV by her now) said she was worried about where they were going. The woman told her her partner was a cop and reassured her she was safe with them (paraphrasing).

THere is more of interest and worse.

This is just the swinger's story and then there is the banker/taxi driver's story. I could go on about the rest...

I saw the PC and I previously read both the affidavits that attorney Ray and the police chief held the PC about so I knew that. Just posted these articles as they mentioned several things like her father had died a couple of years ago, the phone call to her father and that they had known since Oct 2022 but didn't want to announce it due to the investigation. The article also says the legs were wrapped in plastic (DNA?).

I hope the cops can turn the screws on the wife to get more info. What do you think? Will she turn against him? Or hopefully they know who this cop is as the affidavit quotes his initials.

So they now only have "Peaches' and her child to identify plus the Asian Man. The article above said they used genetic geneaology to identify Karen.


"The sons of a newly-identified Gilgo Beach murders victim reportedly were not notified by Long Island police before her name was revealed to the public.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney held a press conference on Friday to announce that the victim known only as Jane Doe 7 had finally been identified as Karen Vergata, more than 26 years after her partial remains were first discovered along the Long Island shores.
Vergata, 34, was last seen alive in Manhattan in 1996 while working as an escort. The huge breakthrough in the case comes almost three decades after some of Vergata’s remains were first discovered – and just weeks after Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old father-of-two architect, was arrested and charged with the murders of three other Gilgo Beach victims.

Mr Tierney told reporters that Vergata had been positively identified via DNA in August 2022 but investigators kept the development under wraps due to the ongoing investigation into Mr Heuermann. Officials refused to comment on whether or not her murder may be linked to the suspected serial killer.
The district attorney also attributed the delay to the need to contact Vergata’s family members.
However, it has since emerged that Vergata’s two biological sons - Eric and Gary Doherty - apparently were not informed before Friday’s announcement."

In August 2022 – around six months after the new Gilgo Beach taskforce was launched – a DNA profile suitable for genealogical comparison was developed from the remains of the victim, officials said in a press conference on Friday.
The next month, the FBI was able to presumptively identify the victim using genetic genealogy as Vergata.
Then, that October, investigators tracked down a relative of Vergata and took a buccal swab. Using this, they were able to definitively identity the victim as Vergata.
At Friday’s press conference, Mr Tierney said investigators kept that breakthrough hidden until now due to both the ongoing investigation into Mr Heuermann and the need to contact all of Vergata’s family members."

I can only guess that those in the know or who have been in the department or in any way at all connected to LE with their jobs or to county or city, know who this cop turned detective is. This sh*t lends to or leads to what has been rumored all along for years on end about cops involved in parties on LI, prostitutes, anything goes kind of stuff, and other important people as well. Of course much of that probably stems from those over the years that have come forward maybe to RAy or families and others as well.

First we do have to believe the witness to make this Heuerman's house and then it has to be Karen Vergata BUT it does not have to be Karen to mean it was H's home and that his wife was well aware and involved in much. Almost all of these accounts have people or cops or calls involved, etc. that should be able to be verified...

NORMALLY right now Asa and her atty. would come out screaming, putting John Ray down and threatening a lawsuit, etc. and mention her cancer and more... Been very quiet though even before these bombshells.

I think right from the start she was trying to do damage control and had a plan and spin things. I think we have hardly seen the tip of the iceberg here.

The cop who this woman "loved" is also imo very questionable AND will either have to verify all of this or lie...

Ohh I've always thought she saw it coming or felt fairly early on she did and I also think CB and her had a plan for if it ever did happen and I think I said as much back when. I now I did in fact.

Yes the woman thought she had just got out of jail or "karen" told her that. She was hungry, nowhere to go, no money, dirty or so it sounded on that order. The woman told her she could probably eat and get a shower at the place they were going (Heuermans).

She was HAUNTED by the fact they left her first looking out the window in what seemed fear or panic and then as they pulled out saw her running around the outside of the home naked . Claims she asked "partner" if they should be leaving her behind but he assured her they were just playing a game... I take "they" to mean Rex and her or Rex and Asa and her...

Tierney has additionally alleged that Heuermann was linked to the murders through hairs found on the burlap in which the Gilgo Four were wrapped and buried in on the South Shore of Long Island. Two hairs were found on Brainard-Barnes, while one hair each was found on Waterman and Costello when the bodies were uncovered in 2010. The hairs "were not suitable" for DNA testing at the time, Tierney told People but were stored in evidence until technological advancements allowed for the creation of a mitochondrial profile.

In the meantime, investigators tailed Heuermann and his wife, later obtaining a DNA profile from a pizza crust found in a box that he discarded in Manhattan. Additionally, the investigators also used DNA taken off of bottles that the Heuermann's left out for trash collection, according to NBC News.
"Now, we go back and we perform that analysis. Two out of the three hairs on Megan Waterman. One, the mitochondrial DNA profile obtained from that hair matches the defendant. One other DNA profile on that hair matches his wife, such that over 99 percent of the rest of the population can be excluded,” Tierney claimed.
The hair on Costello "matched the wife," Tierney added.
He continued, "We know that hair – his hair and his wife's hair – were found on the girl... So that could mean one of two things. There's transfer, meaning if I come in contact with my wife in the morning and one of her hairs gets on my clothes and then I come in contact with someone else, that hair could fall on them. That's called transfer. Or if someone comes to my house or comes into my car that I share with my wife and they sit down and it goes directly onto them.”

However, prosecutors have determined that Heuermann's wife, as well as their two children, were out of the state on vacation at the time the murders took place.
Rodney Harrison, Suffolk County Police Commissioner, separately said that there was hair found on Brainard-Barnes that is still undergoing testing.
"So it's going to take a little time, I'm not sure exactly what the timeframe is. But because the hair follicle was somewhat damaged, and trying to match the DNA connected to the hair, it may take longer than we anticipate. But, if it does come back as a match, then we'll definitely charge him with the murder to Mrs. Barnes," Harrison said, according to ABC 7 News.

I don't think I knew that Jessica was reported missing from Washington D.C. nor that she had a boyfriend and/or pimp but I don't believe the info that her remains were in burlap is accurate. I think if it was, the former commissioner would have revealed that info as it's the same evidence that most strongly linked the most recent four cases to the same perp.

Not sure if that means technology isn't advanced enough yet but I think they are possibly satisfied with the evidence for the three that they have already brought charges for so aren't rushing that one. Maybe the same for Karen and Shannon but I also think they maybe hoping for some info to come from his wife perhaps?

So what is the truth? Did Tierney notify the sons or no? Maybe they contacted the "head" of the family and expected all were told. Who knows who to believe with that one...

I can't tell you where but I am pretty sure I have heard they CAN now determine without the follicle but yes it takes longer and I also for some reason think such testing isn't done by all labs, maybe just one or something. I feel they will charge for her regardless of the results but that they'd prefer to have positive results.

Well here is the well regarded Police Commissioner as a guest on a YT channel of a friend, former colleague I believe. It was interesting and worth watching, nothing earth shattering but there was a nugget or few and I read between the lines on a couple of things or have guesses...

One thing is he said they know who RW is, the swinger cop who picked up who his partner alleges was Vergata. Another bit is that; he expects Tierney to come out in the next few weeks with a status on Maureen Brainard Barnes.

I think we have far from the facts on Shannon's death or that night. Everything fits better with other scenarios than what they "try" to make everyone believe. I don't know that CB was involved (RH) but that night and what went on and her death are not the story they've been telling. Just my opinion though.

Well here is the well regarded Police Commissioner as a guest on a YT channel of a friend, former colleague I believe. It was interesting and worth watching, nothing earth shattering but there was a nugget or few and I read between the lines on a couple of things or have guesses...

I was stunned that he participated in a pc with that attorney.
Bottomline, I don't trust his judgement.
